Destiny has two ways of crushing us…by refusing our wishes…and fulfilling them.
Vie had no idea when she descended into the small town of Newcastle, Wyoming that she’d find herself mesmerized by the mysterious and alluring eyes of one Carter Stone. And Carter believed he knew everyone that lived in his rural town until the day he locked eyes with Vivian Thorne. He couldn’t help but wonder what was different about this girl he had known all of his life.
He was right, Vie was the beautiful young Guardian that had been sent to their world looking for Carter and she did so merged in the vessel of the Thorne girl. Their meeting sparks a passionate romance between the two and soon after they embark on their journey to uncover the secrets of a past that they begin to realize they both shared. Their forbidden connection unleashes a war with disapproving parties and the lovers find themselves on a mission to uncover the truth of their not wholly human existence and their unbreakable bond.
Darkness falls as Lucian returns to settle a score with them and their lives take a thrilling and terrifying turn. The only way for Carter to stop Lucian and save the one he holds most dear is to unlock the secrets of his past and unleash the powers within him. What are the chances that two raindrops, flung from the heavens, will merge on a windowpane? Gotta be fate!
Deeply passionate and extraordinarily suspenseful, Descended captures the struggles between doing what is expected of you and unleashing your destiny, between fulfilling prophecies and desires, between loyalty and love.

Interview with the Author:
1.) What is your book about:
Vie had no idea when she descended into the small town of Newcastle, Wyoming that she’d find herself mesmerized by the mysterious and alluring eyes of one Carter Stone. And Carter believed he knew everyone that lived in his rural town until the day he locked eyes with Vivian Thorne. He couldn’t help but wonder what was different about this girl he had known all of his life.
Violet is a beautiful young Guardian that has been sent to Newcastle Wyoming on a mission to find seventeen year old, Carter Stone. She does so merged in the vessel of a dying girl named Vivian Thorne. Carter can’t help but wonder what is different about this girl he has known all of his life.
Carter and Vie awaken each other to who they really are, and what they truly desire. Thus, it is a romance born of the most ideal circumstances: two people who bring out the best in each other, rather than a traditional “one needs the other” arrangement.
2.) What is one thing you want audiences to know about you?
I think that writing is just an extension of who I am. My grandmother lived with me for the past 5 years. We were very close and she was my biggest supporter in life. She always told me I was a gifted story-teller. I remember sitting by her bedside wondering how I could let her know how much I appreciated her always believing in me. I decided the best way to show her how grateful I was would be to write. I did that day after day, while sitting in her room and read each chapter to her as I went. Sadly, she didn’t live long enough to hear the end of my story but there are traces of her in it from beginning to end. My Grandmother inspired me to be my best and I am doing just that.
3.) If you had a writing motto what would it be?
Writing is the most fun you can have by yourself! After raising 3 boys, I enjoy a little time to myself.
4.) What book character do you most relate to and why?
Well that’s hard to say? Actually, Descended was created with one of my all time favorite movies in mind…Disney’s “Tangled.” At is core, Descended is tale very similar with Violet featured as a modern day Rapunzel and Carter as Flynn Rider. What is lovely about the character, Violet, is that she maintains her inherited innocence and sweetness and yet represents the independent spirit and ingenuity of a modern heroine. It is a story of self discovery, flight from the nest, and coming of age – it’s also a novel that speaks to anyone who has faced, or is facing, the trials and tribulations of growing up.
5.) What’s the best kept secret you’ve found in regard to indie publishing?
I would say the best kept secret is that indies band together against the “Big House” publishing industry’s. It’s like being part of a very close knit circle of support & friends, who all root each other onto success. Also, there are so many great sites that offer “Free” advertising for indie authors which is pretty cool too.

About the Author: I am a happily married, devoted mom of 3 living in Naperville, Illinois. I’m married to a fifth grade teacher, who is my best friend and soul mate. Being “Mom” for the past 23 years has been my privilege but really didn’t allow me the time I needed to pursue what I loved most…writing.
After my grandmother passed away, I decided that life was too short to put the things we love to do on hold. The next day my story took flight. Carter and Vie began having conversations in my head daily and I found myself addicted to writing their story. Nine months later I finished and published, Descended (Fallen Guardian Saga #1).
I am so excited to have published my second novel, Ascended (Fallen Guardian Saga #2).I hope people will enjoy reading them as much as I have enjoyed writing them.
3 boys? Wow! Kudos to you mom! And the book sounds great. Love the different lavender shades on the cover!
