WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

So wanna hear a funny story that will question why I was allowed to have children? LOL So…

On Friday my son Ryan had a half day, the dog was sick (I wont go into details but he has a virus that is pretty bad but he is doing ok will know more on Monday) and I had to take him to the vet after we picked up my daughter Julia from school (she had a full day). My son asked if we can come with me, ok let me explain first, my daughters school is the next block over, it’s a 2 minute walk,  we can see the school from our house so it’s very close. My son and I walked over to the school at 3:05 to get my daughter, he ran off to watch the big kids play football in the playground and I went to wait for my daughter. My daughter came out and we left. While walking home I checked the time on my phone to see what time it was since the vet appointment was at 3:45 when I heard a BONG!!! my daughter walked into a sign, I grabbed her hand but she was so embarrassed she ran ahead, I couldn’t stop laughing (she was fine) when we got home I walked up the stair into the house and noticed the TV in the living room was off and my son was playing his video game when I left (see where this is about to go?) as I start to walk toward the living room I stop, and scream OMG! I LEFT RYAN AT THE SCHOOL!!!! I ran out the door and down the stairs, across the street and back to the school where he was standing waiting for me. He was starting to walk home but was too scared to walk across the street so he waited for me. I felt so bad and figured this is not going to win me mother of the year. When we got back home all my husband can say is “How did you forget your son?” In my defense he doesn’t always come with me so when I got my daughter he was on the other side of the play ground I was so worried about the dog, I forgot, I am seriously losing my mind 🙂

On the blog, nothing new, trying to come up with a few new things (did you see my App Reviews Feature? Super excited about it) and getting myself a lot more organized. Happy to be ahead and reading more now but I also think it makes me blogging lazy since I spend more time off the blog and I am not liking that. I want to stay ahead but I also want to do more. I don’t think I’ll ever be a famous blogger but I would like to be an active one that has some really cool ideas and maybe have a few people know my name. Lol

    • 🙂 I am happy to report I haven’t left him anywhere since this posted 🙂 Heir of Fire was ok not what I was hoping for and really a lot slower then I would have liked but I will still read the next one 🙂

  1. One time, I was really late to pick up my son at school and I was so worried because he’s no longer there and his teacher told me that somebody picked him up. To my relief, a neighbor asked him to take him home (She’s the mother of my son’s friend) cause he started to cry. I’ve sworn not to let that happen again.

Nice books you got there BTW 🙂

  2. I’ve forgotten to pick up my daughter and my work is 30 minutes away. One time there was traffic because an accident and I knew I wasn’t going to get there on time so I called a friend. Now I put an reminder on my phone to go off 1 hour before her school gets out so I don’t forget to go. So we’ve all done this before! Good thing you live close to the school and he figured out what happened. I hope the rest of your week was better. Vivian Apple’s book looks good so I’m looking forward to your review. Have a great week =)

    • That goodness you had backup, I left late once from work because I wasn’t paying attention to the time and thought it was earlier than it was but my dad was able to get the kids for me.

So far I like vivian apple but haven’t had time to read it much hoping to really get into it tonight and tomorrow.

  3. You must have been so scared, it’s a horrible feeling isn’t it. Glad he waited for you though, that’s very sensible of him. 😀
I lost my daughter in a toy store once and I freaked out, she was only 1 at the time and had squeezed out of the pram straps and ran away to the dolls without me noticing. Thank goodness she didn’t leave the store and I found her quickly. So relieved.
Have a good week Michelle and I hope you don’t forget anyone this week. LOL 😉

    • I felt horrible but I laughed only because he’s 9 so he knows how to get home it was just the point that I left him there.
Lol I am going to keep them very close 🙂

  4. LOL! This is something that I could totally see myself doing 🙂 I’m glad that everything turned out okay though! I should try to stay off NetGalley for the rest of the year as well. It might help me play catch up a bit! I hope you have a great reading week this week!

    • It’s really hard to stay off, I go on just to look but I don’t request no matter how bad I want it, unless it’s a series book i need I skip….Its really hard Lol

  5. LOL! Too funny! I think we all have our proud parent stories but that’s a particularly good one. My husband got forgotten once when he was little and he seems to have grown up without too many problems. Looking forward to seeing your top ten scary books. I’ve been wanting to read some scary books lately. Have a great week!

