News at Home: In Houston!
This is going to be a super short post because I’m currently in Houston with a good friend for the Kindergarten Teachers of Texas Conference. We left this morning around 11am and have been here in Houston since 3:30pm. We got to meet one of our Kinder idols – Mr. Greg from the Kindergarten Smorgasbord – and tomorrow we have a full day of learning and exhibits. So I’m having a blast but seriously need to get to bed.
So a quick update on this week – it was a LONG week – because I had duty which always sucks and one of my kiddos has decided to emerge as a contender for biggest behavior problem :/ But I’m handling it and I think I have a plan to make next week better. I feel like I’m having a nice chance to reflect this weekend with this conference and I think it’s going to help me have a better week next week.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week. This meme started with J Kaye’s Blog and then was taken up by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at the Book Date. And here we are!
I just finished…
I finally finished Teaching with Love and Logic and really enjoyed it! It was my second read, but the first time I read it, I hadn’t started teaching yet and it just didn’t click for me as well as it did this time.
I also finished listening to One Fell Sweep and super enjoyed it. I REALLY hope there’s more coming soon.
I finished Dead Heat and it was so good that I had a good book high for a while!
Reading Now…
I’m reading The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout and I LOVE IT! It’s a big one though and I’m afraid I’ll be reading it forever. LOL!
I’m listening to What the Duke Desires by Sabrina Jeffries. I have an author event next week and I’m sitting with her – wanted to have something fresh in mind π
Up Next…
Not a clue LOL
I thought I had and then a new one emerged :/ but I think I’m getting through to him… Fingers crossed!
I have been so crazy busy… it’s been like 2 weeks since I stopped by. But I just read your Sunday Posts (that vitamin jam sounds AWFUL!). Glad you are doing well with your #FitReaders and having fun with friends. I had a friend visit this past week and we had a blast! Also – BIG fan of Innkeeper. Love!
Don’t worry, I have done HORRIBLE visiting lately. Seems like something is always going on. Glad you had a good time with your friend!! Hope this week has been great π
Sounds like you had a fun conference. I can completely see how your teaching book makes more sense now that you’ve started teaching. So glad you enjoyed One Fell Sweep. I love that series, but face it, I love everything they write. Have a great week. π
I did and it really gave me a bit of what I needed to come back to class π yes, One Fell Sweep was good – I haven’t read much of their stuff, but I’m starting to try more! Hope you’re having a great weekend!
Hope you’re enjoying the conference and finding it beneficial.
I loved The Problem with Forever – so much! JLA is a go-to author anyway and that one was really a stand-out.
Yes! JLA is a go to for me too, and this had to be one of her best π
I hope you enjoy the conference! My brother is also in Houston; he’s part of a TXDOT clean up crew. I think we have nipped our behavior friends in the bud! Such a nice feeling! π
I hope you have a wonderful time in Houston. I love teaching conferences because I always come back recharged and ready to tackle anything! They are so energizing!
Have a great week! Good luck with your new contender for behavior bad boy!
Thanks Samantha! The conference was just what I needed to come back and deal with him π Hope you’ve had a great week!
Enjoy the conference! You must tell me who you follow for Yoga? I just started doing it slowly but a 10 minute morning yoga sounds like something I can do.
Have a great week! ox
Thanks, I had a blast and came back with lots of thoughts for my classroom π I’m using the yoga app called Downward Dog. It’s great, you should try it! Have a great week π
I hope you have a great time in Houston!
Ooh daily yoga is such a good idea. I keep meaning to do a 30 day calendar thing but always manage to…not *sigh*
Thanks! I think those 30 day challenges are too complicated for me lol. I’ve been using an app called Downward Dog and I love it. It’s free π
Have fun at the conference!
I hope Houston will be fruitful, Berls! I miss your face so much!! {{{BIG HUGS}}}
It was SO GOOD Lexxie π Miss you too {{BIGGEST HUGS}}
