After a lifetime of bounties and bloodshed, Viv is hanging up her sword for the last time.
The battle-weary orc aims to start fresh, opening the first ever coffee shop in the city of Thune. But old and new rivals stand in the way of success — not to mention the fact that no one has the faintest idea what coffee actually is.
If Viv wants to put the blade behind her and make her plans a reality, she won't be able to go it alone.
But the true rewards of the uncharted path are the travelers you meet along the way. And whether drawn together by ancient magic, flaky pastry, or a freshly brewed cup, they may become partners, family, and something deeper than she ever could have dreamed.
This book was a buddy read for MyTBR List with Berls, however I am as slow as slow can be so I just finished this last weekend.
First Impression: Why did you want to read this book?
I have seen a lot of people talking about this one on TickTok and figured I would try it out. I am a lover of Coffee and I do love a cozy coffee shops. Plus the cover is fantastic.
Tell me a little about the Characters and/or world build (if any)?
While I thought the Characters could have used a bit more build the main character Viv did have a lot more depth to her. I loved the growth she experienced and the relationships she had. She was just the sweetest person but just didn’t realize how amazing she was.
What was your favorite thing about this book?
I am not sure I had a favorite thing, I think over all the book was comforting and I got old reading vibes from it. Like the reasons I love reading so much. It was nostalgic for me and cozy
What didn’t you like about the book?
It was a bit slow, I felt like a lot of it was done in real time, so I thought it needed a bit more character and world build and less repetitive everyday tasks and scenes
Thoughts after reading: Overall Rating and Why?
I gave it 4 stars, I really did like the characters and the coffee shop. I loved how the main characters Viv built a life and formed friends after feeling like she didn’t deserve it. She was a humble character and I would for sure love to read more about her and the rest of the characters, I would also love to learn more about Tandri.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my review.
Have a great day and Happy Reading!

I heard a lot of good things about this book and am glad to hear you enjoyed. I might pick it up at some point when i am in the mood for a cosy read. I like this new cosy fantasy genre. It’s a shame it has a new cover now as I liked this one better.
This sounds like a fun read even if it was a bit on the slower side. I definitely love the sound of Viv as a character. This has been on my maybe list and I think I want to try this on audio. I do better with audio when the pace is a bit slower.
How fun!
That sounds pretty good even if it was slow.
