Week in READview:

On & Off the Blog:

How is Christmas next week? The last few weeks have been busy. I went to Kentucky with my daughter for a cheer comp and last week she had another but it snowed and was cancelled the second day. She drove to that one alone, so proud of how she is feeling so confident about driving. I was surprised how she was so ready to jump right in. (oh and she won first at both comps and also got a bid for Summit in florida)

Holidays are the worst when you are missing a parent and even worst when you are missing both. (I am sure some of you understand) this is our first Christmas without both of them and I am struggling. I am trying to be all in but I am still very sad. My mom always baked cookies and we just felt so overwhelmed that we plan to do them next year and bake all the cookie but I also feel bad for not making them. I know I shouldn’t feel bad but I do.

This week was a weird weather week, we had lots of different temps and events throughout the week. It’s like the weather gods just don’t know what they want to do. So it was Spring, Winter and Fall, all in one week.

Finished all my Christmas Shopping and was able to wrap all my gifts. Went a little overboard this year but after everything, it was totally worth it. I can’t wait to give everyone their gifts on Christmas.

I was told (by my husband) not to get any book but I had to get something from Barnes and Noble and the lady at the Starbucks said Murder at Holly House was only $5  with our purchase of coffees so I couldn’t say no. (I found a loop hole)

I might have to do a post about candles because I seem to be obsessed. I just ordered from Spill the Tea Sis Apothecary and the candles are pretty good, they smell amazing, They all say a Manifesting Candles, so i’ll burn the one that says Krampus after the Holidays (eck!) just in case.

I am hoping to have a Sunday Post next week but if I don’t Have a very Happy Holiday and an amazing New Year! I’ll see ya in 2026!

  1. Wishing you a Merry Christmas with your family. Be gentle with yourself; the holidays are indeed hard when you are missing someone. You’ll make the cookies when it feels right to do so; the same with other traditions. Hold each other close and celebrate the love you share, and the love you still share with those who are no longer here, but still a part of you.

  2. Glad things are going as well as they can be! The first holiday without loved ones is always the hardest. I know the holidays haven’t really felt the same since my grandma passed and that was quite a long time ago. I guess they just aren’t quite the same where the whole family gathered. Now it’s just my immediate family and that’s fine with me. You gotta love a good book deal and $5 for a book with a coffee purchase you already needed to buy is a great deal!

I hope you enjoy your lovely new reads!
