Blogging, Bookish and Real Life  News:

Sorry for not visiting or commenting last week. The Christmas Spectacular was fantastic and we didn’t get back until late. This week was so busy at work, I had to stay late to get one job finished. It took me a couple days but I am so glad it is over. Friday I finished up Christmas shopping and we had the tree lighting at the HS, my daughters cheered at the event. It was FREEZING! Saturday I spent all day at my moms baking cookies, today I plan to visit, comment and get some blogging finished. The next two weeks shouldn’t be too bad and I am so excited that Christmas is almost here.

Reading has been going slow, I figured I would jump into something a little different and fantasy is usually my go to plus I love Jasmine Walt (she also writes under Jessica Drake) so I am sure I am going to like this.

This week I am hoping to have all the Challenges up on the Because Challenge website. COYER is currently going and you still have plenty of time to sign up. This week, the Reading Assignment is back and all NEW. Bookish Resolutions (which is now hosted by Berls and I) and a NEW challenge A Year in Anthologies. (need to make that logo). I have a lot of design work to get to this week.

What I am extremely happy about at the moment? I had two vacation days left so I am planning to use them the week of Christmas. This will be the first time in 7 Years I will be home with the kids that week, you have no idea how excited I am plus I really need a break I haven’t had off since August. It is a much needed break, I am so happy. 🙂

  1. You were busy! I hope this week was less so.

Yum! Cookies! I want some! Gimme, gimme, gimme!

  2. Oh that’s awesome you get a little extra time at Christmas! Good for you! And it’s been COLD here too! Like 20’s nonstop. Ergh. Still I’m not sweating in 90 degree heat so I guess it’s okay lol.

I gotta do some shopping… someday.

    Have a super week Michelle!

  3. You’ve already finished your Christmas shopping?? Wow! We’re done shopping for the kids, because we started months ago. It’s easier to buy things when we see them, than it is to do everything in the month of December. Shopping for my in-laws and parents is far more difficult. I hope you have a lovely reading week!

    • It’s harder for me to shop early for them since my daughters birthday is in November and they are always changing what they want. I finished all the major shopping two weeks ago, Friday was stocking stuff and family gifts. I still have gift cards to get and something for the husband, he’s the hardest. 🙂

      • My daughter’s (twins) birthday is in November, too! I feel like they get everything then, so it’s hard to shop for them just a month later. I love shopping for my husband! I always try to find a meaningful gift, and one that’s completely ridiculous.

  4. That’s great to hear about the vacation 🙂 the free Christmas days here fall in really lucky places, so basically everyone in my country will have a mini vacation with a few days in between, if they don’t cancel or move those to a saturday before or after. My boyfriend won’t be home for Christmas, but I guess I’ll also get some time off basically everything xD

    • Some companies give the week of christmas off as a set vacation, I always wished my boss would do that instead of a christmas bonus. I would love to spend the week of christmas with the kids. They wont be young for much longer.

My husband has to work the days I have off so I plan to make the most of the days but I will miss him being home.

  5. Oh yes, you do need a break after working straight through like that and I’m sure your kids will love it. Sounds like you have some exciting events and challenges coming on the blog. How neat about the girls cheering at the Christmas tree ceremony.

    Enjoy your week, Michelle!

  6. Yay for not adding to the TBR pile! I didn’t add too much myself this week either! Pretty proud, yet it still feels weird not buying a book! December didn’t have a lot of releases for me sadly! I have one coming out this week though, I better order that one now that I think of it! Lol. Hope you have a wonderful time off with the Christmas holiday! I’m hoping to take a long weekend this week, a day to do stuff and a day to just read! Lol! Happy Reading!

    • I have two owlcrate boxes coming and I also am hoping the family will get a few books for me for Christmas so I don’t want to get too many. Plus a lot of the ones I am really waiting for don’t come out until next year.
My kids are so excited that I will be home we plan to go to breakfast and I plan to just relax as much as possible.
