Nerdy astronomy geek Marsha, M to her few friends, has never been anybody special. Orphaned as an infant and reluctantly raised by an overly-strict “aunt,” she’s not even sure who she is. M’s dream of someday escaping tiny Jewel, Indiana and making her mark in the world seems impossibly distant until hot new quarterback Rigel inexplicably befriends her. As Rigel turns his back on fawning cheerleaders to spend time with M, strange things start to happen: her acne clears up, her eyesight improves to the point she can ditch her thick glasses, and when they touch, sparks fly—literally! When M digs for a reason, she discovers deep secrets that will change her formerly humdrum life forever . . . and expose her to perils she never dreamed of. Yes, the middle of nowhere just got a lot more interesting!

A Chat with the Author

1. When do you find yourself singing?
In the car—almost always! I keep switching radio stations until I find a song I want to sing along with.

2. What is one beverage you need to drink everyday?
Coffee—though believe it or not, I came to appreciate coffee late in life. Never liked it much until I had really GOOD coffee in Italy, then spent the next year or two trying to duplicate it at home. (That’s still the only way I really like coffee!)

3. What superpower would you want? and what would your superhero name be?
Reading at the speed of light! (I’m a fairly slow reader and I hate that—so many books and so little time!) My name would be The Book Gobbler 🙂

4. What season do you prefer? Why?
Fall. Maybe I spent too many years in school, but I always think of Fall as a time of new beginnings. (Plus the weather is usually really nice—that’s when the sky seems bluest!)

5. You walk into a room, what us your entrance music?
“Green-eyed Lady.” (Because I have green eyes, of course!)
