This feature is for short reviews, reviews of books in a series where it might feel repetitive, or (as Michelle suggested) books I was too lazy to write a “real” review for. Today’s books definitely fit the third definition. I don’t know what happened but I made minimal notes and yet I gave them high ratings, so I feel they deserve a showing and some effort. You ready?

I don’t know what it is with me and this series. I’ve been trying to read it for YEARS. And here’s the thing. I have LOVED every freakin’ book I’ve picked up in the series. This was no exception. The dream attacks were brilliant. The stress it causes in Bones and Cat’s relationship? Amazeballs! I mean, I read this in December 2015 and I’m sitting here writing a review in December 2017 and I remember specific points. That’s great! Why didn’t I review it? Why haven’t I read more? Not a clue. Not a freakin’ clue! But I’m gonna try again real soon!Master Vampire "DreamSnatcher" Gregor believes half-vampire Cat is his wife and he won't stop until he takes her from her vampire husband Bones. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Gregor can bring back Cat's memories. Did she marry Gregor in Paris? He may be the baddest bloodsucker she's ever needed to take down . . . and may result in an early grave.
I received this book for free from Author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

When this series started I was seriously gung-ho. I loved the characters and I was so eager for some of their stories. Then it drifted off into characters I had never heard of yet and started getting seriously repetitive. My eagerness died down. However, whenever I pick one of these books up, I seriously enjoy them. I love the supernatural elements and I love the romance – lust and sex too! – and when I get to one where some of those original characters that pulled me in have a strong showing, I eat it up. This one brought us back to replay of a favorite scene from a favorite earlier book, so yeah, no complaints there! I really need to return to this series – I think the character I’ve been waiting for finally had his book 🙂 Things Good Girls Don't Do by Codi GaryA snow leopard shifter exiled from his pride twenty years ago, Harbin treads the dark path of life as an assassin, driven by a hunger for vengeance, mercilessly hunting the Archangel members who attacked his kin, murdering his mother and sister.
When a new contract comes in and the mark is a snow leopard shifter, he can’t resist venturing into the mortal world on a personal mission to find out why one from a normally peaceful species now has a price on their head. What he finds in a rundown nightclub isn’t quite what he expects—a beautiful snow leopard female that awakens a fierce hunger inside him.
Aya has spent seventeen years living in London, immersed in the underbelly of the fae world, keeping her head down and her tail out of trouble. But when trouble walks right into her life in the form of a sinfully handsome, dangerous assassin, she is pulled into a whirlwind of events that stir up the nightmares of her past but might just give her a shot at putting those ghosts to rest—if she can resist the dark allure of a male she knows is her fated mate.
Can Harbin and Aya resist the passionate fire that blazes between them as they chase the vengeance they both crave? Or will they surrender to their deepest desires?

Here’s the deal. I gave this four stars. And from reading my notes, the summary, and other reviews I know why I liked it. Has a small town element, close friendships, Good girl, bad boy. But… and this is pretty big. I don’t remember a thing about it! Even after reading reviews I’m like, “what happened in that book?” That tells me that while it was a good read at the time, it wasn’t memorable at all. I’m keeping the four stars, because that’s how I felt when I finished it. But definitely not a strong 4 if I can’t really remember it… Berls is sharing Just a Few books she read so long ago she can hardly remember them. Have you read them? Share on XGood girls don't steal.Good girls don't visit sex shops.Good girls don't have one-night stands.
For Katie Conners, being a good girl just isn't worth it anymore. It used to mean getting the life she always wanted. But that was before she got dumped and her ex got engaged to his rebound. So, after a bad day and one too many mojitos, Katie starts making a list of things a girl like her would never do, not in a million years . . .
As a tattoo artist with a monster motorcycle, Chase Trepasso isn't the kind of guy you bring home to mom and dad.
And when he finds Katie's list in a bar, he's more than happy to help her check off a few items. Especially the ones on the naughtier side . . .
Katie's more than tempted by Chase's offer, as long as they keep things uncomplicated. But as they spend more time together, she may just wind up breaking the most important rule of all: Good girls don't fall in love with bad boys.
I really loved the Night Huntress series. I just loved Cat & Bones so much. I wish the spinoffs were as good as the main series. I really loved the early Eternal Mates series too. I’ve fallen behind on them and I just can’t seem to get myself back into the groove to pick it up any more. I’m not at all familiar with that last book. Great reviews for all of them.
Thanks! Yeah Cat and Bones are great, which is why I don’t get why I’m taking so long to read them… *sigh* I’m in the same boat with the Eternal Mates. I feel like I need to get back to them though!
I listened to the entire Night Huntress series and spinoffs. I loved them for a while, but then everything seemed to go downhill. Not so much in the primary series, but definitely in Vlad’s series. I just went back and looked at my review for this one… apparently this is one I didn’t like so much. haha. Oh well.
I don’t know what it is about this series, because I like the characters and stories, but I’m taking YEARS to read it. Maybe I should switch to audio…
Lately I haven’t felt like writing long reviews so I’ve been doing a lot of reviews as lists (what did I like/dislike). It has been so much easier that way and I go off my notes. But I do have some books I didn’t write any notes and I can’t remember what the book was about lol. I loved Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince series and I need to catch up on her books. Hopefully this year I’ll get to Night Huntress.
Review writing can really become a chore at times, and I get lazy about it (clearly). But I know I enjoyed these books and I’m glad to finally be reading more in the night Huntress series.
Destined for an Early Grave does look pretty fun! 🙂
Hope you’re having a great day Berls!!
Thanks Greg! It’s a fun series, I’m finally back to reading it.
BAHAHAHA, this meme is great! There are so many books that I’ve EASILY forgotten after a few days. 🙁 SO GLAD YOU’RE READING NIGHT HUNTRESS! It’s actually the only adult series I’ve ever finished and loved. Destined for an Early Grave was my favorite, if I remember correctly. <333
Hahaha right?! I’m finally back to Night Huntress, reading This Side of the Grave right now and really enjoying it.
