Week in READ-view and The Sunday Post 12/29

Posted December 29, 2013 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 14 Comments

Week in READ-view is a post I have posted every Sunday telling what have I been up to this week….. and I thought it would be great to link it with The Sunday Post….The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the  Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

My original idea was to write this AMAZING year in review. With a list of all the books I read and fireworks and fan fair (well maybe not fireworks) but this last week totally kicked my ass and I will admit I should have started writing the post a month ago. (lesson learned for next year) So I figured I would just do a nice WIR and Sunday Post instead and then maybe at some point next week do a year wrap-up. If you are wondering what I did read this year I made a shelf on Goodreads. I am so proud of myself for reading 66 books this year. I know others read more but for me this was a big accomplishment.

It was a VERY light blog week and I sadly was unable to visit all my favorite blogs this week. Next week is a little light as well but in January things will go back to normal and I will soon be celebrating my one year blogversary in February with an amazing giveaway with lots of great authors. I will also have more time to visit all my favorite bloggers 🙂 I have so many but I have a plan how to get to you all at least once or twice a week. If things go well then I say three times a week. My TBR list will never be the same…not that it ever was.

Books:

So I am still reading Sea of Shadows by Kelley Armstrong since I wasn’t able to read much this week plus I am finding the story a little slow so I am having a hard time reading it. I’m really sad about it since I love Kelley Armstrong but I plan to stick with it in hopes it picks up soon. I am really not that far into it only about 17%.

I received for 4 hard cover books from my fantastic family, who I love so much, for Christmas.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
The School of Good and Evil by Soman Chainani
House of Secrets by Chris Columbus & Ned Vizzini

Amazon Free Downloads

Abigail and her Pet Zombie by Marie F. Crow

It’s a kids books but so cute I read it with my daughter the illustrations
are wonderful and the story is super adorable.

Edelweiss

Avalon by Mindee Arnett

My next read will be Ratgirl Song of the Viper by Gayle C. Krause
for a blog tour and then the Eversea Series by Natasha Boyd for another blog tour in January

Santa was here and Mr & Mrs Nosy Rosy need to check everything out.

Christmas was so much fun and the kids LOVED all the gifts Santa got them. I am still opening boxes of dolls and putting together lego sets. It’s lots of fun really 🙂 I had my family over and cooked a very yummy dinner (yes I just patted myself on the back for being an awesome cook lol) Turkey, Pot Roast, Eggplant Parmigiana, Peas, Sweet Potatoes, Polenta, Broccoli Rabe…. the menu was endless, exhausting but totally worth it.

This was my favorite! I totally love this friggin Monkey!!!

This week for New Years my sister and I host a New Year’s Eve Hoopla with a bunch of friends and family nothing to big just a nice place for people to go to hang. It’s always a lot of fun and its nice to have the company.

I do hope you all have a safe and a Very Happy New Year!
So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
Did you get any awesome books from Santa?
Let’s Chat…
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading

  1. Abigail and Her Pet Zombie looks so cute. Unfortunately it's no longer free. *pouts*

My boys (ages 14 & 13) got Legos, too. They sat in the living room and put them together after everything had been opened while my daughter (16) played a new game on the Xbox. lol

Congrats on reading 66 books! *high fives*

    Happy New Year! 🙂

  2. Your dinner sounds soooo tasty, yum! TFIOS is as good as everyone says it is, I'm always afraid with over hyped books but this one is worthy of the hype. I hope the Eversea series is good, I keep eying it up on NetGalley. Happy New Year and enjoy your lovely haul 🙂

    • I have been scared to read it since it's sad but a hear so many things about it I figure I'll grab my tissues and just jump in. I am hoping to get to it soon.

    • I have been so hesitate to read it, everyone talks about how amazing it is and they are making a movie so I guess I should at least try. I have my tissues ready 🙂
Eggplant Parm was so yummy will have to post a recipe for it one day its not like normal eggplant parm its more like stacks of individual eggplant. Super delicious

  4. OH MY GOSH! Your nosy puppies are soooo cute!!! Mine couldn't care less!! And those ARE very big presents!!! You say you got stuck helping with the Legos… I'm not allowed to touch the 7 year old's. NO HELP he says! Well, okay then… he actually does them all okay. You know, Megablocks suck compared to Legos… just saying 🙂 Hope you got all the dolls out okay!!!
