vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays tell you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news.ย  A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Blog News:

Now that my calendar is pretty much complete, I started setting up posts in advance so I am a bit ahead I am very excited. I haven’t been posting reviews lately, well at least since COYER and the reason for that is because I am trying to have a few so I can get ahead, does that make sense? I always seem to post a review after I read the book but since I don’t read that fast I barely post reviews so I figured if I hold off a bit I can post at least or set up a few reviews in the next couple of weeks and catch up with my reading….does this make sense at all, lol. I feel as a review blog I just don’t have enough reviews and unless I make my family move out so I can live alone and read, I thought by holding off on posting reviews I can gather a bunch a post then throughout the month post them and any other review I write I will be ahead….I’m giving up on this explanation now and pray that you all understand what I am talking about and not think I have gone completely mental..er than I am already ๐Ÿ˜‰

Books I read/currently reading

I killed this week on reads

I finished The Looking Glass by Jessica Arnold. I will have the review for this up with the tour

I am currently reading a book I got the chills from when I read the synopsis and so far it's turning out to be so much more then I expected and I am only 20% done. LOVING it.

ย  ย

Next I plan to read

I just got asked to read the second in the series so I am going to read this series next. ย

Books I received, downloaded and added.

I am totally not capable of controlling myself. I need adult supervision when I am on Netgalley, Edelweiss and Amazon.....I am also not allowed to go to Barnes & Nobles alone. With that being said this is what I got this week ๐Ÿ˜‰

Amazon Freebies

What else is going on?

Ok so I was a bit frustrated with BEA this year and I finally got it all straightened out but I am still am a bit annoyed. My sister and I went last year to power reader day on Saturday since I couldn't do the whole week because of work and I wanted to do Saturday again this year. Next year is the last year in NY and I plan to do the entire week even if I have to go alone since I don't know if they will be coming back to NY. So I got a ticket for my sister and me for Saturday's Power Reader day and you get access to the entire trade floor, pretty cool....Then they changed it without warning or giving anyone the option to cancel or switch days. Saturday's BEA event is now Book Con and you only have access to half the show and if a publishing company doesn't want to be part of the Book Con and only the Trade part I wont have access unless I buy a weeks pass or switch my day to Thursday/Friday. I tried to go Friday and Saturday but they wont let you it's either one day or all week (which is stupid, I think they would sell more tickets if it was done like that). Since going to Book Con and getting access to half the event wont benefit me at all I had to switch the day to Friday so I can be part of the trade show. I don't mind but I have to now find someone to get my kids after school and my sister had to take off of work PLUS it's $45 dollars more then on Saturday. So I am happy I will be going just a little annoyed the purchase didn't go as smoothly.

The family went to see the Easter Bunny on Saturday at the Rainforest Cafe. I love the Rainforest Cafe we go to see Santa and the Easter bunny there and the kids love it but wow do they have crappy breakfast but we had fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Today we are going to celebrate Easter with my Parents since they will be in Florida for Easter on Vacation, the week they have at their condo falls Easter week and My Mom couldn't switch it so we are celebrating with them today and next week on Easter it will be at my house with My husbands family.ย  Sometimes the Easter Bunny thinks she's he's Santa and brings to much stuff, which is probably why my kids love Easter so much. I The Easter bunny just can't help her himself ๐Ÿ˜‰

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Let's Chat...

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

  1. I’m not a very fast reader, ok, I may be able to finish one average sized book in a week. Like you, I realise that that is probably not enough to sustain a book blog, well sort of. What I’m doing at the moment is reviewing books I read in the past, and also non-fiction books. Though some of the books I might have read a long time ago, it is actually fun taking them out, browsing and writing the reviews – it almost feels a little bit like re-reading them.
Have a great week and Happy Reading.
    My Sunday Post is here

  2. I understand and it still rocks to be ahead on review posts!! It’s so FREEING!!! Especially b/c you have a family and you don’t stress trying to get to the blog to post ๐Ÿ™‚ And I totally hear you on the Santa/Easter Bunny confusion! We have a birthday thrown in there this year so it’s extra confusing! UGH!!!!

See? I’m not allowing myself anywhere near new books this month – it’s horrible!!! I’m with you!

And I’m so sorry about BEA!!! What a mess ๐Ÿ™

  3. I totally get what you’re doing, as an (essentially) part time blogger I don’t put a ton of reviews up either. I can see wanting to have a little cushion, definetly. I’m pretty happy when I get even a couple of posts done in advance, LOL.

That does sound kinda messed up with BEA. How frustrating. And we love Rainforest Cafe too- the food is not always the best, but the atmosphere is cool, the kids love it, and they have the Volcano. We go just for that pretty much. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I don’t think it’s fair at all that BEA changed tickets like that. In fact I am really surprised that it’s allowed AFTER people have purchased tickets (unless I read that wrong). I would really like BEA to move around. If it goes to Cali I am soooo there. I didn’t want to go to the NY one because since I’ve never been to NY I would rather tour NY. I am glad though that you are getting to go after all!

