My top thoughts:

After a year away from this series, I was excited to dive back in but also worried that I’d be lost. Not only was I NOT lost, but I was also blown away. For me this is the best book in the series so far!

What I liked/didn’t like:

Mine to Crave kicks off with a forward that pretty much transported me back to the last book. Sure, I didn’t remember every single detail, but I remembered enough to pick up without missing a beat. I think it helps that the characters of this book are MOSTLY being fleshed out for the first time. Jasmine was a brand-new character and OMG! I loved her! So strong and so fierce, yet also so gentle and kind. And then Drake! We knew him from the earlier books, but we didn’t KNOW him. He and Jasmine are really very similar – strong, loyal, gentle, kind, and most importantly, they do not see themselves clearly at all. They each think they are too damaged and have too much baggage for the other. You kind of want to shake them at times. Thankfully they are drawn to each other like moths to a flame and the result is FIRE! Seriously, hot scenes y’all.

And then there’s the plot. Geez! I was on my toes from chapter 1. So many twists and turns and unexpected connections. I buddy read this with Brandee and we both were making guesses and trying to anticipate, while also just being super anxious. I really don’t think I predicted anything correctly lol! And yet, if I’d chosen the RIGHT clues, I could have.

We also met some great new characters and I’m so incredibly excited that the next book is Saxton’s book. I’m desperately hoping we also get a Victor book – I’ve been curious about him since his very first scene. So glad Brandee suggested we resume our buddy reads on this series! I will definitely be finishing this series this year.
