Reading:

I was on a roll this week with reading. I did my normal reading a book and ebook and of course the ebook had to be the last book in the Royally Screwed series. I really loved the series and the book gave hints to at least two more books and I can’t wait for them. I was able to finish Hot Dog Girl which was really cute even if the MC was a touch annoying and selfish. I thought it was a cute book, I should have a review for it soon. Cherry Pie was interesting, totally over the top and the review for that will be up this week. Nightmares is my TBR list but I was dying to read The Kingdom so Nightmares is going to have to wait.

I did good this week and only grabbed one book but that doesn’t mean I didn’t preorder two. 😛 One will be in next week and I will have that next Sunday! 😀

Real life & Blogging:

So it’s still a bit slow around the blog but I did have a few posts that I was able to do for last week. I am still working on a few for this week and hope to finish them today after I clean the house today.

It has been a quiet week but the people down stairs moved out and they left the apartment a disaster. I feel so bad for my dad (he owns the house) he has to do so much work now to clean it up. I can’t believe how bad it is. The house smells awful because they had two dogs that never go outside and piss and shit in the house plus she would leave them for 3 or 4 days, alone. We also discovered yesterday that they must of had mice in the hallway downstairs, which means they might still be in the house. I will need to peppermint the entire down stairs and the hall to try and get them to leave the house. The apartment needs new everything and fresh paint. I am hoping it wont cost my dad a lot of money. I just can’t believe she left it like that. Some people are so gross and she never seemed like that but I should have realized when she would spend more time sleeping and less time cleaning. My husband and I plan to help my dad the best we can and already have people that want to see the apartment. Fingers crossed we can clean it up and make it look awesome again. Some people are just so disgusting.

What I am watching:

I finished Rizzoli and Isles, I really loved watching it and going to miss it. I now need to find something else on my list to watch. I am worried it will be Bones again! 😉

Just for Fun:

  1. Wow you did great with reading so many books in one week. I hope Kingdom is a good one.

That sounds like a lot of effort to clean up the apartment. What a shame they left it in such a mess. Let’s hope you can all get it clean again soon and it won’t cost your dad too much money.

    Have a great week!

  2. Ooh a good reading week! Mine sucked lol. I read almost NOTHING. Oh well…

Sorry to hear about the apartment! They left dogs for 3 or 4 DAYS? Wow, that must be a mess. I don’t get people like that…

Hope it’s not too bad for you guys and your dad.

  3. My in-laws had bad tenants three times in a row before they finally just sold their rental home. Always so tough to get good ones. Hopefully, this time around will be better.

the Poppy War looks good and way to go on all that reading. Fun that your Madison Faye books are going to continue.

    Have a good week, Michelle!

  4. OMG Michelle I am sorry for your dad! It’s always a risk taking tenants! Now The Poppy War is a book I am considering to listen to as I am a bit in a book funk and it got many good reviews! On a side note you describing the girl in hot dog girl as selfush does not surprise me as many had similar comments. Happy Sunday!

  5. Some people have depression and other issues that make it impossible to do the cleanliness thing, but then there are some people who are just plain disgusting. Let’s hope your kitties are keeping the mice away from your place. Make a bucket trap and see if you catch any. My husband made one and put it under the house, in the crawlspace because the mice weren’t coming up into the house with the cats here. But when one died under there, under our bathroom, I said that was enough. What a disgusting smell. Snakes eat them in the summer, but winter needed the bucket trap to keep them out.
    Bucket Trap
Fill a 5 gallon bucket about 1/4 way with water.
Take two soda cans, put a hole in the bottom and thread a coat hanger through them.
Bend hanger and attach to bucket so cans are over the water.
Put peanut butter on the cans. Just a little bit. The smell will attrack them.
Use a sturdy board as a ramp to the rim of the bucket.
Mice will go up the ramp, step onto the cans to get the peanut butter, cans will spin them into the water, mice drown.
    The end.

  6. Renters can be so awful! You did great with your reading! So I had some money left on a gift card and went and grabbed Poppy War since it was on sale, I have been curious about it but it’s not my normal kind of read. 🙂 Sometimes I need something different.

Have a great week! Miss ya face!

  7. What a disaster the downstairs renter left. I don’t think I will ever understand people who don’t take care of things. It’s such a rude and disrespectful thing to do.

Summer always slows everything down, I think. I loved it when I was working, and I had time during the summers to rest and relax. Now that I’m retired, summer just feels a little…slow.

    Have a great week!

  8. I’m sorry to hear about the state they left the apartment in. I’ll never understand it… I rented for years but always left things in good order (sometimes better than when we moved in). It was a pride thing. That and getting my deposit back!

I tried the Madison Faye series and it sadly wasn’t for me. 🙁

    • I know, I would never even want to live in a house live that. It always smelled but my dad is just not meant to rent, he is too nice. I should have said something but I just didn’t want to cause issues. I am glad they are gone now and hoping the next people we get are better.

Madison Faye isn’t for everyone. I love over the top insta love ridiculous. lol Some of her stories was so out there and the men growl a lot. lol
