Recapping 2018 and looking ahead to 2019
Feel free to join us!
out with the OLD: 2018
I’m not going to lie, this year was really hard for me. Halfway through I had basically given up on everything….design, blogging, reading…everything. I hit a rough spot in my life, it was no ones fault, just let everything (including my job) and everyone (negative people) get to me that I shouldn’t. Depression SUCKS, it can really ruin just about everything and now has consumed a year of my life but not anymore. For the last two months I have been “fixing” myself, trying to do things with no pressure and taking the time for myself. I am in a much better place right now and very proud of myself for being able to get myself better. Once in a while I still have minor set back but work through them easier than I did 6 months ago. I have been doing all the things I love and keeping myself busy. I have been setting schedules and following a plan, I seem to have an easier time with that. I also try to laugh more and stay out of the negative. Just because a day might not start positive doesn’t mean you can’t turn it into a positive. Sometimes you just have to shrug your shoulder and move on.
Thank you to those that come visit me. I know my visiting has dropped and my followers are low and that is ok, I understand. Next year, I plan to work on getting back my followers and my life…let’s chat about next year.
in with the NEW: 2019
I love blogging and the book community. I love reading and sharing my thoughts. I might not be able to fill the blog like I used to but even 3 or 4 posts a week is perfect for me. Because Reading isn’t going anyplace I can promise you that.
Visiting is something I want to work on more, I miss seeing what you all are doing and what is going on in the book community. I also miss finding out what books you read, reading reviews and finding new reads. I am planning to do a visit back so if you comment, I will come to you to comment and hopefully I can get a pretty good routine going and will be able to expand that to just visiting like I used to. I MISS YOU ALL!!! 🙂 Now I just need to find a better way to visit you all on my phone because I would honestly rather do that then spend 3 hours on Facebook, however I have become rather fond of Twitter so I might start chatting there more. 🙂
This last year wasn’t all bad, we did get those two crazy kittens, my family is healthy and I know I am loved. I think I just tend to get myself a little overwhelmed and just need to take a break every once in a while and focus on what makes me happy. 🙂
I am looking forward to 2019, it’s a new chapter in my life and I have 365 days to make it as amazing as possible.

What are you looking forward to in 2019?
Thanks for stopping by to Check out my recap of 2018 and what’s to come in 2019
Have a great day and Happy Reading!
I’m so sorry this year was so rough. It’s so hard not to let the negative take over everything. This year feels like it was spoiled for me because of sickness though in reality I was only sick for about 2 months! I hope 2019 is better and you’re able to keep the negativity from taking over which is so hard to do! Give those kittens a good snuggle. I love seeing their faces on Instagram!
I am sad to hear you had such a low point this year, but that’s great you’re doing better and working hard to keep there. I hope 2019 is an awesome year for you. I think your goals for next year sound good and 3 or 4 posts a week is plenty in my opinion. I usually do 3 or 4 post max a week and that works best for me. I predicted a few of the books on your best of 2019 list. I am glad to hear you had some great reads this year even tough you didn’t have that good of a reading year.
2018 seems to have been a very tricky year for a lot of my blogging friends… Sending you lots of well wishes for 2019! <3
Yay glad to hear you’re feeling more like yourself- and hope your holidays were nice too! I love the look of Small Spaces, and Sky in the Deep was awesome.
Hopefully 2019 will be a great year!!
Here’s to a better 2019. I like Katherine Arden so I may have to read Small Spaces. I am doing pretty well at blog hopping but it’s easy for me to get way behind with a busy few days since there are so many I want to see. And it really adds to my TBR. Anne – Books of My Heart
Life happens. The good, the bad. The beautiful, the ugly. I wish I had some sage words of wisdom for you, as I also deal with depression (which is like nothing anyone who has never dealt with it can really quite “get” in reality). It affects each of us differently. But it is a daily battle which I’m winning, most days now. 🙂 Hold on tight to those you love (it always sounds like you have an amazing family from your posts) and take life one step at a time. You set the pace for your life, for what is right and works best for you. I wish you great joy this coming year, and that your plans work out the way you need them to.
Thank you for your words. They mean a lot! I hope you have the most amazing year ever!
Good luck with next year’s goals! Keeping a blog running is hard. Commenting back is something I struggle with. I have to make time to sit down and do it.