  6. First off, I LOVE your new header! Will you be doing one for each holiday? Say yes. lol Second, the mom story, sorry but I had to lol. We’ve all done something similiar at one time or another. But I’ve never heard one as bad as my husband telling me his mom left his youngest brother at a rest stop on one trip and they had to go back and get him. Yeah, oops! So, don’t feel bad any more. 🙂

    • Yes I have one for thanksgiving and Xmas then I’ll introduce a new design in Jan 🙂 OMG that poor kid! I totally don’t feel so bad lol

  7. I can’t say I ever forgot my son, but I sure almost forgot my nephew. He made a habit of running and hiding and I almost forgot he was with us at the grocery store one time. I was in the check out line when I remembered and had to go find him. Of course, he never knew I hadn’t noticed he was gone! Phew:) It can easily happen when routines are changed.
Creed looks really good and I’d love to read The Ghosts of Heaven. Lucky you.

    • My husband lost my son once and I always made fun now I can’t say anything lol the ghost heaven just really looks interesting fingers crossed it is 🙂

  8. Creed looks really good. We all have those moments with our kids. I remember I was doing laundry while my kids played with their pretend kitchen. Somehow right under my nose, my daughter got the real eggs from kitchen and was feeding raw egg to her brother. When I called the doctor’s concerned about him eating raw eggs the stupid nurse said, Where were you when this was happening? I felt so awful, but seriously I was right there.

    • I hate “questioning adults” it’s like one boo boo and they jump on you. Once I was drinking a twisted tea and put it on the table my son was little and climbed up and took a drink we started screaming NO. So it happens to a lot of us 🙂 Just thought it was funny how I totally forgot he was with me he’s 9 so old enough to know where we live but My Poor baby 🙂

  9. I have to admit it’s kinda funny you forgot your son at the school. Luckily the school is close by.

I really liked your app feature! I am looking forward to read more app posts in the future!

I like the cover for The Ghosts of Heaven!

Sometimes it’s so hard to keep up with your blog, especially when live or reading get’s in the way.I’ve been scheduling posts ahead like crazy and every time I have an idea for a discussion post I force myself to sit down and write it while I have the chance. I wish I had mroe time to read though, there have been so little reviews on my blog lately and I feel a bit quilty about that and I feel so behind. I read like 4 books in a month.

  10. UM, yeah, as a mom with only one kid, I still saw that one coming a mile away. It is so NORMAL!!!! I know you felt horrible, though, you probably smushed your son to death, huh? It happens to EVERYONE and to even the best people, I’ve seen it happen myself. Ya know, back in the old days, your son would have been fine on his own and you wouldn’t of had to worry. Oh, to be safe like again… *sigh*

The Ghosts of Heaven… hmmm… Looks intriguing! I think I will hunt that down b/c you KNOW I don’t have enough to read – bwahahahahahaha!!!

Have a great week, mama!!! You still rock!

  11. I don’t think that is a big deal. I had a dream when I was first married that I had a baby and kept it in the Tupperware celery keeper. Now THAT would be bad parenting. We decided not to have kids.

Seriously, your mind was on a lot of other things and it sounds like your son being around at that time of day was unusual. Our brains depend on routine, as well as getting enough rest (which most parents do not)in order to cope with stresses like sick family, sick pets.

Friday, my husband went to get the car while I was in the store and he didn’t recognize me waiting for him. 34 years together. Peeps brains are strange places.

    • Lol yes a tupperware celery keeper is no place for a baby 🙂
It was a really crazy day but it was really funny since I know if anything he would be fine coming home it was just the point of forgetting him.

My husband hasn’t done that yet but I’m sure it’s only a matter of time

  12. Oh god, when you said Ryan ran off I just KNEW you were going to leave him. LOL at least you’re not that far away and he’s not that young. It’s so easy to get distracted when there’s so much going on.

Loved your new App post – just knew it would be great! And I love your Halloween header!! I didn’t even think to change mine…

    • He was so cute about it too. I have appologized a million times to him and we do roll calls now in the house to make sure everyone is here lol

I wasn’t going to change the header because I need everything to be the same and in WP it’s a lot harder to do all of that without having knowledge of full blog HTML so I had to change everything seperate it was annoying lol but i think it looks cute 🙂

I feel bad I have been talking about this feature and never did it but I am glad the 5 nights was the first one it was perfect for the season and is a game that needs more attention its really good. Can’t wait to do more it was fun 🙂
