Week in READview:

This has felt like the longest month ever! With everything that happened this month, it could totally count as a year. lol

Last Sunday we celebrated my moms birthday, it was 7 of us and we eat dinner and sang happy birthday. It was nice, she was sad to not have my dad here but we got through it together and it’s one first she made it through.

On Tuesday UNEMPLOYMENT FINALLY CALLED ME! I was so happy but now had to wait 5 days to be able to do my first claiming of benefits. So I believe I can actually do it today. I am hoping to get the extra money because what they pay out isn’t going to cut it. I had hoping the extra would give me time to brush up on stuff or take an on-line class or two but I am not sure I will be able to do that but I guess I will find out at some point today or tomorrow. I have been looking for something remote or temp remote so if we decided to move I wont have to look for a new job. We aren’t sure what we are doing yet since we are waiting for my mom to decided what she wants to do.

In other news, it’s going to snow Tonight into Tuesday Night….like a winters worth of snow in one day. Seriously! I like my snow spread out! They are still working on the numbers (by they I mean the weather people) so it could be any where from 6 to 18 and some areas maybe 20. I do love winter when it’s spread out the entire winter and not in one day. This week was in the teens with a feel of the singles. Yay, I’m more of a 30s types of girl. And the wind was wicked, I chased garbage cans around the street at 5am on Thursday, so that was fun. I even gained a new can, no idea where it came from.

The best thing about this week was I set up a “home office” I have been in the kitchen at the table for at least 2 years and my butt hates the kitchen chairs so now I have a nice corner that I can blog, design and game. I do have to share it with the cats (not sure who invited them) but it feels so nice to have my own personal area! 🙂

I am going to add a cork board to hang notes and stuff but otherwise it is good for now. I am loving it. Plus my butt doesn’t hurt anymore. 🙂 (Auggie being a good guard cat)

Read, Currently Reading, Next:

Wicked Saints was pretty good, I actually really enjoyed it, I have lots of questions and just ordered the next book so when the last one comes out in April I can binge read it, I buddy read this with Stephanie from Once Upon a Chapter. Next I jumped into some steamy quick reads and I was planning to stop tomorrow but there are three books in the series so I will finish it off this week 🙂 I still haven’t been very good with writing review but I plan to try and get back into that this month. I also found a series for February that comes out each day like the one during December, so I might do that and post the reviews like I did for the December series, Mistletoe Montana.

What I grabbed:

This is the only thing I got this week, My Owlcrate Book Box. Lore is one of my must reads for this year and the cover is a different version than what they are selling and I love it. Poppy Von Schweetz not included, just a nosy demon kitty.

  1. I’m glad the unemployment came through to help while you continue your job search… I wish you lots of luck! I personally hate job hunting in the best of times so can only imagine how difficult and frustrating it is in the covid times. 🙁

Yay for your desk! Very nice. Lore is one I’m super excited to read this year too. I love Greek Mythology and retellings.

  2. Glad the unemployment is kicking in and yay for getting your office area set up. It looks great. Fun Owl Crate kit and book. We were supposed to get a dumping of snow, but it went around us and we got only a few inches which is easily doable. 🙂

    Have a good week, Michelle.

  3. I am so happy unemployment finally called and you got your space set up. Now you can do things. It’s hard but if you can do things like setting up your office or other projects you didn’t have time for while working I think you’ll feel better. And some more reading! I wish you the best in finding what comes next.

  4. That’s good unemployment finally got in touch with you! Hopefully that will help things. I hope you’re able to find a new and better job soon! And yay for the new office space.

Nice new read! I decided to skip the Owl Crate this month since it seemed like the book was the same as Fairy Loot and it wasn’t one I needed extra copies of, though I am curious about it! Hope you enjoy it!
