Tell Me Something Tuesday was hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings, but she has (temporarily?) stopped blogging. So a group of us that had been doing posts (Linda from Book Girl of Mur-y-Castell, Karen from For What It’s Worth, Roberta from Offbeat YA, Jen from That’s What I’m Talking About and me) decided to get together, come up with some more topics and keep the meme going.Michelle made us a logo and we’re off and running. For more details, check out this post where I reintroduced the meme.
I can be sporadic, but when I do join in I will always share next week’s topic at the end of the post. So, today is about…
Do you enjoy reading holiday-themed books at the holidays or year-round?
So I will read them off season, but that is usually accidental… like I didn’t realize there was a holiday theme in the book. But generally speaking, I love to read holiday books during the season. I’ve been reading them since mid-November this year. I also enjoy a Christmas in July periodically. I think the thing is that I’m a mood reader and at the holidays, I’m in a holiday mood. Or sometimes they help me get into the mood, if I’m in a funk. Holiday themed books are generally so happy and light, just what I’m looking for this time of year.
I mostly read PNR so I don’t really read holiday themed books unless a vampire or werewolf is celebrating Christmas. lol
I weirdly like to read holiday books when they’re not relevant, lol. Halloween/creepy books in February, Christmas stories in the summer, summer books in winter… I like going somewhere in my head that doesn’t immediately reflect what’s outside my window. 🙂

Exactly! I’m in the holiday mood at the holidays – so reading them at the holiday time is the best!
I get in the ‘Christmas in July’ moods and if I hit a holiday setting in a series I will read it, but usually Nov-Dec are my primo Holiday reading months. Good point about them helping get you in the festive mood.
I don’t necessarily seek out holiday themed books but occasionally, very occasionally I do read them. It’s usually if favorite authors of mine are doing an anthology or something.
I think this is the first year where I don’t have any holiday books on my shelf. Usually, I save them for November\December.
I do like reading a holiday book or two this time of the year. They can be fun, like a good Hallmark Christmas movie. I also LOVE mysteries and thrillers, so any of those set around the holidays or Winter are interesting to me too.
