Natalie Hall is stunned at the personal interest from the CEO of her company. Vulnerable, with an already bruised heart, she wants to avoid any involvement — but she can’t deny the desire he arouses in her. …but love is sweeter…

Reunited in Love Hearts on the Line
by Nadia Lee
Book 2 Publication Date: January 9, 2014

A temporary reunion… Newly jobless and adrift, former investment banker Kerri Wilson travels to Virginia to see her best friend and regroup, only to run into billionaire playboy Ethan Lloyd. It’s been years since she’s snuck out of his bed after the most amazing sex of her life, and he’s so not her type — she likes them tall, dark and†manageable. But he’s too hot to resist, and she succumbs to another sizzling, no-strings-attached (or so she thinks) night.

Unwilling to let her go this time, Ethan makes a simple proposition: a job, a place to stay, and an exclusive affair that will end when either of them finds someone else. But with her dark, painful past catching up to her, Kerri may have to bolt again — even though her heart is telling her to stay. And Ethan’s not giving her up without fighting to make their “temporary” arrangement something far more permanent…

I was able to ask the author one questions here is her response 🙂
What got you to start writing? or who inspired you to be a writer?

There’s no one person who inspired me to be a writer. I think it was a combination of the writers I read when I was young.

When I was a child, my mom bought me a translated set of Shakespeare’s plays. They were in standard prose form and modern language (no “wherefores” or punny “nunnery”). I loved how each play’s plot went, and I think I’m probably the only person out there who enjoyed (and still enjoys) Shakespeare for the plots rather than prose.

Once I was slightly older, I started reading The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. I loved the fast-paced action and history. I also loved the friendship among the four men, and the romantic subplots. (But I must admit, I was too young to truly appreciate it all that much. I just thought it was awesome the hero fell in love with a married woman…since her husband was a fool.)

But The Three Musketeers wasn’t the only action/adventure/romance I read. I also read a lot of them set in China — The Romance of Three Kingdoms, The Water Margin, Journey to the Westand so on. A lot of those novels featured men/male beings doing something cool and adventurous, while the women rarely did anything that cool (in my youthful opinion, at least).

Up to that time — BTW all the above was while I was still in elementary school — I enjoyed reading, but I never really thought to write stories myself. It just felt like writing them was what men did, and I didn’t know if I could write fun stories about characters like me (i.e., female). So instead I wrote really bad poetry since that seemed okay for a girl to do. And I dreamed of being a boy so I could have awesome adventures.

It wasn’t until I read Anne of the Green Gables that I realized female characters could do cool stuff too and have agency and strength of personality and will. And that’s when I started writing little stories during breaks in school. It seemed amazing that a girl could be empowered to DO things. So that was when I started dreaming about being a girl who did amazing things, like the protagonists from Shakespeare’s plays, Dumas and the classic Chinese novels, and started jotting them down.

Then I discovered romance novels in high school, and the rest is history. I love reading about strong women who fall in love and have it all. It’s so empowering and fun. I don’t know if I can have it all — it’s so hard to balance everything, especially now that I have a rambunctious two-year-old, but it’s cool to read about books featuring women dealing with everyday problems and situations. So that’s how I started writing and eventually zeroed in on romance. 🙂

I hope that you enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoyed writing them. Thank you! 🙂

  1. Thank you so much. Anne of Green Gables seems popular everywhere. It's also incredibly popular in Japan. It's been animated several times, and I've watched most of them. 🙂

  2. Great post! I also loved Anne of Green Gables growing up – and she may have been my first strong heroine too! I'll have to checkout these books, they sound interesting!
