News at Home: So Lazy!

OMG y’all, I have been so lazy this week! Between my car being in the shop and it being really super duper hot outside, I feel like I didn’t do a damn thing this week. I did do a lot of caption/transcribing work, so making some extra money on the side. And I did take Buffy out for walks, but she really didn’t want to be out there because of the heat, so those were quick. It was too hot to cycle, honestly. So I did some yoga, worked on a 30 day ab challenge I’m doing, did caption/transcribe work and that’s about it. Friday I had two phone interviews for a job at my gym – it’s work a couple hours a week, get the $150 gym membership for free. It’s kinda perfect because I won’t have to worry about taxes or anything, but I’ll save money and get to be someplace I really freaking love.

Friday Kiko had off – he didn’t get the 4th off, but he got Friday instead, which was kinda preferable. So Friday we took the kids – Franky and his brother Jesus – to my brother’s pool for a few hours. It was a nice day for it too at first, hot (as all week has been) but also kinda overcast, so not unbearable. And for this girl – allergic to the sun – definitely good. But then it started raining – not ideal. It turned out perfectly though, because right when the drizzle began I got a call that my car was ready! I wasn’t expecting it until Monday, so that was GREAT NEWS. We dropped everything so we could get there by closing at 4:30 – they called at 3 and that should be plenty of time, but we were across town. We made it by 4:15, car looks great and I’m FREE!

After being couped up like for two weeks I was thrilled to get back to the gym on Saturday. I took 3 classes Saturday morning – Powerbelle (Barre on Crack), Dance Club Cardio, and a 30 minute strength class. My plan today is turbo kick and maybe a core class, followed by yoga. Maybe. So glad to be back at the gym πŸ™‚

And then, enjoying my freedom :), my brother and I went to see Incredibles 2 Saturday afternoon. It says a lot that the only movie we really wanted to see is technically a kids movie. Come on Hollywood, is that the best you can do? But it was really cute and fun, so no regrets.

Oh… and on the fourth we got an email from our AP. She’s staying with us – yay! – but the douche/ass-hat/dickwad (pick whichever term for prick you’d like) that I feared would be principal is officially going to be our principal. Of course, we have yet to hear anything from him… he’s probably liking wounds, since this is a pretty big demotion for him. Y’all I’m going to be hanging on for dear life this year, because I don’t know how I’m going to work with for him. Hopefully he keeps up the tradition of ignoring Kinder, because I really want as little to do with him as possible. Of course, I have all these unofficial leadership roles that will probably put me right in his office regularly… WHAH! <—that’s me throwing a pity-party. At least I have a great team that I can lean on to get through this.

Blog News

We have our 2nd semester report card for #2018HW up – go turn in your homework and link up your Fall Semester reading lists (it’s time for new ones!). I’ll have mine up by the end of the month πŸ™‚

COYER is going really well. This past week I was doing the LIST. Here’s how I did:

  1. Dark in Death by JD Robb Read – 4 stars
  2. A School for Unusual Girls
  3. Rock Hard Read – 3.5 stars
  4. Fire Touched
  5. The Great Shelby Holmes
  6. Wait for You
  7. And One Last Thing
  8. Reap The Wind
  9. Tall Dark and Dead – Currently Reading
  10. Be With Me
  11. The Fiery Cross
  12. The Season
  13. Troublemaker by Linda Howard – Currently Reading
  14. Wanted and Wired by Vivien Jackson Read- 4 stars
  15. The Marriage Bargain

The last phase is the STRICT and I think I’m going to pass on that phase. I’m in a groove and neither of my current reads qualifies. One is a library book, the other is borrowed. So I’ll just take it easy this week, keep working on my list and BINGO board.

#FitReaders Update

Well this week I was LAZY. And it showed. I gained 3 lbs this week πŸ™ But I’m back at the gym and already feeling way more motivated. We have a challenge at my gym this month – 22 classes in 22 days. I already lost 6 days to not having a car, so watch me go crazy making up for lost time πŸ™‚ Hopefully next week I’ll be checking in saying I’m doing way better. Plus, I can start running again! So I’m going to start running in the mornings before it gets hot. I have two weeks to work on that goal of getting my time down to a 10 minute mile before my surgery.

  1. It sounds like a great week and yay for getting your car back! Hopefully the job at the gym will work out. I’m missing yoga and exercise something fierce right now though I’ve found a few workouts that don’t involve really straining my ankle which I’m enjoying. It’s definitely too hot for anything outside or high impact! Hopefully the principal situation will work out. I’ve seen situations where a demotion happens and the person who was demoted is just so done that they basically just showed up occasionally and seriously phoned it in and their 2nd in command ended up running the show. Not ideal but it sounds like this might be your hope! Have a great week!

  2. The heat finally let up here for the end of the week and today was gorgeous. Wind out of the north so we are having some nice days. Your list looks great. I liked Wanted and Wired. And I love the In Death books. Good luck with all the classes. Anne – Books of My Heart

  3. Sounds like you had a great week. I can’t seem to take a moment to be lazy. Everyone had me doing something whether I want to or not. I am hoping to take this week off and be a little lazy but usually that never happens since I already remembers my son had a dentist appoint on Monday.

I hope he isn’t too bad for you all. Maybe he learned something from being demoted…I hope!

Glad you are back to doing your gym stuff and I hope you get the job! πŸ™‚

We need a chat day! So let me know when you are available, We are home this weekend (thank goodness) so I might have time! πŸ™‚

Have a great week, Berls! Happy Reading!! oxoxox

  4. Its been so hot here as well. I took one of my dogs for a walk the other day and she was NOT impressed. Hopefully this principals attitude changes with his demotion so he won’t ruin your year. A principal can change a school so drastically!

  5. Oh my gosh, it’s been so hot here as well! I got heat exhaustion, which is never fun… I hope you are having a great weekend! πŸ™‚
