Light Blog, Heavy Design and A Weekend Away! ~ WIR & SP

Posted May 28, 2017 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 18 Comments

This weekend is memorial weekend in the US. We are spending the time down at the Jersey Shore with the family. It’s a nice relaxing weekend. Today we are having a BBQ and it also just so happens to be my Birthday Today! ๐Ÿ™‚ So I am hoping to stop by and visit most of you today if I can. ๐Ÿ™‚

Light blog but heavy design, I have been working on clients all week and really didn’t do a lot more. I was hoping to be a little ahead on the blog by now but my design work is backing up. Two more weeks until softball is over and things might go finally back to normal? I am hoping.

Next Saturday my daughter and I will be at BookConย we were only allowed two Autograph tickets so I gotย Laini Taylor for me and Shannon Hale for her. I have no idea what books they are signing because the website doesn’t give any info on Saturday only Sunday. If the con isn’t bad and my daughter wants to do it the next day I might get tickets for Sunday if they are still available, we just wont be able to get any ticketed signings because they are all sold out now. This will be my first time driving into the city, so wish me luck, I am totally freaking out.

Otherwise, once the busy stops I should be able to function like a “normal” adult. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am just happy it’s not a blog slump and/or reading slump that is keeping me from the blog! June is a mini blog ahead and I am in need of it and soooo looking forward to it. ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Happy Birthday! Mine is next Saturday, and my Mom’s was last Wednesday, so we’re just a bunch of Gemini’s! ๐Ÿ˜€

I hope Bookcon goes well for you and have fun! I haven’t been to a multiple author signing like that, where you have to have tickets and you’re only allowed to pick a certain number. Worldcon didn’t do that, and I guess that’s really the only big book thing I’ve been to that wasn’t for a specific author. Even then, they limited the number of books you could have signed, and you had to bring your own, or buy one from a vendor at the con, the author did not have any at their signing table. I would hope that if you had to buy a ticket it would include a book though. I know how nerve wracking going to something that like can be, I was terrified before going to Worldcon, not knowing what to expect, but I got to know my way around our downtown Bartle Hall really well because of it, and it ended up going really well and being a great set of memories for me!

I’ve heard good things about Lumberjanes, I’m going to have to check it out. Love the cover on Serafina, and the Steampunk Alice book sounds interesting!

    Have a great week!

    • Thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

This is the first time they are doing ticket authors, they had some last year for the BIG authors but not all, this year all authors have tickets and they do have some in booth signings. I am hoping to get to as many as we can. It will be a fun experience to share with my daughter.

So far I am really liking the Alice book. Serafina is book 3 but the series is awesome! Worth checking out.

  5. Happy birthday! And enjoy the BBQ (yum). Hope you guys have a blast at Bookcon!

Did you like Lumberjanes? I thought it was pretty good although the art didn’t always work for me. I’m debating whether to review…

    Have a great Memorial Day!
