Just a somewhat normal week, Yay! ~ WIR & TSP

Posted March 13, 2016 by Michelle in The Sunday Post, WIReadview / 16 Comments

WIR&TSPWeek in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news, post a recap of the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

On the Blog & Real Life:

Working on getting organized and updating my planner. It has been working out really well and I am feeling a lot more bloggy, now just have to get rid of the reading slump but with the 24 hour Read-a-thon yesterday, I think that crisis has been averted. It seems that I just couldn’t get into any books and that might be just because I needed a reading break. I can’t wait for the warmer weather because I seem to be in the mood to read a lot more in the spring/summer. I was able to read 2 1/2 books and I am feeling much better about reading again. Thank goodness. This year really isn’t going as I had planned but it’s not over yet. ๐Ÿ™‚

This week has been very quiet, other than a bunch of design work for Limabean Design. Work has been rather busy and I am actually very happy about that since we have been slow for a long while now. I hope this keeps up since as much as my job is getting on my nerves it is what works for my schedule right now. I would love to move at some point but I think we might need another year or so before we make any major changes. For now we will make due with what we got. ๐Ÿ™‚

Nothing new is happening, the weather has been really weird, the beginning of the week was chilly but by Wednesday it was 82 then on Saturday we were back to the 60’s. This weather is so confusing, next week seems to be back to normal but I must say I didn’t mind the warm weather and that is really weird for me since I usually love the cold. Maybe my weather mood is changing…is that a thing? Anyway, I am actually looking forward to the warm weather and visits to the park with the kids and doing a lot of stuff outdoors. It will be nice to get to the shore house again. If we do decided to move that is where I want to go, like if we lived down there this weekend we would have went to the boardwalk to walk around. Saying that makes me not want to wait a year or so. ๐Ÿ™‚

This week will be a little slow on the blog as I am finally trying to play catch up. I think skipping a week or two will help me get ahead better and be able to stay on that type of schedule. I also seem to be making a few visits to blogs again, right now it is on Fridays when I am off and the kids are at school, I really missed visiting you all. Being a little more organized has really helped with the stress so I am hopeful I can keep this up and so far…so good. ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted this book so bad and when it popped up on Edelweiss I had to grab it. I am trying to avoid all galleys and freebies for the rest of this month…Let’s see how that goes. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  1. I’ve been getting behind on the blog thanks to a downed computer…for almost a week. Gah! Tuesday we had some out-of-ordinary weather in the 90s. It was a record day, and before the spring solstice! I think I got a little too much sun, and was warm that night. I am behind on a few reviews, and about to finish reading three books. Gotta get cranking! Happy reading.

  2. My cure for reading slumps tends to be to reread something I’ve always loved – like Howl’s Moving Castle. I’m glad you enjoyed Kimba’s readathon yesterday though!
I just read Uprooted – I hope you’re enjoying it ๐Ÿ™‚ I’m getting back into reading urban fantasy this week so I’m pretty excited!
    Have a good week, Michelle!

  3. I am glad to hear your organization and blogging stuff has been going well and let’s hope the readathon helped banish your reading slump. And I am so happy for you your design work is picking up! I hope it stays that way!

I don’t mind the cold, but after winter I am always happy when spring comes around again. And spring is one of my favourite seasons, i love seeing everything become green again.

I also have dreams of moving sometimes. I would love to move somewhere to a more quiet place with more green. I hope to move to Germany eventually, but I’ll be patient,. Our current house is at a good place and I can actually see green when I look out of my window, which is already great.

I think taking it a bit slower for a few weeks can help to get organized again. The cover for There Were Once Stars looks great, I hope it’s a good book! Buttons is so adorable, I like that picture of her! I hope you’ll have a great week!

  4. I missed the design work you’ve done lately. I must run to FB and check them out. You were in a slump because you were waiting for Baby Boone along with me. Now that he’s here we can both get it in gear ๐Ÿ˜€

We’ve got a few years before we decide on any major changes, like moving or anything. For now, we’ll just keep moseying on. ๐Ÿ™‚ Moving to the shore though sounds fabulous.

Our weather has been super nice though I think near 80 when there are no leaves on the trees for shade is a bit ridiculous. But what are we going to do? Mother Nature is being a bitch again. I did get some seeds started. I need to start more, but we’ll do that next week. I’m relaxing today. And that’s final. LOL

Have a wonderful week, Michell! xoxo

    • That could totally be the reason. So happy he is finally here and we can go back to normal again! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Just today I am sitting by the window thinking it would be fun to go to the boardwalk and just walk around even if everything is closed. I love it so much down there and I think I need the change. Things around here just aren’t like they used to be and I need a change.

You need to carry an umbrella with you until the trees catch up. ๐Ÿ™‚ I need to start my garden soon. Probably in April just need the weather to stay steady with now super cold days. Last night was so cold but today is gorgeous. Get it together MOTHER NATURE!!!

  5. I’m glad you’re feeling more motivated both about reading and blogging once more, Michelle. And you’re allowed to take time off whenever you feel like it, right?
Can you believe BEA is going to happen quite soon now? I’m so looking forward to meeting you for real, just know you’ll get a lot of hugs ๐Ÿ™‚
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading.

  6. Yey to feeling more bloggy! And that is great news on Limabean Designs (I saw some of the banners you did for Lola on facebook and they looked fab!) I got out of my reading slump this week too! (And may have read 5 books in the same series back to back…oops). Have a great week Michele and happy reading!

  7. Great job on the readathon! That sounds like a lot of fun. I hear you on the weather- I’m ready for the warm up too (yes I’ll be bitching about the humidity in July, but that’s far away lol) and getting by the water is always nice. Boardwalks are always a nice stroll!

Relic looks creepy and fun! And Gretchen McNeil- didn’t she do TEN and Get Even? Ooh that might be good…

Happy reading this week! Hope the weather cooperates… cute cat BTW!

    • YES! Relic is from Gretchen McNeil! I have been stacking the book for some time now and I have Ten but haven’t read it yet. Might binge read her soon.

I HATE the summer, it’s just so hot. Even today I have the window open and keep thinking I would love to go for a walk on the boardwalk ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. As you know from my blog Michelle – I completely get where you’re coming from when you talk about ‘catching up’ on the blogging stuff.

I’m glad work’s been a bit busier for you… particularly if it’s been a bit slow.

Enjoy this week’s reading and I hope you continue after the kick-start from the read-a-thon. I love the cover of There Once Were Stars…

    • At this point I think catching up is the wrong words. I think I need to move forward and not worry about catching up. It’s just stressing me out lol

It has been very nice but my boss can never balance slow or busy so we work in what I like to call Complete Chaos to get that stuff done. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am looking forward to reading it and the cover is what really got me.
