Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
On the Blog, Books & Real Life:
Just a few minor issues with Ryan this week but we are working on it and hope to start getting things better organized for him by September. His therapy is going very good and I am loving the lady that does it, super sweet and just amazing. I am going to see about getting a psychiatrist for him instead of using the schools, just very hard to find with our insurance and that specializes in what Ryan is going through. But you know me by now, I never give up, I will find him what he needs.
Hamster Update: Little Miss Biscuit is doing very good, still trying to make her great escape but she seems very happy. She lets me hold her and loves to run in her ball while the dog cases her around the house. He follows her all over the house and she just runs into him like he isn’t even there, Buttons (Cat) still really doesn’t care that she is here, not sure if she really cares any of us are here. 😉 It’s hard to take Biscuit out because Dexter is always around but we are very careful and she is very sweet. BUT, She did bite Julia on the finger, not in a mean way, Julia usually gives her treats and I think she got confused. Julia was upset but I told her every single one of my hamsters bite me at least once, so it’s not big deal. Buttons bites us all the time but that’s because she’s a moody old lady. BTW, Meanie (hermit crab) is still around, loving life in Ryan’s room, I realized I will be very sad if anything should happen to him. He is actually fun to have around.
Still working on reviews, I seem to just really want to avoid writing them but I am getting backed up and after a couple weeks I tend to forget. Thank goodness for my review book I made otherwise I would be so confused. I have been reading a lot so I need to at some point stop so I can finished all the reviews… *whines* but book are so nice and I really don’t wanna stop. I am hoping by the time this posts all the reviews will be done…I hope!
I had a cover love moment and realized a book was a fantasy/historical romance type of book. I haven’t read those since I was 18 so I was a little worried going back into them since I haven’t read them in a long time. Guess What? I don’t know why I ever stopped, I devoured a book this week that I just got on Netgalley because I just couldn’t wait. I think I found something new to read…again! 🙂
I am officially counting down the days until we go to Disney! I need to get some stuff done since I will be MIA for that week, like really MIA. I want to completely unplug only really using Instagram for pictures while we are enjoying our time with Mickey Mouse. I am hoping to have a full update when I get back. I will post a note when it gets closer so you know when the blog will go dark. I am really looking forward to spending the week with the kids at the Happiest Place on Earth!

Books read & currently reading:
New on the Bookshelf/Kindle:
Feeling a little like I wanted to read something different and this is different but Destined for a King is FANTASTIC!
So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading
I am sorry to hear Ryan had some small issues this week, but I hope you can find a good psychiatrist for him.
And yes our rats bit us now and then as well, not often, but it could happen. And it was best not to feed them through the cage bars as then they might think it was candy and bit your finger. Most likely the hamster just got confused or was too excited for her candy.
Good luck with getting those reviews written. I actually like writing reviews and I forbid myself to start a new book until I reviewed the previous one. Once you get behind it’s much harder to catch up, so I try and not have that happen.
Picking up a genre you don’t read a soften can be fun as it feels so new again. Destined for king sounds interesting, glad you enjoyed it.
I hope you have an amazing time at Disney World! And I am looking forward to hear about your recap once you get back. Have a great week!
So glad things are going good with Ryan. The new therapist sounds wonderful. I hope things continue to improve for him! I was also way backed up on reviews from the entire summer. I think I was also secretly avoiding them, but wouldn’t admit it to myself. I finally had to break down and write them before I forgot important things. I wrote 10 this weekend. I’m caught up now, but I feel like I’m going to fall back into that pattern since school will be starting for me basically next week. I hope you get some time and energy to sit down and finish yours!
Sounds like you had a pretty busy week. That is a lot of animals to care for. I’m glad they are all doing well. I hope you find a psychologist for your son. Don’t even get me started on insurance and how much I hate it. Good luck. Glad that therapist is doing well.
I can picture Dexter chasing that ball around with Biscuit in it…lol. 🙂 I always love finding a new genre to grab up. I think that is why I have these weird moods…like right now I really want to read just mysteries and horror, but I got to throw in some of the others stuff I have for review…lol. You never know, next year might be in the mood for something different. 🙂
You did so well with only getting a couple of books…I will try….TRY mind you to do better this week. 🙂
Have a great week! ox

It took me some time to find a Psychiatrist for my son. It gets expensive, I know. Hope you find the right one and he gets the guidance he needs:)
Since when do cats care if we’re there except to clean the litter box and feed them. LOL
I like reading about your menagerie. 🙂 I’m jealous of your trip to Disney but I know you’ll have fun! I have to write my reviews right away too or I forget too much, sigh. The hardships of being a book blogger. 😀 Have a great week!
Oh have a magical time at Disney!!! I love that place!! Enjoy unplugging from the world too!
Disney! Love love love Disney! I’d be counting down the days too. Glad things are going well in pet world. That’s hilarious about your cat. I’m not sure one of ours is really aware we’re around either but she’s on the crazy side. That’s great about Ryan’s therapy and good luck with the psychiatrist. Finding anything medical related is such a challenge. Glad the historical romance/fantasy didn’t let you down. It’s such fun when we find an author or genre we’ve neglected and realize we still love it. Have a great week!
Buttons is a bit of a Diva, she voices her opinion often and I think it’s that she wishes we would all leave 🙂
I am hoping to find one for him when we get back from vacation. I worry about how his behavior has been but I am also hoping we can get a behaviorist for him which will be extremely helpful.
I honestly missed the whole historical romance reads. I am excited to have read one and looking forward to finding more. I think it will really help with my mood reading since I think I found what I think I have been missing.
only about 20 days left till Disney I can’t wait 🙂
I hope things work out for Ryan. I have good insurance but still had problems finding care for my daughters depression. But I hope you find someone good to help Ryan.
I’m behind on my reviews too so I’m trying to get caught up. I love the review book you created and I need to make one for myself. I type up notes but I would be lost if something happened to my laptop.
Disneyworld sounds like so much fun. I hope you have a great time and I can’t wait to see your pictures. Have a great week Michelle!
I am hoping I can find someone as much as I like the Phyactric Nurse at the school I would prefer someone that will see him more often than her.
I hate being behind because it does stress me a little however now that I only have 3 left to write I feel a lot better and think I can get into setting up some other stuff.
I can’t wait to go, I will post a lot of pictures plus have a bunch for when I get home. I love it there. The kids are at a good age to really enjoy it now. Last time was 4 years ago and Julia was only 4.
Sounds like you have a lot on your plate so I don’t blame you for dragging the reviews. At least it sounds like everything is working in the right direction which is the important part. Hamsters are a funny creature, I had a few as kids and they spent their whole lives getting out and the one time I had to put the girls together I ended up with babies. lol she has 10 of them lol.
You guys are going to have so much for at Disney. I wish we went more it’s only 6 hours away but getting the time off is tough for my husband. I hope you have an amazing read!!!!
We are trying 🙂
They do have a lot lol. They are fun to have and Biscuit is really cute.
I can’t wait, it’s been 4 years so it will be nice to get back again. hoping to get back to going almost every year if possible. It really is my favorite place to go.
Glad to heart the animals are doing well. 🙂 And the hermit crab is still kicking huh? Awesome.
Good luck with the reviews. And Disney trips- the anticipation is always so fun. Those last few days before you leave- can barely think about anything else lol. Have a great week Michelle!
Yup, he seems quite happy 🙂
I have 3 left to write so I did pretty good. Going to finish those today then I will be review free 🙂
I need to start packing soon but I already can’t wait we haven’t been in a while. I am really looking forward to it and the kids are the perfect age to really enjoy it. 🙂
