So much to tell you but I am officially back! :) ~ WIR & SP

So as most know I have been pretty MIA the last two week but I am officially back today and I have so much to tell you. It’s been a slow come back but I have a lot of stuff planned. Stormi and I have a new Meme starting soon. I am waiting for her to get back from being away. Once she is back we will have an intro post so if you are interesting in joining you have time to get the post ready. We are excited about it because the layout is unique and it can be done any way you want. I can’t wait to share the details.

I am super behind on blog posts and have spent most of this weekend doing that and design work. I had a pretty busy weekend but very happy with my progress. Blog Ahead starts this week so that will I am hoping get me through the summer. I now need to find time to read because my review blog and lacking reviews. I did get bookmail the last two weeks so I was super excited about that and I am expecting one more. I had filled out a form for Penguin to get a few HIGHLY ANTICIPATED READ but sadly I don’t think I was picked to receive the ARCs. After all this time it still hurts…LOL 😉 I will have all those gorgeous covers below even the books from BookCon.

Speaking of BookCon….You all get the exclusive on how I thought BookCon was….BORING! Seriously BORING! I am planning to write a post but I am not sure what my $74 paid for since I had to purchase books at the ticketed signing area…Um… what was the point of that? and limiting it to only two autograph signings a day. I was so confused. I brought home 2…yes TWO ARCs that was it for $74. My daughter and I left early because I was just underwhelmed and bored. She had fun walking around and enjoyed the My Little Pony Area but I spent more on books to get signed then I did for the event. Very disappointed and plan to just go to the Expo instead next year, realized the $300 admission to get in for the 3 days was totally worth it. (don’t want to sound spoiled or ungrateful but I’ll explain in the post, I hope, to write this week)

This week was the last week of Softball! YAY! Normal can finally return but she will do a two day program for the month of July. It’s a Softball Camp to teach basics and instruction. She is super excited to do it, I think she could be an excellent ball player if she practices more. It also helps with her attention because I am starting to wonder if she has ADD or ADHD, she bounces around so much and we know she is not paying attention.

Thank you if you stopped by this week and last week, I am going to try to reply to comments this week but I might not get to everyone but I wanted to acknowledge that I did read them. So THANK YOU! Also, thank you, if you are still actually reading this! 🙂

COYER STARTS THIS SATURDAY! You still have plenty of time to join us!

  • Mini Blog Ahead Sign Up Post
  • Bloggiesta Sign Up Post
  • Top Ten Father’s Day Freebie
  • Can You Read a Series 1/2 Way Point Update Post

Books read & currently reading:

I recently realized I find it easier to read Physical Book on the Weekend and Ebooks on the Weekdays. So as much as I am not a fan of reading two books at one, I think this could help me read more since it’s easier to read Ebooks at work and waiting at the school for the kids and the weekend I am home or at the shore and can read physical (even at the pool)

New on the Bookshelf/Kindle:

Ok Brace yourself and remember this is from Two Weeks 🙂 I’m really not sorry about this! lol

So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?

Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!

Happy Reading

  1. At InD’Scribe you come home with a ton of swag and a head full of awesome memories. Just sayin’. hehehehe You knew I was going to plug the con, so don’t act surprised. 😀 I want to go so bad this year, but it’s not going to happen. Next year though, I am so there!

Yay for a more normal schedule! And more reading!

I hope you have a fantastic week, Michelle! XOXO

  2. Wow, Book Con sounds like quite a disappointment this year. So sorry to hear that. Paying $74 to walk away with 2 arcs? Ugh.
Awesome book haul, though! Hope there are some new favorites in there. 🙂

    • I don’t want to sound ungrateful but I was expecting just a few more books or a little more organization. Expo is more professional and this just seemed like a mess.

  3. Welcome back and it’s also my return to the Sunday post. Sorry to hear that BookCon was disappointing and it doesn’t sound right paying for everything. At least other conventions let you bring in books to sign. One of these days I would love to go to BEA and BookCon (just for the experience lol). I can’t wait to see the new meme. Now that I’m back to blogging maybe I’ll participate. I hope you have a great week!

    • You could bring a signed book but it never mentioned that on anything I looked at. I assumed (stupid me) that all autograph areas (ARCs and other books) would be free since you paid to get in and anything at booths will be for sale. That was the perk of going but NOPE, only booth signing were free and those took almost all day to do.

