Blogging & Real life:

Meet the newest member of #TheParsonsPets
Poppy VonSchweetz

We pick her up on July 9th. We are super excited. Some people cry and are upset when they lose a loved one. I adopt animals, I am hoping this helps me heal. While I know it will take a long time to get over losing my dad, I am hoping this little bundle of fluff with help with the healing process . So get this… kids call my dad Pop and her name is Poppy, when I adopted her I had no idea what her name was, then the woman emails me yesterday to say “oh by the way her name is Poppy” how is that for coincidence. We figured to honor him we would keep her name as Poppy. We got to see her on Saturday and she is so tiny and so cute. Fingers crossed the rest of the Parsons Pets like her.

The rest of the week has been busy, work still hasn’t let up and I am still taking work home which is pushing my blog posts back. I want to do all the posts but I need to first do all the work. I can’t wait until we slow down again. I have been writing down ideas and organizing so that is a plus. I can’t wait to start writing posts again, I really do miss blogging but work comes first…I hate being an adult!

Reading:

My reading is rather slow since I haven’t had a lot of time with work. I am still working on Kings of the Wyld and plan to start something else soon. Trying to get back into doing one ebook and one physical at a time. My daughter has a summer reading program and they need to read one book from a list. We picked a book and I plan to read it with her, so we are going to do our own summer book club reading. This way I can help her since she struggles in the area of reading comprehension and gathering her thoughts to put it on paper.

I may or may not have gone a little crazy with the book grabbing the last two week. I’m not sorry, not even a little bit! lol

Goldilock and Agnes at the end of the World I have had my eye on for a while now and I wasn’t sure but I figured I had a little money to spend so I went ahead and grabbed them in physical format. I also have two other books that are coming but aren’t released until the 30th.  Like I said I AM NOT SORRY! lol

  1. Oh my gosh that cat is adorable! What a sweetie!!! I hope she fits right in and your other pets just warm right to her.

    Adulting does suck. 🙂

I have All Our Twisted secrets and I need to read the next Welch book too.

  2. Aww Poppy just looks adorable. And I hope having a new pet around will help you heal a bit and what a great way to honor your father’s memory by keeping her name as Poppy. I hope she’ll get along well with the other pets and I hope to see more pictures of her in the future :).

I am sorry to hear your work still is so busy, that doesn’t sound nice how you’re still taking work home so often. I hope your work slow down soon.

It’s good to go a bit cray with the book buying now and then. I hope they’re all good ones and you have more time to read soon. Have a great week!

  3. OMG! Poppy is adorable. I just want to cuddle her cute stinkin fluffiness. I’m so sorry for your loss. I do think pets help us a lot with the grieving process and just over all day to day stress.

I’ve been working from home too. Business has picked up again so it has been very busy. My reading has picked up again though so at least that seems to be back to normal again. Now if I could just get back into my workout routine.

  4. Yay, your getting her! She is so cute and I love the name Poppy! Hope everyone loves her, she will match Dexter! 🙂 Great bunch of books! I forgot about Not Even Bones I want to read that one, I went and put it on my library list…lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  5. Aww! She’s so sweet! Poppy seems like a fated name for her. It’s funny you mention buying a pet when you lose someone because my sister did this twice we lost our grandparents. She bought a dog when we lost our grandmother and then she bought another we lost our grandfather. I’m very sorry for your loss, but happy to hear about the new kitty.

Nice new reads! Those are new to me ones but I hope you enjoy them all!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!

Poppy is so adorable, and I’m sure she’ll adore her new home and family. What a blessing that you adopt fur babies. I know it’s hard to lose a parent – I lost both of mine, and it was so rough. Please continue to hang in there, and our thoughts are with you. Hugs, RO
