COYER Winter2019SignUp

It’s time to sign up for COYER again! Obviously Michelle and I are in, seeing as we’re hosting it (Along with Stephanie from Once Upon a Chapter this time). But here’s our official goal post! If you missed the details, go sign up now!

Michelle’s Goals

Since I am sucking big time as a human, I am going to do just regular strict COYER. Sorry I wont be able to buddy read, however I do plan to do all the readathons. I am hoping COYER will kick me back into the reading mood I deserve 🙂

I had a hard time picking what to recommend because I had two books in mind. However, I figured I would pick one and if you really wanted to know the other one, while it wont count, you can totally ask and I will tell you, maybe read it for a readathon.

My recommend book is LifeL1k3 by Jay Kristoff. I LOVED this book and currently have the second one that I plan to read before the end of the year. I am trying to see if I can get it to fit in the Rats and I think I might know exactly which one to fit it into. 🙂

Berls Goals

So my plan is to mainly do normal COYER But I’m setting up a few buddy reads and I’m going to go through all the sign up posts next week to see about finding about 5 book recommendations to read. I’m really excited about the Friends elements this time, for sure. I will also try to do the readathons, though I tend to suck at reading on demand (at least in the past year or so). I did pretty well with the #HoHoHoRAT though, so maybe!

I struggled picking a book to recommend – do I go with my all time favorite or a lesser known, recent read? I decided to go recent because I figure, if you’re going to read Pride and Prejudice you’ve probably already read it, right? I mean it’s a classic and required reading for so many of us in school anyway. So my recommendation is, one of my favorite, lesser-known urban fantasy authors, Diana Pharaoh Francis’s Bitter Night. It’s book 1 of a 4 book series. She’s a great author and I think more people need to be exposed to her talent.

About Berls

Michelle adopted me as part of her blog when I decided to close down my blog, Fantasy is More Fun. The blog was dying, but my love of reading and the blogosphere was still strong as ever - so I found my new home here at Because Reading!

I'm not just a book lover, but a one time author (that hopes to be more in the future), wife, mom to the cutest, happiest, best 2 year old and step-mom to the craziest, sweetest 22 year old on the planet. My family mean everything to me and they appear frequently in the Sunday Post with Berls. So grab a glass of wine and chat books, blogging, and family with me!

  1. I love the new header! I’m just planning to do my one-sheet plan for COYER today to write in the RAT and buddy reads I have planned. I am doing buddy reads with Berls, Linda (Lexxie) and Sophia Rose. I’d do more but I think one a month is all I can handle. I’m excited to get started.
