Tell Me Something Tuesday is hosted by Rainy Day Ramblings. Check out her blog for upcoming topics! I saw a post by Jen (Twimom) and thought it was fun and decided to join in. So I’ll be jumping in sporadically 🙂
Read these books!
So today’s topic is to challenge a fellow blogger to read a book you think they would enjoy. Well I don’t want to call anyone out. Instead, I’m going to list a favorite for a few genres and I challenge you to read the book from your favorite genre if you haven’t yet. And challenge me to read one from the same genre!
Urban Fantasy: I love UF and there are a lot of good books. However, off the beaten path I really love the Horgnate Witches Series by Diana Pharaoh Francis. The first book is Bitter Night and there’s only 4 books in the series.
Suspense: I’m not a huge Suspense reader, but have yet to be disappointed by Ruth Ware. My favorite is The Woman in Cabin 10.
Mystery: Also not big on traditional detective, but I adore JD Robb’s In Death Series. There’s more than 50 books and I’m working on a reread! Start with Naked in Death, if you haven’t read these yet.
Cozy Mystery: I love the Shelby Nichols series by Colleen Helme. The first book is Carrots!
Dystopian: I’ve gone through phases where I like dystopian and I hate it. But the Lunar Chronicles (which is also YA) was good from start to finish.
Classic: I read Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen pretty much every year. And then finish it off with the movie, from A&E, starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.
Berls is recommending 6 books from 6 favorite genres! Have you read them? Share on X
Read a few of your choices…love Shelby Nichols! Also love Pride and Prejudice (though Persuasion is my favorite.) 😉 Read the first two Lunar books and didn’t like Woman in Cabin Ten…lol.
You didn’t like Woman in Cabin 10?!? I LOVED it (obviously I guess). I like psychological thrillers with unreliable narrators best. Of course, I adore Shelby ❤️
I haven’t read any of those – haven’t heard of most (only P&P). Thanks for the recs. I ran a similar style post today, as well. So you can see my recommendations there.
I tried to pick good ones that weren’t super popular and everyone has read. Except In Death… I feel like that’s very well known. I look forward to your recommendations!
Pride & Prejudice just never gets old. But, confession time: when it comes to the movie adaptations I’ve never seen the Colin Firth version. Ack!
Omg you must! It’s the absolute best adaptation and I think its on Hulu right now 😊
I’ve read The Woman in Cabin 10 and Pride and Prejudice from your list. I’ll have to look up Carrots. I like it just on the title. 🙂
I think you’ll enjoy Carrots Sophia, it’s a fun book (that I picked because of the title too 🤣) and a solid series.
