Sunday
Today was pretty good. After making Dante breakfast and lounging around doing some blog visiting while he played, I headed out for brunch with a friend at a restaurant with outdoor seating. After Brunch I picked up groceries and came home for our Psy-Changling chat. After putting away Dante’s laundry I just enjoyed sitting on the balcony – the weather was really pretty once it warmed up (this morning it was 58, but it got into the 70s) – listening to an audio book. After dinner we watched some Parenthood and then it was time to get ready for the week. I’ve been in a slump, but I’m really hoping to figure my way out of it this week.
Monday – Tuesday
Monday I tried really hard to pull myself out of my funk by going for a run. It semi worked, but when I wasn’t working (and work is slow, so that was a lot of the day) I was lying on the couch re-watching The Gilmore Girls and falling drifting in and out of sleep. I talked to my therapist and she basically confirmed what I pretty much knew, I’m depressed. I’m not sad, but I’m feeling lazy and tired. She said lazy is just the wrong word for depression, which yeah, but I am totally being lazy. Trying to pull out of it. Dinner was a shit show. Dante was in a mood. I didn’t eat dinner, instead I had a Dante Tantrum with a side of Parenting Argument. It did not taste good at all.
We’ve been having trouble with Buffy making messes in the apartment lately, so we decided to pull her crate back out. So she’s sleeping in the crate at bedtime instead of in bed with us. She’s doing really well too, it’s like she never stopped using it. Fingers crossed we stop with the messes. I did have to move the crate at 5am because she kept making noise when she moved and waking me up, though.
Tuesday Dante had his weekly therapy this morning and it went great! He is starting to participate more in songs – he immediately knew “If You’re Happy and You Know It” and started clapping. And when we did “Ring Around the Rosey” he lay down for the first time on his own. Oh and when we did “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes” he did head and toes! So exciting to see his growth.
The rest of the day was super slow and I basically watched Gilmore Girls and napped. I should have gone for another run, but I was not motivated at all. Dinner went MUCH better tonight. Dreading having to go into the office tomorrow and see people. But it’s probably exactly what I need to do. Blah.
Wednesday – Saturday
Wednesday was an in the office day, so at least I didn’t take naps lol. We had a happy hour for a co-worker that is leaving as well.
Thursday I had my nutritionist, which was really helpful. I mean, yeah I’m depressed still. But I have a plan for eating better despite my feeling depressed. And she suggested I start doing my bullet journaling again – which actually got me excited about something for the first time in a while. I haven’t done my bullet journal since 2019, the week before Dante was born. So we’ll see how it goes. I setup things on Thursday and did it on Friday. Thursday I also watched the first episode of the new Bachelorette. Total junk TV but it’s fun to watch.
Friday I was back at the office, but I was the only one there, so it was a slow day. I stopped at Phil and Zach’s when I got off and we watched a couple more episodes of One of Us is Lying on Peacock. Then I picked up Kiko’s Halloween costume from Party City curbside pickup, picked up Dante, picked up McDonald’s for dinner (blah but Dante will eat it so yay) and came home. We watched some Parenthood and I went to bed.
Saturday I made pancakes for breakfast (from scratch, not bisquik) and then spent most the day working on my late assignment. I’m enjoying getting better at CSS but the design element is annoying. Headed to bed much later than I planned on, hopefully Dante lets me sleep in tomorrow *fingers crossed*

This week I finished:
I’m participating in 4 reading challenges this year. Here’s how I’m doing:
Backlist Reader hosted by Lark @ Bookwyrms Hoard: 37 books
Library Love hosted by Books of My Heart & Angel’s Guilty Pleasures: 13 books
New Release hosted by (un)Conventional Bookworms: 12 books
COYER (Fall) hosted by Because Reading: 9 books
Added to My Shelf
I’m trying to be more responsible about keeping track of the books I acquire, so I’m going to start sharing them again. If I share them here, surely I’ll remember to add them to Goodreads, right?

Hoping you have a good week. Depression stinks, it sucks all the color out of the day.
I hope your therapist will be able to help you! I’m sure that your current working situation isn’t doing you any good either. I hope you can have a change of scenery! Hang on!
I trained my dog to wake me up at night if he needs to go out. It took about year to do though. But thankfully no more messes on the floor in my room at night.
I never watched Gilmore Girls but did binge Grey’s Anatomy recently since I had never watched it before.
I love Gilmore Girls for the banter. But seriously Luke should always have been the one. I’m sorry you are feeling so badly. I get that way at times, but I push myself into getting things done and that seems to energize me. I do have more ability to actually be lazy at times for parts of the day though. Here’s to a great week! I’m looking forward to Shards of Hope.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Sounds like busy times. I love rewatching old favorite shows myself. I tend to watch them episode by episode when I am exercising in the morning. One episode per workout. So it’s a long slow binge! Lol. I recently decided to rewatch Ugly Betty! Haven’t watched that since it aired on TV. I forgot how cute it was, but there are times I wish Betty would stand up for herself a little more. Lol.
Nice new reads! Haven’t heard of these authors but hope you enjoy them all!
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
