Fit Readers is a group/challenge run by Felicia @ Geeky Bloggers Book Blog and Jen @ That’s What I’m Talking About, designed to support and encourage each other on our health and fitness goals. In years past I’ve participated but just done quick updates on my Sunday Post. This year, I want my goals to be a top priority, so I’m going to share my updates in a separate, more detailed weekly post. The day it appears will probably fluctuate, though, so just keep your eyes out for it 🙂
May 22 – 29 Update
Oops! The end of my week got crazy and I forgot to update yesterday!
Emotional Health Goal
Write down 3 things I’m grateful for daily.Â
I missed doing this Thursday morning because I had an interview that I was super focused on. But otherwise I’ve been doing well at this and I think it really does continue to help keep me more positive than not.
Fitness Goal
3 times a week, do a real workout.Â
I’m moving along well with my C25K, doing it 3 times a week, even in the heat and despite my back hurting. I do strategize and try to avoid running uphill… but can you blame me? I still sometimes get stuck running up this awful hill in our parking lot. My pace is still shit and I might be able to walk faster than I run lol. But it feels good and I know it’s good for me, so yeah.
Eating Goal
Eat 1 vegetable or fruit and get 1 high protein meal daily.
This is incredibly up and down for me. I literally just ate 3 cookies for mid-morning snack :/ However, I’ve had some really good days too. I talked to my nutritionist Monday and she helped me realize that if I have the time/energy/etc to make sure Dante is eating well, I have the time to do the same for myself. Because he doesn’t just need to be healthy, he needs a healthy mom. So I’m trying. And I can honestly say that I am at least getting in 1 fruit/veggie a day plus 1 high protein meal. Maybe next month I’ll focus on eliminating the junk…
Sounds like a pretty good week overall – and an interview?! I’m running over the check your Sunday post for more info!
