News at Home: COVID Quarantine Week 25

I feel like last Sunday was weeks ago, but turns out I’ve only lived a week since then :P. This was another very busy week, where I worked overtime pretty much every day.

Monday was the staff lunch I mentioned struggling to order last week. It went perfectly – 15 meals were delivered to 15 different addresses between 11:30 – 11:45 exactly as ordered. So success! We had a 2 hour meeting to go with it and it was both fun and exhausting. Directly following that I had another meeting, so by the end of the work day, I had virtual meeting overload.

Tuesday and Wednesday were very busy days, just because I had a lot of work to do, but nothing crazy. Thursday I had to GO TO work for the first time since March. And since I’m in a new job since then, this was my first time to this office and actually meeting a couple of my coworkers. I work at a hospital and I have to say, going in there is probably the safest I’ve felt going to a public place. Everything is strictly marked for keeping 6 ft distance. When you enter the building they take your temperature and ask a series of health questions. Then, because I was going to be possibly near clinical areas, they had me trade out my cloth mask for a better one and gave me a face shield (which is mine to keep).

Kiko took of work Thursday to watch Dante while I went to the hospital, so he decided to take Friday too. That made Friday a little bit easier, since he was home to help with Dante. Then Saturday I took Dante for a play date with our friends that we’ve gotten together with a couple other times. She teaches kindergarten and will have a class full of kids starting Tuesday, so we felt this was our last chance for a while. We had a little celebration for Dante’s 1st birthday (which is less than 2 weeks away!!) and he had his first ever cake. He liked it (of course lol)! We had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed watching Dante play with other kids. I hate that COVID has robbed him of those interactions, but I’m glad he’s had a few opportunities. It was a nice day.

I have still kept up with blogging this week, so yay! I don’t have much to report, except that our challenges have kicked off for September 🙂

It’s late, so I’m being brief. Hope y’all have a great week!

  1. Glad your lunch order and meeting went according to plan. Sounds very organized at your work and how kind of your hubby to take off work to make the transition smoother for you and Dante. Haha, I can picture him wearing his first cake. 🙂

Have a good week, Berls, and good luck on your reading challenges!

  2. I’m glad everything went well even though it was busy. It’s great you finally met some co-workers. I look forward to these posts from you so much. I think until I was 5 the only place I saw other kids was church or the neighborhood. I didn’t know what candy was until I went to kindergarten. I know I had a donut once and called it cookie bread. Have a lovely and safe week!
