Off the Blog:

So this was a crazy week! Our house got broken into, my daughter sprained her ankle and I sold my first premade!

We are in a two family house, so sadly the person downstairs got broken into, our house was never touched. The person probably saw us all leave and broke into a small window. The window is for a room under the stairs in the hallway that has a lot of my storage stuff (christmas, halloween, coats)Β  the door goes into the hallway. You can go upstairs to my house or right into the house downstairs. I don’t think she had her door locked because the guy walked right in. Thankfully my dad was coming over and saw a man carrying stuff out of the house. He tried to get the guys attention but he went back in. At that point he probably ran into the house and out the back door. So my dad stopped him from taking anything. My dad and apparently a few other neighbors called the cops. He was caught with the help of a few neighbors that could ID him. We are a little nervous now anytime someone hears a noise but otherwise we are all safe.

On Thursday, my daughter slipped down 3 steps in the house. She twisted her ankle and it hurt but she said she was fine. Friday morning she was still in pain, so off to the ER for an X-ray. They confused me, the doctor said it looked fine and no breaks, then asked if I wanted crutches or for it to be wrapped….Why would I need that if it was fine. Well apparently it’s a sprain, at least that is what is written on the paperwork I got. So we are going with a Strain/Sprain type of thing. She just has to take it easy for a couple days to let it heal.

I officially sold my first premade cover. I am so excited about it. I will share the cover once it goes live. The next day I sold another. Once they all go through a cover reveal I will share them with all of you! πŸ™‚

Starting November 1st I will be watching Christmas Movies….just so you know! πŸ˜‰

Blogging News and Updates:

It’s not a slump but I think with everything going on I had to sacrifice something and blogging was it. I am trying very hard to get back into it better but it’s going to be slow for a few weeks until I can organized, EVERYTHING better. These are the times I am glad Berls joined me in this blogging adventure because the blog would be so quiet if it wasn’t for her.

This week starts the Can you read a series in a Month Challenge?Β You still have time to join.

COYER Sign up starts on November 18th. (reminds me I need to make a logo) πŸ˜‰

  1. That’s creepy about the break in! I was spooked for a long time when someone tried to break into the house across the street – I can’t imagine if it was actually in my house. Glad nothing was taken and it worked out okay and really glad the guy was caught! Sorry to hear about your daughter’s sprain. I went through a spell of spraining my ankle when I was probably about her age into my teen years and it’s so annoying. I got pretty good about diagnosing it though and after the first couple of times I gave up on going to the doctor. It hurts so bad when you first sprain it it’s hard to believe it’s just a sprain though! Congrats on the premade! Have a great week!

  2. Oh it’s scary, Michelle. Glad to hear that everyone is ok. Someone was trying to break into our house last year and it scared me to death. I know the feeling. I’m still super alert whenever I hear some noises especially when my dogs start to bark. But it’s been safe for a while now here. We Andre the whole neighborhood hired additional security team for the day. I’ve felt safer since then.
I hope you have a wonderful week. 😁❀️

  3. Goodness! Sounds like you had a crazy week. I’m glad that everything was relatively okay after the break-in, but don’t blame you for being spooked. We had a break-in a few years back and it took a while to feel settled. Also hope your daughter’s ankle heals quickly – I sprained me knee last year and it was a pain trying to sit still for so long πŸ™‚ Hope you have a great week, Michelle and happy reading! πŸ™‚

  4. That sounds like a scary event! We never had anyone break into our house growing up, but there was a guy hiding by my aunt’s car. She took her stuff out, then came in to say goodbyes, and while she was inside he got into her car and stole her purse. He was dumb, though, because he didn’t run off and hide right after taking it. He stayed hiding by the wheel of the car and she found him and chased him through pastures. I’m glad your dad and neighbors were very aware. So glad it wasn’t worse! I hope Julia is feeling better. Congrats on selling your first two covers!!

  6. I heard about your break-in on Facebook, and your daughter’s sprained/strained ankle as well. What an eventful week! I’m sorry your house was violated; I’m sure it will take time before you feel truly safe there again. And I hope Julia’s ankle heals quickly.

Congratulations on selling your first premade cover! How exciting!

  8. Boo to scary break ins and sprains but YAY to selling covers! They are so pretty!

After a month of only Sunday posts I’m going to have a shitload this month. lol Sometimes I wonder if I should take on a co-blogger. You and Berls seem to be doing it pretty good. Hmmm…

I’m intrigued by Hunting Prince Dracula. I may need to add that to my shelves.

I hope you have an uneventful yet productive week, Michelle. πŸ™‚ XOXO

  9. It sounds like the thief picked the wrong time. So lucky for you. And a wonderful neighborhood as they worked together to catch him. My house was broken into several years ago. They couldn’t get past my dog so they didn’t get anything. Had to fix the door they kicked in and add more deadbolts. It still creeps me out. I hope your daughter heals quickly and congrats on your cover sale!

  10. I’m glad nothing was taken! But that sounds like a really nasty encounter.
Sprains suck, but they heal well. Just make sure your daughter starts doing restorative exercise in about a week or two. I’ve had some serious sprains, the exercise is what fixes it. Otherwise the other leg will start compensating and that’s not good.
    Congrats about the cover!

  11. That’s so scary about the break-in πŸ™ I’m glad everyone is okay and that nothing was taken. I’d be jumpy too after that (and I’m already super paranoid, if I’m being honest, it’s a bit of an issue lol)

Congrats on selling a couple of covers, that’s great!

  12. That sounds scary that your house got broken into, even if they didn’t take anything. That’s great timing your dad was there and spotted him and they could ID the guy with the help of your neighbors.

Sorry to hear your daughter sprained her ankle. i hope she feels better soon.

And congrats on selling your first premade covers! I like seeing your cover designs in the group :).

Have a great week and I hope you have more time for blogging and reading soon!

    • I am glad everything worked out. It’s just so weird that they picked this house but I think he must have been watching us all leave.

She is feeling better and can walk on it a little bit more.

Thank you! I am excited the response I got from the game. I still am not hitting my target when it comes to people in the group. I need more. It’s hard to build the group without stalking people and I wont do that.

  13. I’m sorry your house was broken into, Michelle, even if nothing was taken! It’s always a bit scary to know someone you didn’t invite inside took it upon themselves to enter anyway.
I hope Julia will feel better quickly! Twisted ankles hurt. A lot!
Congrats on selling two premade covers this week! Way to go πŸ™‚ The beginning of a new career is in the works, I’m sure of it.
    Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading my friend. I miss you lots! When do you think we’ll be able to meet again? {{{BIG HUGS}}}

    • It is, we keep looking out the window every time we hear a noise. Last night a raccoon knocked over the garbage can and it scared the heck out of me. I think it will be some time before I can finally feel safe again.
      Julia is doing better.
Thank you! I hope we will meet again, I just don’t know when that will be but I hope it’s soon.
