In the meantime……

Posted March 4, 2013 by Michelle in Review / 1 Comment

I am still working on Scarlet by Marissa Meyer hoping to be done with it tonight so I can have my review for you by Wednesday (its getting so good, I’m surprised I put it down to type this)

So in the meantime I figured I would give you one of my favorite books from last year (seeing I didn’t have a blog last year to share it, why not do it today lol)

“Frederic had imagined this moment – him running to Ella with open arms, calling her name – but being as winded as he was, doubled over with his hands on his knees, all he could do was nod in her general direction.”
Christopher Healy, The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom

Going back to a twisted Fairy Tale this book is a Middle Grade Book and it’s Hilarious. The next book is coming out in April and I’M SO EXCITED.

The Hero's Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healyt

“Some of you may not even realize that there is more than one Prince Charming. And none of them are actually named Charming. No one is. Charming isn’t a name; it’s an adjective.”

Prince Liam. Prince Frederic. Prince Duncan. Prince Gustav. You’ve never heard of them, have you? These are the princes who saved Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Snow White, and Rapunzel, respectively, and yet, thanks to those lousy bards who wrote the tales, you likely know them only as Prince Charming. But all of this is about to change.
Rejected by their princesses and cast out of their castles, the princes stumble upon an evil plot that could endanger each of their kingdoms. Now it’s up to them to triumph over their various shortcomings, take on trolls, bandits, dragons, witches, and other assorted terrors, and become the heroes no one ever thought they could be.
Christopher Healy’s Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom is a completely original take on the world of fairy tales, the truth about what happens after “happily ever after.” It’s a must-have for middle grade readers who enjoy their fantasy adventures mixed with the humor of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. Witty black-and-white drawings by Todd Harris add to the fun.

My Thoughts:

I absolutely loved this book. It was so much fun and I totally love “Prince Charming,” all of them! 🙂
This is such a cute adventure with 4 quirky princes charming trying to save princesses (sort of), battling witches (to a point) and gaining the fame they deserve (they hope)
The story is so original, the chapter titles are hilarious and I love the Illustrations.
“I’m Liam of Erinthia. I’m here to rescue you … And You are not Cinderella.
You are a tree branch wrapped in a sheet”
I can see this as a really cute animated movie…..Someone needs to get on that immediately 🙂
The next book comes out April 30, 2013 (doing a happy dance)

The Hero's Guide to Storming the Castle (The League of Princes, #2)
Prince Liam. Prince Frederic. Prince Duncan. Prince Gustav. You remember them, don’t you? They’re the Princes Charming who finally got some credit after they stepped out of the shadows of their princesses – Cinderella, Rapunzel, Snow White, and Briar Rose – to defeat an evil witch bent on destroying all their kingdoms.

But alas, such fame and recognition only last so long. And when the princes discover that an object of great power might fall into any number of wrong hands, they are going to have to once again band together to stop it from happening – even if no one will ever know it was they who did it.

Christopher Healy, author of the acclaimed The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom, takes us back to the hilariously fractured fairy-tale world he created for another tale of medieval mischief. Magical gemstones, bladejaw eels, a mysterious Gray Phantom, and two maniacal warlords bent on world domination – it’s all in a day’s work for the League of Princes.

You wont regret giving this book a read trust me.
Barnes & Noble and I think Amazon have the first book priced at $1.99 for a limited time.

SO GO GET IT, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!! 😉

Hope you had a super amazing Sunday
and
Happy Reading
