Week in READview:

Real life & Blogging:

Happy August! I currently feel like I am still trying to get through March. The weather has been stupid Hot and I can’t wait for Fall/Winter. I miss crispy air and when it gets dark early. I miss cuddling by an open window and cool breezes. I miss pumpkin everything, fuzzy socks and comfort foods. I HATE THE SUMMER!

Anyway….

I was planning to do the Sunday post every other week but we were away on the fourth, the next sunday I was cleaning the house and last weekend my daughter and I went to the shore house to spend time with my mom on my dad’s birthday. We sort of just hung around and it was really weird to celebrate his birthday and him not being there to celebrate with. I love the shore house but I think for the rest of this year I plan to skip it, since it just doesn’t feel the same right not without him.

After having our new kitten, Poppy, for 3 weeks we finally let her out of her play yard at night to roam the house with the rest of the animals. She did really good her first night, however Saturday night she discovered feet under the blanket. She bites those and it hurts. After we were able to stop her from chewing on us, she finally found a place to sleep and once again she did pretty good. It’s going to take some time to get her used to schedules and rules but she is a cutie and super sweet…when she’s not biting you. 😀

Work has finally slowed down…BUT now we have no work at all. The governor pushed back indoor dining so we are sort of stuck until that opens again. I can tell my boss is super stressed and it’s not really my fault that we are so slow but he tends to be grumpy when we are. I have started doing more stuff with my side business Limabean Designs so if anyone is interested, I can make you whatever you need. I am even open if you are looking to update your blog look. I can make all the pieces for you and you would just have to pop them on your blog. Let me know if anyone is interested or if you know anyone looking for someone to give them a refresh on their blog or a new logo.

Blogging has been going ok, I spent a LOT of time Friday organizing post and getting stuff put in my calendar. I have a set plan for what needs to be done and am going to start setting aside some time to do that. I did a few things but hope to do more today. I have off for a couple of days next week so I plan to do some Design, Blogging, Reading and Siming. ;D

Reading:

One day I will read again lol. For a review blog I really do suck at reading books that could be reviewed. 🙂 My problem is I want to read but I want to read all the books all at the same time. I might need to make a list so I can get back into reading books, since I do LOVE lists. 🙂

I did finish Goldilocks and it was pretty good. I actually found the entire story to be so interesting and the end still blows me away.

  1. I’m with you on the heat, Michelle. Summer is my least favorite season (so naturally I was born in Florida LOL) and I always just endure it until we get to fall/winter.

Sorry to hear about the grumpy boss. I’m sure he’s under a lot of pressure/stress but being unpleasant with you must make for a stressful work environment.

Another list maker… twinning! 🙂 I will invent reasons for lists. LOL And I feel you on the whole: I want to read but I want to read everything and I can’t choose one so I just read nothing conundrum. 🙂 I don’t think I’ve ever read anything by Madison Faye. I need to try her out.

  2. I’m kinda looking forward to fall too. I like being able to open the window without crazy humid air blasting in lol. Give me the cool breezes too! And Poppy sounds cute, except for the biting part haha. Hopefully she outgrows that soon!

I am not reading much either. I have a whole list of books I want to get to and I just… don’t.

    Be well this week!!!

  3. I am glad Poppy is working out for you and your family! She is super cute! I am ready for slightly cooler days but not the getting dark early junk. I hate it I wish it didn’t get dark till 8pm all year long! 🙂 I might like colder weather if my room wasn’t like living in an ice cube all winter long. :\ Our house is so drafty that I freeze all winter so it’s uncomfortable and I count down the days till I can thaw out…lol. 🙂 I am ready for pumpkin everything though…lol.

Have a great week and happy reading!

  4. Yeah working in food (which I do as well) is so hard and stressful right now. The rules are always changiing and we have to adapt and I feel that frustration. Hope it gets better for you soon though.

If I ever feel like updating my design I will let you know. Love the look of your site.

Looks like you grabbed up some great reads there. It definitely is a struggle to read at times right?

  5. SJ

O h you’ve got some good looking reads up there. Sorry about your work! Hope things get better soon!

  6. Jen

Sounds like the trip was a mixed bag. *HUGS* I hope your mom enjoyed you being with her on your Dad’s birthday. Hopefully next summer you will be able to return and be filled with good memories. Now for the kitten – photos, please?? Poppy sounds so cute!

  7. I am very sorry to hear that your work had to close again. Here in Germany we can go to restaurants but we have to give them our adress in case a covid case comes up and most of the people want to sit outside for lunch or dinner. So most of the restaurants still have their indoor dining spaces closed if they have some outdoor dining as well. It is not great but at least they are able to do some business. Happy reading and have fun with your cat *smile*

  8. Sounds like busy times and not so busy. Sorry to hear that work is slow again. I think everyone might be having that again eventually. I’m just hoping with my new job everything will still be okay. Glad the kitten enjoyed the outdoors, but sorry to hear she’s a biter too. I was bit by a dog when I was kid, so it’s made me over cautious with any animal these days. My grandpa’s cat like to bit too when the moment pleased her. She wasn’t the nicest cat, but she kept my grandpa company so we put up with her habits. Lol.

Nice new reads! All totally new to me ones but I hope you enjoy each and every one of them!

    Here’s my StS

    Have a GREAT day!
