Off the Blog, Blogging News and Updates:
The bookshelf is done and now I think I might need another one since I filled this one completely. It was so easy to put together and I feel like I want another one to put on the other wall but I will wait until we get more books or a bigger house. ๐ This week was rather quiet, I was able to do a little visiting and also finished up a few blog posts. I did a bunch of covers for the pre-made group and also worked on other design stuff.
On Friday I watched a Friday the 13th Marathon on Encore….backwards. YES, they played 7 movies in reverse order. So if you never saw it you now knew what happened at the end of the one before. It was the stupidest marathon I ever watched. I did still watch it but it was so annoying. At night I was watching Friday the 13th part 2 which was before part 1 and I forgot it was on Encore and not regular TV. My daughter walked into the kitchen and sat down to play on her computer. I glanced over at the TV and realized the girl was naked. I might have yelled…OMG, DON’T LOOK AT THE TV THERE IS A NAKED LADY! She yells, OMG, what are you watching? I yelled “JUST DON’T LOOK!”ย I totally forgot. She sat with her back to the TV and every time someone was naked I just said “Don’t look naked people” Do you know I didn’t realize how many times someone is naked in those movies. She kept saying “Why is everyone always naked in these movies?!?” I said that is what movies were like in the 80’s just never realized it. lol
Saturday we went Apple Picking, almost like a really quick trip. I plan to get pumpkins later in the month since I don’t want them to get rotten. I grabbed a lot of apples so I am hoping to try to make an apple pie. I never made one, if you have a good recipe let me know or email it to me. I am trying to find a good recipe.
For Christmas (yes, I said Christmas) I was planning to make some homemade vanilla extract for the family. I am going to look for vanilla beans this week so I can order the jars to put them in. It takes about 5 to 6 weeks to set so I want to get a start on it so they will be ready. I found out how to make cinnamon extract also. I really want to start making some of my own stuff, I just never know where to start. I need to find a book or just a good recipe to make jelly, jams, preserves or butters.
Blogging is going good, nothing to tell, still a little behind but I am trying to catch up but don’t forget Can you read a series in a Month sign ups are still open. The Challenge starts November 1st.
My daughter has a game today so I might not be around until later! ๐

Bookish News and What I grabbed
I’m slumping again and I am hoping the Dewey Read-a-thon next weekend will help me because I can’t believe how much I am NOT reading! ๐ I also didn’t grab anything this week. I am still reading the same two books.
So tell me what have you been reading and up to this week?
Hope you all have a fantastic week!!!
Happy Reading

I saw your premade designs on the group. I LOVE them all. You are very talented. Keep doing it. Love it. Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful week. Happy reading. ๐โค๏ธ
Thank you Geybie. That means a lot and now letโs hope someone will buy something. That would totally make my day ๐
I love that you are so excited about Christmas – me, I’ll get there eventually. We have so much crammed in between October and January it really wears me out. We have Halloween, our Anniversary, Thanksgiving (and those 2 happen to be the same date this year – yuk!) my husband’s birthday, Christmas, New Years’s and then my birthday all before the middle of January. Oh, and I forgot, Cass’ birthday is the date before Thanksgiving. I’m usually just tired once January rolls around – not to mention broke!
I have a bunch of stuff crammed too. My daughters birthday is next month, plus our anniversary was just last week. Last 3 months are always crazy but December is magical and I love every minute of it ๐
Showing a marathon backwards doesn’t seem right…geeesh! I don’t watch horror movies very often but when I do, I prefer the more camp, ridiculous and unintentionally hilarious ones (or maybe they’re funny on purpose…who knows!)
Apple picking! I’ve done that exactly once, while visiting friends in Boston, it was so fun! I can’t help you with an apple pie recipe (I use a different one each time I make a pie, because I am yet to find THE one) but I hope it is delicious ๐
Lol is that true about 80’s movies or what?? Too funny. And why did all the slasher films come out in the 80’s? I mean, not ALL but yeah sometimes I watch an 80’s flick and I’m like what was going ON in that decade????
Nice bookshelf!
Lovely bookshelf you got! I need to redo my bookshelf someday!
Thank you! I keep touching it every time I walk by lol
Your bookshelf looks so organized and pretty. I am silently on the hunt (OK, I haven’t started yet) for new shelves. I want a tallish bookcase but I want enough shelves to be a little shorter than what you’ve done. I don’t have that many tall books. I’m glad you got some cover work done! Sounds like an easy, quiet week…besides the whole movie thing. There are so many naked people in movies that we don’t even realize. We’re so desensitized. Good luck with your extract Christmas project. That sounds really nice.
I found these in Sears and I also found one in Ikea that was almost similar. I actually want to get another just in case so I always have it, when I need it.
I am hoping the next few weeks are quiet, I am so tired of busy weeks. Lol
I now need to find the vanilla beans which I didn’t realize are rather hard to find. I might have to take a trip to Trader Joes or Whole Foods to see if they have them .
It sounds like you had quite the eventful Friday the 13th! (Who does a marathon in reverse order? ).
Have you ever tried an apple crisp before? We do pie from time-to-time, but the crisp is pretty easy to throw together given that we usually mess-up the crust at some point. Lots of sugar, butter, and cinnamon (I believe these are are legit food groups, yes?) Here’s the recipe we use: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/12409/apple-crisp-ii/
I have but I don’t have a recipe but I plan to pin the one you suggested. My husband actually loved apple crisp ๐
Why on earth would anyone think it was a good idea to show a marathon of movies in reverse?!? I kind of chuckled at the nudity thing though because that is totally something I would do if I had kids!
Have a great week!
NO IDEA! And those tend to have a theme so you sort of need to watch them in order, especially the first 2 and 4, 5 & 6 since it centers around a kid named Tommy.
My daughter was so confused about the nude stuff, I was cracking up.
The whole in reverse thing was weird, I skipped it and read instead. I am planning to watch a few Halloween classics though. Hope your week is amazing. The bookshelf looks nice, and yep you need another!
I know TMC has a lot of classes but I really just thought they would do a marathon on the 13th. Thank you, I keep touching all the books, so nice to have them all finally displayed properly.
I’m amazed you can watch those halloween movies. I would be hiding behind a pillow most of the time. I had no idea that in those movies from the 80s were so many naked scenes – honestly, I thought they had even less naked skin than nowadays. I’m originally from Europe, so naked skin in movies is nothing new, but here in the US, I’m used to a shoulder or a leg, but that’s it. ๐
Lol, in the 80s everyone was always getting naked and then killed ๐ horror movies now are more gory than nude. I love those movies and Iโm hoping for a Halloween marathon but I doubt it.
