Blogging, Bookish and Real Life News:

The weather is gorgeous this weekend, low 70s with such a beautiful breeze. We spent the weekend at the shore house and I always feel like this weekend is the season finale of my life and the new season starts the day after Labor Day. I always think a fresh start is in September and not in Jan. I am looking forward to the next 4 months, this is my time of year and I can’t wait for all things Pumpkin, Early/Chilly Nights, Turkey and Santa.

This week the kids are back to school and this coming Friday will be the first time I have the house to myself, you know what that means! I can take a nap….just kidding, it’s back to blogging on Fridays and Saturdays. I am so happy for the normal routine again even if I will miss the shore house. One day it will be our forever home but for now it’s a nice place to visit in the summer. I think the kittens will be happy that we are home on the weekend also, they just don’t seem to like the sitter as much as we hoped especially Calliope. Auggie doesn’t seem to mind her but we can tell they just prefer when we are home. I would bet by May they are going to be counting down the days until we all go away. lol ๐Ÿ™‚

I did have one post this week so if you have a chance stop by and help me vote for my September read it would be greatly appreciated! Link is below! ๐Ÿ™‚

I am finally able to share a few more covers that I have been working on. These are for the author N.D. Jones. Super awesome to work with and I just love how they came out. ๐Ÿ™‚

Preorder for the first book is available now it’s .99ยขย

I also created these for Laura Greenwoodย (some of you might remember her blog Trips down Imagination Road). These I am loving, I have one more to make in this collection. I think the Ruler of Rats is out already but I am not sure when the next one will be out…December I would assume lol

My design has been very busy and I am still not even close to finished with a lot of jobs. I also need to get back to making premade covers which I hope to do in October. I have other covers but I can’t share them yet. ๐Ÿ™‚ I have also been working on some blog designs. I need to learn to schedule better, I hate making people wait for designs but I also realize I can’t do that much at one time. I am hoping to be able to take a short design break in September and then get a better schedule that works best for myself and my clients.

I am still reading my RH but am a little behind since this week was crazy busy at work and I wasn’t able to get as much reading done. I am loving the book and should be finished with it by the time this goes live. I am planning to take a short break from RH and get into some other books especially the books I have on my shelf.

  1. Your weekend at the shore sounds lovely. And temperatures in the 70s? Heaven! I came back to Virginia to high 80s and high humidity. The air feels like soup after three weeks in New Mexico and Utah. Still, it’s good to be home.

Great job on your book cover designs! And I hope you can work out a schedule that works well for you.

The comic strip made me laugh. I started seeing Halloween stuff in stores in late August. It’s just too early for all that!

  2. I can’t wait for upcoming months because the weather is cooler and my favorite treats are available. I also love the holidays with the family and the food lol. The covers look great and I hope you find a schedule that works for you. Have a great week!

  3. I’m with you, the last 4 months of the year are awesome for me because Halloween, thanksgiving and Christmas lol. I mean the end of summer is bittersweet, sure, but I’m over the hot temps. The only thing I do miss is being by the water.

Wow your covers look great- seriously. I love the ones for Laura especially, but they’re all nice. Looks like your design work is going great!

Oh my gosh I love that Random- so true! I love pumpkin spice but it will be EVERYWHERE now!!!!

  4. It’s so funny, I love you but you are so wrong about this being the best time of year. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I hate that it gets cold… I have been using my heater in the morning on my drive to work because I”m cold… yes I get cold super easy. I have a blanket wrapped around me right now because Kiko has the air on way too high. And it’s the start of the school year – stressful. And I do love holidays but they are also so stressful. So yeah, I’m a summer girl all the way.

So glad that we’re both finding our way back to the blog this month!!! Yay! HUGS!!

    • Not wrong, just not the same as you. I can’t deal with heat it makes me cranky and sad. The cooler weather I can do more with. So much more fun outside without sweating. My daughter love the summer but even she said she is done with it for this year. My sister is also a summer girl, like I questions why she lives someplace with 4 seasons. She needs texas or florida.
*High Five* we got this! Lets hope we can get lots done! ๐Ÿ™‚ I also have to call you because I had an idea.

  5. Yay for cooler weather and the regular schedule. I don’t have either yet but I love it. It sounds like good times ahead. Enjoy! Anne – Books of My Heart

  6. There is something about this time of year that makes me think of fresh start too. I wonder if it is because of the school year calendar. So much of our life evolves around it when we are students and parents. I am so glad to have my Friday mornings back! I have been trying to use it for blogging, but it hasn’t seemed like enough time. There’s so much else to do as well. Oh well. It’ll get done eventually, right? I love your covers! They are so well done! They make me want to pick up the books and read them right now. I hope you have a great week, Michelle! It sounds like you have your hands full.

    • I also think so, like the new school year is like a new start and the end of the year is at the end of the summer when school starts up again. For me it just makes sense. I almost feel I need a planner that goest from September to September instead of Jan to December. My Fridays are great, I can clean or blog or binge watch, grocery shop. Its unlimited. I don’t have a lot of those Fridays but enough to get at least a lot done…maybe.

Thank you, I really enjoy doing them and I am always surprised at the end. Sometimes I can’t believe I did that. ๐Ÿ™‚
Let’s hope the full hands only lasts the first few weeks. I need a routine of normal. ๐Ÿ™‚
