Happy Day After Halloween~ WIR & TSP

Posted November 1, 2015 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 32 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween and is stuffed full of yummy candy, up next is Turkey and then Candy Canes.

We had a great day Trick or Treating. The kids had a lot of fun and I will have candy until June.

It’s almost my favorite time of year. Well really from October until Jan 1st is my favorite time of year but I am 100% a Christmas girl and I am already in Christmas mode. Hallmark Channel already started the countdown to Christmas with all my favorite movies. I plan to review some in December, I love those movies, they make me all warm and fuzzy.

This was a very slow reading week for me, the book I was currently reading just wasn’t doing it for me so sadly I had to put it aside. The book was a tour book and my last one this year, from now until Jan 1st I plan to just read whatever and just get some of those books that have been sitting on my Kindle read. Next year I might once again avoid tour books unless they are a sequel to a book I already read.

If you are a COYER fan, it starts very soon…well sign ups start very soon. Here is a peek at the new logo for COYER Winter.

ChallengeSneakPeekI am so excited that we are going back to basics, so whether you are veteran to COYER or a newbie, we are going back to what COYER was from the very beginning…well sort of, we did a few things from past COYER to this one. I can’t wait for you all to see the Sign Up, I think it will be a lot of fun this time around.

The blog was super busy this week and the next two months will also be very busy. I am surprisingly somewhat ahead so I can FINALLY get back to visiting again. Things around here have settled down quite nicely, Monday is Julia’s 8th Birthday, I can’t believe my baby girl is going to be 8!!! Seriously time needs to slow down. However whether she is 8 or 18 she will always be my baby girl. I have a feeling the rest of this year all these Sunday Posts are going to be rather boring but sometimes that is not a bad thing. πŸ™‚

  1. Love the pics. I can’t wait for the next COYER and love the banner. I am excited for Christmas but need to get through Thanksgiving, Anniversary and husband’s birthday first – almost everything we celebrate is crammed in the last three months of the year. One reason I start Christmas shopping so early.

  2. Happy Birthday Julia! I love the kids costumes and we’ll also have candy for a couple of months lol. We didn’t get a lot of trick-o-treaters this year. So now I’m trying to stay out of the candy bowl lol. I can’t wait for COYER! I have a lot of ebooks and ARCs that I want to read so I can’t wait for the challenge. Have a great week!!

    • Thank you!
You really should join COYER it is so much fun and has helped so many people get to those books they have been wanting to read. This time is the best time to join since it’s very laid back.
I can’t help thinking of christmas it’s my favorite πŸ™‚

  3. Your kids their customes look awesome! It’s so fun your son is a shark and your duaghter her custome looks really cool too, I liked that picture on fb you shared of her make-up, it looked so professional! I ejoyed seeing all my US friends share pictures of costumes online as here Halloween isn’t as popular yet, although it’s getting more popular each year.

It’s always sad when a book doens’t work for you, sometimes even more so when it’s a tour or review book. I started accepting more review books and less tour books as at least review books don’t have a deadline. Often when I reading a book for a deadline I feel more rushed and chances are higher I won’t enjoy a book I might have enjoyed if it wasn’t for a deadline.

And I am so excited for the next Coyer! I can’t wait to hear more about it so I can make my sign-up post! I am sure it’s going to be a lot of fun, like always.

I really enjoyed your monster posts. I didn’t have as much time to visit blogs this week, so I catched up on the posts yesterday when I had some more time. Have a great week!

    • Thank you! She was very wiggly and hard to get the make up to stay on but she loved having make up on. Which worries my husband lol

I hate when it happens, it drives me crazy how many I DNF this year and I really need to pick better next year. I want reading to be fun not a chore.

I am excited too it will be so nice to get back to basics.

I am glad everyone enjoyed reading them, I think you all did a great job with the posts, I am so happy with how it came out.

  4. OMG I’m visiting blogs!! Lol πŸ™‚ Love the kids Halloween costumes. Our logo is great – I’ll try to remember to share and look over sign up post sometime this week. Sorry I’ve been such a flake with that. I’m getting back slowly but surely! Talk soon!!!

    • HOLY CRAP!!!! I haven’t seen you in my comments in like forever. πŸ˜‰
Thank you! I thought I would share since I am running out of stuff to talk about lol.
I know how busy you are, I hope you won’t have a lot to fix. I am excited it starts soon. Don’t worry it will come with time, you just need to get settled and I know how hard it has been for you. I will call you soon!!!

  5. Happy birthday to Julia and Merry beginning of Christmas season to you! I’m looking forward to your Hallmark movie reviews! I enjoy them but don’t know which ones to watch. The ones based on books are of course my favorite! I love your kids’ Halloween costumes! Have a great week!

  6. Great pics, looks like they’re having fun! Halloween here was rainy but a few kids braved it. Now of course today is sunny!

I get in Christmas mode early too, some people think I’m nuts but I like all of it- old movies, the lights, the whole deal. And I like Thanksgiving so much more now too- as a kid I thought it was boring, now I appreciate it more. Food you know ha ha!

    Have an awesome week!

    • They had a blast and we got done rather early but we where all so tired. lol

I just love all the warm and fuzzies of the holiday. The christmas movies, lights and everything, I am totally with you.
I think we tend to forget how awesome it is with all the money we have to spend but I try not to let that dampen my spirits because I can only give what I can and as long as the kids are happy it totally makes my christmas!

  7. Happy Birthday to your baby girl! They grow up too fast πŸ™‚
I’m with you on those Hallmark movies! I love a good warm and fuzzy feeling movie. Last year I wound up reading a few books that reminded me of Hallmark movies. Something about this time of year that brings them out. Can’t believe this year is almost over. I need to get on my Christmas shopping!
    Have a great week Michelle!

  8. What a lovely skeleton and an unexpected shark, great costumes ! And those pumpkins are great. Halloween will take place next week here, I must remember to buy candy for the kids that come visiting, we never have any home. Enjoy the next COYER and the Christmas celebrations – I’m impatient to decorate the house again !

  9. I’m really looking forward to a new COYER challenge, Michelle πŸ™‚ And your logo is great, as always! I’m also kind of happy we’re going back to basics, as I have quite a few e-books I need to get to.
I’m not exactly in a Christmas mood yet, but I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year, as we’re going to Norway to celebrate with my mom, my sister and the rest of my family up north πŸ˜€
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.
