My To-Be Read List #5

Posted October 12, 2013 by Michelle in My TBR List / 8 Comments

I have SOOOOOOOOO many books on my TBR list
I decided that instead keeping it to myself I would share with all of you.
I put most of these books on for a reason, some I have no idea why they are there 😉
So lets chat….
maybe it’s a book you read and HATED
or a book you LOVED and want me to read NOW
or a book you never heard of.
I figured…
I will randomly pick one book each week to share with you 🙂
This weeks book is:
I mentioned last week I am going to stick with a Halloween or Scary theme (maybe just a little scary)
So looking through my EVER GROWING TBR list. I came across this book which I know a lot of people have already read and I will admit I have not read a book from him yet ***hides***

The Graveyard Book

by Neil Gaiman
Hardcover, 312 pages
Published September 30th 2008 by HarperCollins

After the grisly murder of his entire family, a toddler wanders into a graveyard where the ghosts and other supernatural residents agree to raise him as one of their own.
Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn’t live in a sprawling graveyard, being raised and educated by ghosts, with a solitary guardian who belongs to neither the world of the living nor of the dead. There are dangers and adventures in the graveyard for a boy. But if Bod leaves the graveyard, then he will come under attack from the man Jack—who has already killed Bod’s family . . .
Beloved master storyteller Neil Gaiman returns with a luminous new novel for the audience that embraced his New York Times bestselling modern classic Coraline. Magical, terrifying, and filled with breathtaking adventures, The Graveyard Book is sure to enthrall readers of all ages.

I think this is another good read for Halloween maybe not scare your pants off or maybe it is.
I love to cover of this one and the synopsis is great. I also love how it is compared to Coraline, never read the book but I love the movie. It was weird and I really like weird LOL

So….
Have you heard of this book?
Have you read it?
If so, is it something I should read now or not read at all?
Lets Chat 🙂
Thanks for stopping by this weeks My To Be Read List
Check back next Saturday for a new featured book!!

  1. I've heard a lot of good things about Gaiman's works and I recently added this one to my TBR list. Everyone seems to love him and I feel like I'm missing out on his awesome works.

  2. Graveyard Book is very good. I'm not sure what I expected, but it was a really good story. I don't think anyone else can make such a heartwarming and exciting story from the premise of a little boy being raised and protected by the inhabitants of a cemetery.

    • He has quite a few books I have been wanting to read. I might really have to move this up my list. Lots of people say such good things about it.
      Thanks for stopping in 🙂

  3. I haven't read this book yet nor have I read anything from Gaiman. He's one of those authors that intimidate me. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy it. Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this one!

  4. READ The Graveyard Book! It's very sweet and quirky and I loved it. I am a Neil Gaiman fan. I haven't read ALL of his books, but of the ones I have, I have never been disappointed! TGB starts off with a family being murdered, with only the baby escaping. He finds a new family to take care of him and it's WONDERFUL. Since it involves ghosts and at least one vampire, it's a great
