Off the Blog:
This was a rough week… Our 15 year old cat Buttons has lost the ability to move her back end. She was fine Tuesday night and when I woke up at 6:00am I noticed something was wrong. We took her to the vet and we now know she has intervertebral disc disease or degenerative disc disease. So there was two options the first we were unable to do but instead we decided to take the conservative method and bring her home and continue treatment here. She will be on some medicine to help the inflammation and hopefully help her walk again. She is also unable to go to the bathroom on her own so we will help her with that also. We are hoping her being home will help her recover and regain her ability to walk and potty. We know that the chance of it not happening is about 50/50 but we wanted to at least try and see if we can help her. If she gets worse we will have to say goodbye. For now we are taking it one day at a time. She already seems a little happier to be home and can move around quite nicely even without the use of her back legs and tail, sometimes she just seems sad and it’s heartbreaking. The only thing she DOES NOT like is after we make her go potty we have to clean her up. She is one grumpy old lady when we do that and have to wrap her in a towel to prevent her from hurting herself and us.
We are really hoping that this will work so if you can say a prayer for her or if you have an extra miracle lying around we could use one of those too.
On Saturday we had 7, 10 year old girls in our house. That was fun! *gulps wine* It was for my daughters birthday, the girls seemed to have fun. They ran around and screamed like girls and my head hurts but at least they had fun! lol

Bookish News and What I grabbed
I wasn’t able to grab and I didn’t read anything this week. Honestly I haven’t read a book since October 21st. This slump is real and I’m not happy about it but I can’t figure how to get it to go away.
So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading

I’m so sorry to hear about Buttons. 50/50 isn’t bad odds and I will send all my well wishes your way – and I’ll send you a miracle if I find one! 7 girls? I need a nap just thinking about that amount of giggling! Have a great week!
We had a cat who had something wrong with its nervous system, kind of like that. It couldn’t use it’s back legs and was always falling over. I hope Buttons improves at home.
Awe, poor Buttons. I will be keeping her in my thoughts.
Been there with the whole bunch of girls running around, they do have fun but wow they can give you a massive headache. lol.. I’m glad you daughter had a good birthday!
It’s so sad about Buttons. I hope bringing her home will help her recoup. I am not sure if I could deal with 10 ten year olds running around the house, that was very brave of you…lol. 🙂
Have a great week!!

Aw, I’m so sorry about your kitty. We’ve gone through that with pets in the past, so I can definitely relate. It’s so hard to face that they might not be with you forever. 🙁
Happy Birthday to your daughter! We also celebrated our daughter’s birthday this weekend.
I hope you get out of your reading slump soon. Those are the worst. When I hit a slump I either reread an old favorite or read a middle grade book (quick and easy but entertaining).
Have a good week!
Sending Prayers your way for Buttons! Happy to hear that she can recover at home and sounds like she’s still got fight in her 🙂
I can’t decide which version I want to do, but definitely, want to give COYER a try! Happy reading (and Thanksgiving!), Michelle!
Thank you Mallory, We hope she will be able to recover. We are determined to help her.
I am glad you are joining. This one should be fun, we are very excited about it.
Oh, I’m sorry about Buttons. Hoping she responds well to her treatments and gets better:)
Thank you! We are hopeful it will work.
I am so sorry about our cat. I hope they get better soon. Glad you made it through your daughter’s party. Have a great week!
Thank you Grace! I am glad I made it also. Girls are screamie! They also say OMG a lot.
Sorry to hear about Buttons! Poor thing. Whichever way it goes, sending prayers and well wishes your way and for her too.
Hope your reading slump goes away. I have to admit I’ve been fighting one off and on too lately. One book took me almost three weeks to finish lol.
Happy Thanksgiving this week!
Thank you, Greg! I appreciate the prayers. We are going to do everything we can to make her comfortable.
I hope so too, it stinks so bad, I have so many books I want to read but no motivation to read them. This is the longest slump I ever had.
Oh I’m so sorry to hear about your kitty. She will be in my prayers. Whatever comes I hope you and your family will be strong. ❤️❤️❤️
I’m planning to join COYER. Thanks for the info.
Have a wonderful week.
Thank you Geybie! It has been a rough couple of says but we are hoping she gets better.
I am very happy you are joining, this one looks like it should be fun!
Prayers for Buttons! I hope she is back to her old self soon.
Thanks Samantha!
I’m sorry to hear about your kitty and keeping her in my prayers. I hope being home helps get her on the mend. She is so lucky to have a family that loves her so much!!!! I know the reading slump is real as I’ve just started to pull myself out of it. I know one day I’m going to have a house full of girls party but so far my little one falls for parties still outside the house. I hope you have a great week and happy Holiday Michelle. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts.
Thanks Mandy! She is my little girl, I need to try something, it’s not easy but is totally worth it.
I will pray that your daughter NEVER wants to have a party at the house, lol. The volume of 10 year olds is set to screech! 🙂
