Blogging, Bookish and Real Life  News:

So last week I said the COYER site got hacked. Well we completely lost it…it was so hacked that we couldn’t even get it back so we started another site but this time on blogger. The new site is called Because Challenges make reading more fun (a mix of our blog and berls old blog’s name) We plan to put all our challenges on that site, if we can figure out how to work blogger again. So if you signed up for COYER you will need to head on over to the site and link up again…we also lost the linky. You can access the sign up by using COYERChallenge.com, BecauseChallenges.com or COYERChallenge.blogspot.com, a little over kill but we wanted to be thorough and make sure you can totally find it. Some of the sign up posts will be a little late but I will announce it here when they do go live.

Turkey day was nice and quiet, we spend it with my mom’s family and I do love spending the holidays with them. I watched the parade, made yummy artichokes, eat lots of food and drank lots of wine. It was a very productive day! 🙂

The house is done! We had to relocate the nutcrackers and put a few things in different spots but it looks so festive! I love it!!!!

It’s the KITTENS FIRST CHRISTMAS!!! So far Calliope is the only one to climb into the tree, so Saturday we wired it to the window frame, at least if they knock a few ornaments off they wont knock over the entire tree. I didn’t put my Tinkerbell on top or any fragile ornaments so everything is pretty kitten safe. I also put Orange Peels in the tree because apparently cats don’t like the smell of citrus. These two don’t really follow the cat rules of the world so it might not work, otherwise they just seem super confused. Calliope is loving the idea of sleeping under the tree (totally fine with that because she looks so freakin cute and comfy) and Auggie prefers the little house we got him from Target. (You can see it in the first picture.) I only need a few more little things for the kids but I am officially finished with all Santa gifts (except the pets, but I do that last). Now it’s just a few gifts for the family which I will do in the next week or so, such a relief and I never left the house.

Going to spend most of today blogging, organizing and getting some stuff done. Next Sunday we are going to the Christmas Spectacular in NY so I wont be around during the day. I am going to try and have a Sunday post but I might have to skip it. I hate being so non-present on the blog but it is what it is. I will be back full time soon enough, just taking a little longer than I hoped to get there. 🙂

Last Week on the Blog:

What you might see this week:

  • Waiting On Wednesday ~ The Submarine
  • November Book Report
  • My TBR List December ~ Christmas Edition

(Read, Currently Reading & Next)

I am LOVING Torrid Tea Party, the book is a monster but I am hoping to get a few more chapters done or at least half way through the book before the weekend is over. Not sure what I plan to read next might try and do a few shorter books to finish up my goodreads goal.

  1. Sheesh. That sucks about your site getting hacked. Do you think blogger is safer?

Your cats are so cute!I have an orange tabby like them as well, I think that’s what they are called, named Molly. I’m very curious to see if the orange peels actually work.

P.S. I answered your questions on the Pick-a-Theme challenge over at the post. If you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask!

    • I’m not sure if it is safe but it works for now. If it happens again we will just put them here.

Thank you! They are good babies. So far so good, they haven’t climbed in but it’s still early 🙂

Excellent! I will head over to see them, I’m looking forward to the challenge.

  2. OMG your site got hacked???? This is my nightmare! I am so sorry to read this! Now good thinking on wiring your tree. Happy week 😉

    • Is was frustrating but it was easier to let it go than try and fix it. The new site is up so we are hoping it doesn’t happen again. I used to wire the tree with out other cat but she never touched it but these two I don’t trust since they are still kittens.

  3. Sorry, the site got ruined. That is crappy. Glad you had a great holiday with family. I love spending time with mine so I know how great it can be. I love the cats and the tree. We still need to put ours up. I keep saying this to my hubby!

    • It happens and it sucks but nothing we can do about it but send them nasty thoughts. 🙂
It’s my favorite time of year to spend with them we have so much fun together.
I bug my husband all week and write it on all the calendars. I am a bit OCD when it comes to putting up the tree and decorations.

  4. Wow, sorry your site got destroyed. That’s frustrating. I’m glad you had a good Thanksgiving and got your Christmas decorations up. I meant to do that today, but it didn’t happen. Enjoy your new books. Have a great week!

    • Thank you Anne! So far we are good. I still haven’t signed up for it. I am hoping to do a post this week. I always like to have a sign up for COYER. I should be sharing the readathons in the group this week so everyone can start planning.

It was a book box so I am sure a few people got the book 🙂

  5. Love your pics! Looks so festive! And glad yhou had a nice Thanksgiving- good food plus good wine sounds pretty good to me. 🙂

sorry to hear about the COYER site though! I absolutely HATE hackers, they’re such assholes and it just blows my mind that people do stuff like that.

Our cats love to sleep under the tree too. Man, you’re ahead of us though- no tree here yet, although the outside stuff is out.

Anatomy of a Bookworm- that is so awesome, and so true lol.

    • It was nice and relaxing, I do wish the weekend was a little longer.
It happens, just sucks it happened and we couldn’t get it back. I really hoped we would be able to.

I love that she sleeps under the tree and she looks so comfy. Our tree isn’t real and our Scout elf needs to come back when the tree is up so we had to put it up early. I have a feeling this might be his last year, I am so sad about it but happy to not have to deal with that stress. 🙂

  6. Your house looks great! We’re going to decorate some today. It’s our first year without kitties, so I guess I don’t need to cat-proof this year. 🙁

I’m sorry about the COYER site getting hacked. How infuriating and upsetting for you and Berls! You seem to have worked quickly to find a solution and get the new site up and running—well done.

Have a lovely week and enjoy your new books (and your kittens, as always)!

  7. Stupid hackers! Way to go getting a new site up and going in the middle of your holiday preparations. Your Thanksgiving sounded fun. Cute pics of the kitties. Glad you’re enjoying your series challenge book.

    Have a good week, Michelle!

  8. Bummer about the site hack! What a pain in the rear.
I had to switch to all ‘shatter proof’ ornaments because my dogs are just clumsy. Thankfully they don’t climb the tree, but they have no sense of spatial awareness and just bump into the tree all the time! Your decorations look great and the pictures of the cats are awesome!

  9. Glad to hear you got the Coyer site up and running again, but I am sad to hear it got hacked in the first place. I juts put my Sunday Post live with my sign-up, now I only have to put it in the linky. Glad to hear you had a fun thanksgiving.

Your Christmas decorations look great and I love those pictures of your cats. I hope they’ll enjoy their first Christmas. And that cat house looks adorable too. I hope you’ll have a great week!

    • We are kind of bummed to lose it but at least we had another option or we could have put it here if we really needed too. As of right now it is up and running so that is good. I wanted to make a sign up post also for COYER but I haven’t had a chance. I need to get some readathons for the challenge organized first.

Thank you! I love the house all decorated and they are very curious but so far they just knocked a few things off the tree. We never had anything really fragile since we had the kids and I never updated anything so all our ornaments are soft and squishy so even if the tree falls nothing will break.