    • not the tickets the entire event. I had to switch days so it was more money. They should have done that before the tickets went on sale and not after I already bought them thinking I would have access to the entire event. Just glad I realized it before it was to late

  5. I understood you completely because that’s what I’m doing this month. And maybe next month, too. I’m reading books I agreed to review for tours and then I’ll concentrate on my queue and TBR. I’m slowly wrangling everything into place. ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a great week!

    • I plan to do some more set up posts this week, it was nice to not be stressed this week with posts since I had to work from home this weekend. I am sad it is leaving but I do hope they come up with a better system for tickets, I honestly think people are going to miss out on a lot if they just do on Saturday.

  6. I wished I lived close to a city where they had book events. Even with your problems I’m a little jealous. ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats on getting ahead and you know us book blogging buddies totally understood what you were saying. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m trying to do better on getting my reviews up in a timely manner. I tend to read really fast and put off doing the reviews and then I forget…opps! Lately I’ve been making myself do all the setup before I even start the book (this part I’m doing good on) and then I try to review it within a couple of days (still need to work on this part). I can’t wait to see what you thought of The Looking glass since it is a book that I have considered picking up. Have a great week and happy reading!!!

    • I would totally pick it up, It had a little bit of slow parts but overall it was really good read. I need to write that review lol.

  7. I totally know how you feel! I’m either way ahead with my post or way behind! I never seem to find some balance there. Anyhow you’ve got some really interesting books. I hope you’ll enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Sorry about your BEA experience–hopefully you can make up for it with lots of freebies when you are there. I’ve been at BEA for the past few years and have the best time ever.

    thanks for visiting my blog.

    • It really is so much fun, I hope to get a few freebies and meet some new people. It was fun last year chatting with all the authors, I was so star struck I couldn’t even talk all giggly and no words lol. I hope to do better this year ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. Sorry to hear about all the BEA frustration. I really want to go back to BEA and enjoy it more. I’ve been once a few years ago, and it was wonderful, but I wasn’t able to stay long or do too much. I might have to look into going next year if that’s the last time in NYC…unless the next year is closer or something. haha

    • The year after next is in Chicago, I could go but I would have to go alone and I don’t like to travel by myself. It really is a lot of fun and so exciting. SO much going on and you meet so many people. I was just so disappointed it was so frustrating they seem so unorganized. ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. Bea

LOL Your post made me laugh with explanation (which I completely understood) and you’re needing adult supervision around books. I am so with you there. ๐Ÿ˜€

That’s frustrating about BEA. It doesn’t seem well organized. I hope it’ll be worth all the aggravation.

Bea recently posted: Sunday Book Share #84
    • Last year it was worth the aggrevation, I understand to a point why they do it but I really thing blogger (which are considered media) should have access to more then just one day if they can’t do the entire week. I am just pissed they changed Saturday so drastically without notice. If a blogger is going on Saturday and doesn’t realize you don’t have access to the trade show section they will be diappointed, I want to mingle and get my name out but I can’t if I was limited to who I can talk to, really didn’t seem worth it to me. I just finished designing my Business cards and really want to hand them out lol

  11. I’ve been struggling with that too, I don’t read that many books since the beginning of this year and I feel like I don’t post enough reviews on my blog. But on the other hand i don’t feel like people actually enjoy reading reviews that much as I don’t get that many comments on review posts usually. or maybe they do read it, but just don’t comment? My Sunday Posts always seem to do best in terms of comments, but that might be because I usually spend sunday commenting on other blogs as well and then they comment back.

That problem with your BEA tickets sounds a bit weird, it seems like they could’ve handled this much better.

I hope you enjoy You Are Mine, I really want to read it as well, but I have some review books to read first and I hardly got any reading done last week.

    • I have a post I want to write about comments. I have noticed a decline in them on reviews and I love commenting on other peoples blogs when I can. They usually come back and I love that. I can be rather chatty ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the Sunday Post, I sit in the morning with my coffee and spend a good 2 hours reading and commenting, It’s my favorite post of the week and I really look forward to it!

Yes BEA could have done that different just glad I got the tickets switched and now I will have a badge for Blogger instead of guest.

I am super excited about You Are Mine, Cutlass I am taking my sweet time with because so far 20% had blown me away!

    • I don’t like chocolate ***hides*** I don’t know why, I eat it very rarely but my kids love it we do buy them nice big chocolate bunnies (I mean the easter bunny of course) and they get little toys and games. When I was little I always wanted the white chocolate over the Milk but when I got older I just couldn’t eat it anymore….I know and I call myself a human lol see maybe I am mental ๐Ÿ˜‰
