#WISHLIST ~ This week has a theme…Beauty and the Beast

I am going with a theme this week 🙂 Since last week I saw Beauty and The Beast I found two books that were recently released and are sitting on my Amazon Wishlist whispering my name. These two I might break down and grab. I am eager to read both of these books.

On the Ebook Wishlist:

Bellamy and the Brute
by Alicia Michaels
Paperback
Published March 13th 2017 by Clean Teen Publishing

Amazon

When Bellamy McGuire is offered a summer job babysitting for the wealthy Baldwin family, she’s reluctant to accept. After all, everyone in town knows about the mysterious happenings at the mansion on the hill including the sudden disappearance of the Baldwin’s eldest son, Tate. The former football star and golden boy of Wellhollow Springs became a hermit at the age of sixteen, and no one has seen or heard from him since. Rumors abound as to why, with whisperings about a strange illness one that causes deformity and turned him into a real-life monster. Bellamy wants to dismiss these rumors as gossip, but when she’s told that if she takes the job, she must promise to never, ever visit the third floor of the mansion, she begins to wonder if there really is some dark truth hidden there.

Tate’s condition may not be the only secret being kept at Baldwin House. There are gaps in the family’s financial history that don’t add up, and surprising connections with unscrupulous characters. At night there are strange noises, unexplained cold drafts, and the electricity cuts out. And then there are the rose petals on the staircase. The rose petals that no one but Bellamy seems to be able to see. The rose petals that form a trail leading right up to the 3 rd floor, past the portrait of a handsome young man, and down a dark hallway where she promised she would never, ever go

As Bellamy works to unravel the mysteries of Baldwin House and uncover the truth about Tate, she realizes that she is in way over her head in more ways than one. Can her bravery and determination help to right the wrongs of the past and free the young man whose story has captured her heart?

I just love the sound of this book. I did a blitz for it about a month ago and it has been on my radar ever since. I had to add it to my wishlist because it’s a book I am determined to read and get when I can. I love a good YA retelling plus I am enjoying the clean reads lately. However I still love my smut which you will see in my next pick this week 🙂

Beauty of the Beast (Fairy Tale Retellings #1)
by Rachel L. Demeter

Experience the world’s most enchanting and timeless love story—retold with a dark and realistic twist.

A BEAST LIVING IN THE SHADOW OF HIS PAST

Reclusive and severely scarred Prince Adam Delacroix has remained hidden inside a secluded, decrepit castle ever since he witnessed his family’s brutal massacre. Cloaked in shadow, with only the lamentations of past ghosts for company, he has abandoned all hope, allowing the world to believe he died on that tragic eve twenty-five years ago.

A BEAUTY IN PURSUIT OF A BETTER FUTURE

Caught in a fierce snowstorm, beautiful and strong-willed Isabelle Rose seeks shelter at a castle—unaware that its beastly and disfigured master is much more than he appears to be. When he imprisons her gravely ill and blind father, she bravely offers herself in his place.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

Stripped of his emotional defenses, Adam’s humanity reawakens as he encounters a kindred soul in Isabelle. Together they will wade through darkness and discover beauty and passion in the most unlikely of places. But when a monster from Isabelle’s former life threatens their new love, Demrov’s forgotten prince must emerge from his shadows and face the world once more…

Perfect for fans of Beauty and the Beast and The Phantom of the Opera, Beauty of the Beast brings a familiar and well-loved fairy tale to life with a rich setting in the kingdom of Demrov and a captivating, Gothic voice.

* * *

Beauty of the Beast is the first standalone installment in a series of classic fairy tales reimagined with a dark and realistic twist.

Disclaimer: This is an edgy, historical romance retelling of the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast. Due to strong sexual content, profanity, and dark subject matter, including an instance of sexual assault committed by the villain, Beauty of the Beast is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Did you get chills? Because I get chills reading this synopsis. It sounds very dark but something just makes me want to read it so bad. I sort of like the edgy sexy books. This one sounds like it is not for the faint of heart which makes me even more excited. This one was recently released so it hasn’t been on my Wishlist for long but I have had my eye on it since I saw it on Netgalley. (I was denied, oh well)

This feature is a work in progress, I am sure I will add and take away as I go.

Have you seen or read these books?

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by

Have a great day and happy reading!

    • The covers are fantastic! While not my favorite fairytale it is in the top 3. I have seen a few books that are so pretty for this story. They really are hard to resist.

  1. Beauty and the Beast is probably my favorite fairy tale (although I am partial to Little Red Riding Hood as well and totally root for the wolf). I’m super interested in Demeter’s book because I love dark tales and this one sounds like it would fit the bill.

    • Beauty and the Beast is in my top 3 but not my favorite. I love a good Red Riding Hood retelling, not sure they have enough of those.
YES, I might have to bend and get it because I can’t wait to read that one.