  4. I have a few of those books myself! The Top Ten Tuesday Meme looks interesting, I may have to try that! And I can’t wait to see what you and Stormi have cooked up for us now! Also COYER! Squee! I need to get some serious reading done, I just started Netgalley, and got approved for 6 of the 9 I tried for! I thought I’d be lucky if I got any, or a couple, but 6!

    Have a great week!

    • Top ten theme this week, Yes but I can’t think of what to write so I might have to skip it lol.
Yay for 6 lol perfect time too with COYER. It’s almost here. I’m really looking forward to it!

  5. I am so bummed that BookCon was so lame. I really want to go to another expo so maybe the next time it’s in NY I can get the money to go and stay with you and we can have Expo fun and other fun too! 🙂 You got a lot of books and wow you really had to purchase a lot for the signings that is so lame. You got a lot of great books though I am jealous you got the Dracula book!!!! 🙂 Hope you love all your reads!

    Have a great week!

    • It was lame and Expo is in NY next year. You should come and we can get a room. Lexxie might be going so. It would be fun to get away for a few days then you can come home with me on Saturday and hang and relax.

    • Honestly it wasn’t crowded like, I didn’t find it to have that many people at all. It was just boring and with only two autographs and having to run to booths to get in lines it was hard. Like at Book Expo last year we all together were able to help each other and get autographs and meet authors, bloggers. I just felt disappointed.

  6. Welcome back! I’m sorry you were disappointed by BookCon. But it looks like you got the Laini Taylor trilogy, and I’m assuming since you bought them that you were able to get them signed. Cool!

I love the cover of Curiouser and Curiouser, and look forward to your review. Story Thieves looks like fun, too.

Have a wonderful week, and enjoy all those new books!

  7. I am curious to hear about this new meme you’re planning! I have very few blog posts scheduled at the moment, but that’s okay. I am glad to hear you had a productive weekend!

I still feel a bit disappointed too when I don ‘t get a book I requested on netgalley. Too bad you didn’t get that ARC you wanted.

Oh Bookcon does sound boring. I am sorry to hear it wasn’t more interesting, but that’s good at least Julia had some fun. And especially when you had to pay that much and then only got to go to two signing and had to buy the books. That sounds way too expensive for what you got.

I am glad to hear your daughter is enjoying her softball! That camp you have planned for her sounds neat.

I finally made my sign-up for Coyer in this week’s Sunday post.

I am usually reading two books at once now as I prefer to read on my Kobo or a physical book before bed and on my ipad the rest of the day. So I always have two books going on at once, bu the clear separation really works.

Have a great week and enjoy your new books!

    • It’s a fun post and I am hoping stormi will be able to post it on Thursday but she just gets back and I am not sure she will have time.
I did a lot of stuff this weekend and have all day today to finish up. I am happy with the progress so I am now a week ahead again. 🙂

It’s funny how it still stings a little, lol. I know they are looking for bigger blogs to push the book but I had my fingers crossed. 🙂

The camp should be fun, it’s not long and it’s in the evening but it will be very helpful.

I have been trying it out this week and it seems to be working with the physical book this weekend. I might actually finish it….maybe 🙂

  8. I’m sorry Bookcon was such a bummer, Michelle! I am starting to think I might actually be able to get myself to NYC for BookExpo next year… as it’s at the very end of May, and there won’t really be any more classes. I will cross my fingers and keep you updated 😉
You got some great books, and I hope you’ll enjoy them.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading xoxo

    • I can see why everyone skips that one when they go to BookExp. That would be AWESOME! I plan to go for the three days, I want to see if I can get my husband to take off those says also so he can watch the kids. I just missed the blogger interaction and the fun of running around meeting authors and publishers. BookCon they didn’t seem to want to be bothered with you.

Thanks, I am looking forward to reading them all…hopefully for COYER 🙂

  9. Glad you’re back Michelle! Can’t wait to see what you and Stormi have come up with. 🙂

And Bookcon does sound like a dud. What a bummer! Yeah it sounds like Expo is the way to go, too bad they can’t make Bookcon a bit better.

I like the look of Story Thieves! Some awesome MG cover art as usual! I think they have the best covers these days…

    • We are excited about it and we think a few people might join us.
I don’t want to sound like I expected a ton of books because I know I didn’t BUT I also didn’t want to spend all the money if I was buying stuff. The even should have been free if that was what they planned to do or made the autograph section free.

MG Does have the best covers. I am looking forward to reading the series, the books have great covers.
