Sunday
Today was a little crazy, but really good. Kiko felt mostly better today but was worried about the white spots on his tonsils, that they might be strep. So we made a MinuteClinic appointment for him at noon. Which meant I had to rush my grocery pickup at 11-12 with Walmart and just completely skip my Sam’s pickup (1 item and they usually don’t care if you come at a different time). He didn’t have strep (which I wasn’t shocked by, seeing as he had no fever or other symptoms) and the doctor said it is likely still a side effect of getting his COVID booster. So then I dropped him and Dante back off at home and finished my grocery pickup. While we were out I got an email with my receipt for my Sam’s Club pickup… which I had not picked up. Thankfully they found my order and it was just an error. Then I did my Target pickup and my weekly car wash.
The rest of the afternoon was laundry and playing with Dante. I also worked on my BUJO and watched a bit of MAFS, the reunion part 1 was very shocking and I’m excited for part 2. After dinner and cleaning up it was bath time and then bedtime. It’s hard to believe we were having so much trouble just a couple weeks ago, Dante is back to himself with just lying down and going to sleep, thank goodness <3! Now to get myself to bed at a decent time!
Monday
Today was BUSY. First day without our admin so I had things to do to cover for her, plus we now know we are going to have our survey soon so there’s lots of prep work for that. Plus, my friend Rosa (teacher) is off this week and was going to be in my area for an appointment for her daughter, so we met up for lunch. And then I had school work to do (I’m a little behind). So I stayed busy pretty much all day. I didn’t make it to the gym and I have a feeling that might be the pattern for the week, along with maybe not the best eating… but I’m going to attempt to do well – like I had a salad at lunch and iced tea (no soda). Oh and this morning I officially declined the job offer. Gamble complete… I’m betting on myself and being successful with this web developing, which means I should get off here and work on my homework! Thankfully Dante had a great evening and went down to bed super easy, so I have time to focus.
Tuesday – Saturday
Well things only got busier! Tuesday I was in the office and since we have a survey coming any day I was super busy the entire day. I even had to work later than usual. But I did get everything I needed to done, so huzzah!
Wednesday I had planned to take the day, but I had a few things I really needed to get done and my boss giving us a free 4 hours if we worked 4. So I started my day at 6:30 and I was basically done by 9. I officially clocked out at 10:30 when I took Dante for a playdate. We had a really nice time and celebrated his two best friend’s birthdays. The oldest boy was born on 11/25 and the youngest boy was born 12/3… so joint birthday!
Thursday we went to Campbell and spent Thanksgiving with Franky and family. Dante slept on the way there and we had a really nice time. On the way home, Dante didn’t want to go to sleep (it’s an hour drive, he always goes to sleep!) so he didn’t get to bed until almost 11pm.
But he slept in Friday morning. He started waking up around 8 but I brought him to bed and he slept another 1.5 hours in our bed. I spent the morning cleaning and then my brother and Zach came over for our second Thanksgiving. Kiko and Zach chatted and played with Dante while my brother and I cooked. We reheated some leftovers from our respective Thanksgivings (they went to Zach’s parents) and then we also made Lamb Roast, some potatoes and veggies, sausage stuffing, and an apple crisp. We also drank 2.5 bottles of wine and had a really nice night. Dante went to bed early – didn’t want to nap and with his late night last night he was tired – but Phil and Zach stayed pretty late. Clean up was actually really easy and I wasn’t too much later to bed.
Saturday was about relaxing for the most part, caught up on MAFS. Though I also did run and grab a couple things for Dante — he’s become a super picky eater and we were out of the only 2-3 things he will eat these days — and I also did a lot of school work today. Dante has a nasty cough (so does Kiko) and it woke him from his nap. But he was tired and ended up sleeping in my arms another hour while I caught up on some reading. I laid him back down and he slept another 45 minutes, during that time I did school work. He woke up super fussy and only wanting me, so I brought him to the couch and gradually he settled into some snacks and his tablet. While we snuggled I caught up on some more reading. Now I just put him to bed, placed my grocery order for tomorrow and I’m getting ready to head to bed as well. So much to do tomorrow since I have to work on Monday this week in anticipation of survey coming.

Challenge update
This week I finished:
I’m participating in 4 reading challenges this year. Here’s how I’m doing:
Backlist Reader hosted by Lark @ Bookwyrms Hoard: 46 books
Library Love hosted by Books of My Heart & Angel’s Guilty Pleasures: 13 books
New Release hosted by (un)Conventional Bookworms: 17 books
COYER (Fall) hosted by Because Reading: 24 books
Added to My Shelf
I’m trying to be more responsible about keeping track of the books I acquire, so I’m going to start sharing them again. If I share them here, surely I’ll remember to add them to Goodreads, right?
I’m glad you had a good time with your family and that he didn’t have strep.
Happy belated Thanksgiving. Glad you had a lovely time. I hope the survey and this week ahead go smoothly.
It seems like you’ve done well to balance work and fun this past week.
I hope Dante and Kikio feel better
Wishing you a great reading week
A busy week but a good week. Hopefully everyone can stay healthy as it seems you are just getting back to the regular schedule after Dante’s being sick and moving. Lulu is loving the no construction life. She spent all day yesterday on her couch, didn’t even come up to the office with me. She’s up here this morning though, snoozing until we go for our walk.
Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post
Glad you had a nice holiday with family! I feel like the long weekend just flew by. Just yesterday I was thinking oh wow the weekend is half over and now it pretty much feels over despite my needing to run a few errands that didn’t get done either yesterday or Friday. Plus a few other things around the house I need to do as well.
Nice new reads! I don’t usually get to read holiday reads. Not too many of my authors write holiday themed novellas or stories so I’m always just reading whatever during the holidays. Lol. Hope you enjoyed the new reads.
Here’s my StS
Have a GREAT day!
