APP #Reviews ~ My PlayHome

Posted September 21, 2015 by Michelle in App Review / 10 Comments

reviewing AppsApp Reviews is a feature that reviews free and bought apps from the App Store, we download them, whether free or paid and play, then either just Me and/or Ryan (10) and/or Julia (7) will tell you what we thought. Sometimes reviews just don’t tell you what you really want to know and the pictures just don’t give enough info. So the three of us (or only me) have played the game, taken screen shots  and will tell you what we honestly think. So before you download that game, check out what we thought of it first.

Have a game you are considering playing but aren’t sure? Send us an email and we will look into it and it might be featured on our next App Reviews

Description:

My PlayHome is a doll house for the iGeneration.

Imagine a doll house where your child can use everything, even the closets, TV and shower. Where you can fry an egg and feed the family pizza. Where you can pour drinks, blow bubbles and turn out the lights. Imagine a doll house where the pieces are impossible to lose and never break. A doll house where new accessories and rooms are given to you for free.

Imagine if it was designed so that even a 2 year old could use it, yet detailed enough to entertain an 8 year old.

Imagine a doll house that could excite and captivate your children for hours for less than the price of a cup of coffee….

———————————————–

My PlayHome is the original and best dolls house app. Massively interactive, your kids can explore and use everything in the house. The characters eat, sleep, shower, brush their teeth and more. Want the room to be darker? Close the drapes! Fancy a change in music? Pop a different CD into the stereo!

No other doll house app comes close in interactivity, detail, ease of use and just plain fun!

Ryan 10: N/A

Julia 7: It’s a good game, lots of fun. four-stars

Michelle: Very cute for kids and reminds me of colorforms four-stars

Have you ever played Colorforms as a kid? If not it was a small box that had a cardboard picture of a house or field and you have these plastic little figures you can stick on and take off. I would play for hours with it. When Julia asked me to download this game for her I thought it would be very cute, like colorforms, but without the option of losing all the pieces. I must say this is a REALLY cute game. You have a bunch of little people to play with and dress up. You can put them in bed and even eat some stuff in the refrigerator. You can make Mom and Dad coffee and feed the baby a bottle. It has a cute backyard where they can jump on a trampoline and water a cute carrot garden. If you look in the flowers you can find ones that you can pull out to give to mommy to put around the house. The game is really cute and your child can spend hours making up stories and playing with the characters.

The house they live in has 6 rooms, a kitchen, living room, bathroom, kids room, parents room and walk in closet for the parents. In the parents bed room they have a dresser that has jewelry and hats for the mom to wear. Living room you can feed the fish, watch TV and play CD’s in the radio. The kids rooms has cute hats for them to wear and a bunch of toys. The bathroom has all working parts, shower (they go in fully clothed) toilet, and you can even brush their teeth. The kitchen has a spinning washer, a few working appliances and a refrigerator you can stock with food. This is a really cute game and I think little ones (maybe parents too) can play with it for hours.

The only issue we had was once in a while the game resets and you have to go to the stores again and set everything up but if your little ones don’t mind having to do it over again then it’s not a big deal. Sometimes it’s nice to start over again but not when you are in the middle of playing.

The game has two add ons that are also separate games, one is a SCHOOL and the other a STORE that you can buy more groceries for your family, ice cream and clothes to change them in. They even have a bunch of school uniforms to buy so you can make all the kids go to school. This add a lot more to the game and makes it hours of fun. If you are looking for something for the kids to play on a long car ride or something to keep them busy while you cook dinner this is a great game for them to play.

  1. Yay for APP reviews! This looks like a cute game for the little ones. It got me thinking of all the games I played as a kid, and how fun it would be if there was an interactive version… 🙂

  2. This sounds like a game I would’ve enjoyed as a kid. I never had a dollhouse, but my sister and I loved lego and other things were you could make a setting and make up your own story. We even created drawing books where you could walk through with drawn characters.

This looks like a cute game with ltos of options and the grpahics look ncie too. And those add-ons sound like the actually add something to the app. Great review!

    • It is a little like a dollhouse, I once made an entire house just the inside out of legos, I played with it for hours and kept it forever. It was one of my favorite things to play with.

The graphics are really nice and the game play is super simple for the little ones, I even had fun playing with it.
