Each month you will make a post with three books from your TBR List (these books can be already on your kindle or shelf or books you might want to purchase) and add your link on the linky that will be provided on my post. Your followers and the people on the linky will help you choose which book you will read next. The following Saturday you will announce the book that won. Then read the book and on the last Saturday of the month post a review. Be sure to link up your reviews at the bottom of THIS POST.

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Single mom Rachel Gibson seriously needs a break. Between an absent ex-husband, rowdy twin boys, and running her own work-from-home business, her candle isn't just burning at both ends, it's a full-blown puddle of wax. She's the go-to girl for other entrepreneurs, handling all the tasks they dread. Social media posts? She's got it. Website updates? She's on it. Light bookkeeping? She loves it.
Thank goodness Rachel’s about to get a reprieve, as her former in-laws plan to whisk her boys away for a summer of fun at the family lake house. But when her ex backs out at the last minute, she finds herself in a pickle. Even though she's drowning in to-dos, she's horrible at saying no—especially when it comes to providing some stability for her kids.
Once Rachel arrives at the lake house, she struggles to keep up with work and balance the demands of family, all the while fending off pesky new feelings for her ex-brother-in-law. Which makes her wonder...is falling for her ex-husband's brother just one more messy complication added to the dumpster fire of her life? Or is anything possible when she's out of office…?

My top thoughts:

I am so glad I decided to pick up this series! While I enjoy the books with the young new love, it’s nice to get into a book that feels more familiar to my life. This was so relatable and fun!

What I liked/didn’t like:

I loved Rachel. I GOT Rachel. She’s a single mom of Twins (that part I can only imagine) who is trying to do it all. By herself –> that’s the part I really got. There’s this scene where it’s time to cleanup from the twins birthday party and people are offering to help her clean up and she’s resistant. Because if she does it, it will be done right. Otherwise, it might be done wrong. And I am SO guilty of that. But she grows so much over the course of this book and I really enjoyed watching Travis help bring that growth out of her.

The relationships — the friendships, the ex, his family, the mom-in-law, the twins — were what made this book. The interactions were so fun and I laughed out loud quite a bit. The mom-in-law with her fake cat was particularly hilarious. You have to read it to understand but OMG.

Just a really sweet, fun, funny story and I’m really looking forward to reading the next book.

Narrator thoughts:

The narration by Petrea Burchard was really good – she delivered solid, distinct character voices. I listened at my normal 2x speed and it was a really enjoyable listen.
4 stars Pretty Great
