Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itβs a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.
On the Blog, Books & Real Life:
HOLD ON…August is almost over?!?!?
I can almost touch Pumpkin Everything season…just a few more weeks and I will be in my happy season. Fall brings out the best in me and hopefully the more productive. I have one week left before the kids go back to school and normal (well our normal) returns to this house. I can’t wait to give it a good cleaning and get the ick of summer laziness out of it. Normal routines and Fridays alone, I have been craving this all summer. I will miss the kids but they also need to get back to a normal routine, just not looking forward to homework.
I have been working on some blogging stuff to finish off the year. I am hoping to get moving on it in the next week or two. Hoping the slump stays gone and I can finally get back to normal posting. Just going to have to wait until after school starts.
Still playing Stardew Valley but it isn’t taking over my life anymore, I have been playing at night after I get some work done as an unwinding. I forgot how much fun and relaxing it is to play games once in a while. Helps me think also.
September I am planning to spend a lot of time reading books on my shelf since I grabbed so many good ones at BEA and still need to get to the ones I really wanted to read. So I am going to do a September Shelfie (I made that up) and give my shelf some extra love.
In October I plan to do Monster and a Book again. I have a few people that wanted to participate but if anyone else is interested just send me an email and I can give you all the details and send you the list of Monsters I have left. Last year that guest posts did so good and I loved everyones response so I would love to make it a little bigger this year.

Fall is my favorite time of year too, Michelle, but since it will now mean my kid(s) leaving for college I might have to rethink. But nope…pumpkin seals the deal! π Good for you showing your shelves some extra love in September. I can’t wait to read all about all you read.
Do you still need participants on Monster and a Book?
Have a great week!
Michelle
You sound like you’re very motivated on the blogging front at the moment. I need to catch some of that as I’m thinking of posting every day in Sept. Thankfully I still have a couple of sleeps before that happens!
Those pumpkin lattes are calling my name! I am ready for this humid weather to be over with, and let the crispness of fall begin. Getting the kids ready for school is always a hectic time, I hope everything goes smoothly and that you have a great week.
I love all the pumpkin flavored stuff this time of year. It’s the only way I know it’s fall since Cali doesn’t have a normal fall season. Ha!
I also love fall and I am ready for the weather to cool down a bit, because after this week I have enough of the warm weather again.
Glad to hear you’re still enjoying Stardew Valley. I’ve been playing a level Kingdom Rush most evenings lately. I don’t make time to play more, but it’s fun to have a bit of time to play games.
I need to get started on writing my book and a monster guest post for you soon as I like to get it done in advance. I hope it will be a success again this year.
I hope you’ll have a great week!
Yeah unbelievable that August is almost over. I knew this summer was going to fly and tried to enjoy it and it STILL flew by. Although I will say I am looking forward to falling leaves, pumpkin stuff and all the autumny goodness.
And I agree about games- they’re so relaxing and a great way to unwind. I just wish I had time for some of the more time intensive games I’d love to play. sigh!
Monster and a Book sounds fun, I love all the October-y scary stuff.
LOL, come here pumpkins are everywhere. I love Fall, but will be 50 in October and I am trying to backpedal a little!
Oh good you are reading Carver you can tell me if it’s any good lol. π
I like fall but I don’t want winter to come around!!! π
Happy reading,
Stormi ox
π I am going to read it next since I think it needs to be read soon.
I love the fall. I also love winter π
You are so correct about fall being the time to actually stuff done!! I have been waaaay too lazy this summer. I just can’t focus and I need Jake’s school to help me with a routine. Bring on Pumpkin Everything season!!!! YAY!!!!
It’s just to hot to be productive. The nice weather and the windows open with that fall breeze gets me so motivated. π
We started school here a few weeks ago and it’s been really nice getting back into a routine! We all do so much better on routine plus it was nice to be able to do something for more than a minute and a half without getting interrupted! Hopefully all will go well with the beginning of school for you as well. Yay for being done with the slump! I hope it stays away for good (or at least a long time!) Have a great week!
I never realized how important that routine really is. I feel so anxious and overwhelmed. I think it will be a good change and I hope to keep it up next summer to see if it makes it less stressful!
I am glad it’s gone too. That was the worst EVERY! π
While I understand liking the return to routine, I will ALWAYS prefer summer. I like the heat, the activities and the time off work π I’m having a hard time believing that August is almost over… I was so blissfully unaware that I thought my TBR List review was due next weekend. Oops. I’m rushing to finish the book before Thursday so I don’t mess up my 2016hw, and I’ll do a review on Friday… Hopefully. Have a great week π
You know me and heat lol. I just need a routine, I can already tell the lack of a solid one is effecting Ryan big time and I just enjoy the not having to travel every weekend. I love the shore but it’s just overwhelming after a while. I can’t get anything done there.
I picked a bunch of crappy books for my 2016HW. I think I DNF’d more than I read. I am hoping the last few are good one. You have until Friday to get the review up or not at all. Totally up to you π
Anna’s been back for 2 weeks and the boys start tomorrow. I’ll be happy to be back to a semi-regular routine which will be even better once Anna gets her license and I’m not driving her to and from school. *thud*
While Fall isn’t my favorite season, I’m hoping it shows up quickly with cooler temps. Because these temps and humidity are bullshit. Plain and simple. Grrr Argh!
Monster and a book, huh? Can I pick Monster Porn? hehehe
I hope you have a fantastic week, Michelle! xoxo
Tell that girl to get moving! lol That’s a lot of driving!
I totally agree however I love fall…but the weather this summer SUCKS! I can’t wait to be done with it.
For you I might bend the rules for a little monster porn, just have to put a label stating that. π I can send you the email with the details and monsters unless you have one in mind! π
