4 Star #Review ~ Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

This book is from last month TBR List October. I was reading this book for Grace. I think she would have enjoyed it, as I thought it was pretty good and am looking forward to reading the next book.

I heard so many awesome things about this book and I really enjoyed it but I didn’t super love it. I thought a lot, at least in the middle, was very confusing and the lack of explanation was sort of making me even more confused. Good News is that you will eventually find out but you have to wait until almost the end. While I think I loved almost all the characters a lot of the connections between them, I wasn’t really feeling. For example, the entire relationship with Kal and Aurora was very flat. I wasn’t really understanding it or his connection to someone that his breed has. I did really like him but I kind of felt all the characters needed a little more.

I think my favorite was Fin, he cracked me up and I laughed often at his comments and jokes. I think he was the best written of all the characters. I will be honest, I didn’t like Cat at all. Not even a little, I thought she has the least amount of build which is upsetting since everything that happens. (I wont tell you, but I was SHOCKED)

The Story was interesting and a bit confusing at times. Once I really got into the book, I had a hard time putting it down, it got more and more interesting as I read. The end of this book, totally threw me, like I actually cried, I was very sad. I wasn’t expecting what happened and the “bad guy” was creepy as hell. Like really super creepy. Descriptions on that was not lacking. It had some gory explanations and details that gave me the willies.

Overall I really enjoyed this book, even the confusion and lack of character build, I found myself really liking most of the characters and I look forward to reading the rest of their story. I highly recommend, I think teens, YA and Adults would really enjoy this story.

    • Yes! I was like I don’t know but I was SHOCKED by what happened. I hope they find a way to fix it but I don’t know I was kind of sad. Lol

    • You should the story is so interesting and now that it’s over I’m really looking forward to the next one now that I am less confused 🙂
