2017 1/2 Way Point…What I’ve read so far.

Posted June 23, 2017 by Michelle in Monthly Book Report / 7 Comments

I will be honest and say it’s not as many as I would have wanted. I was hoping by the half way point I would be at least half way with the goodreads reading challenge. I set it this year at 80 and I am at 34 books read. Not my best number, probably better than a lot of people but for me I wanted to up my reading this year and I have failed at it. The summer I plan to abandon all things and just spend time reading. I think I am in serious need of a life break.

Here are the books I read this year…DNF books are included in the 34 but are not here. You can see my full list on Goodreads.

The first half of the year was hit or miss with books, I didn’t give out a lot of 5 star, one actually, most of my reads are between 4 and 3 stars.

So this second half of the year I am looking forward to my next favorite read. I have a lot of books I want to read or plan to read. With the COYER challenge in full swing, I plan to stick to the list I made for that. You can see that list HERE! I am excited about the rest of the year, I have a great list of books lined up and I hope to read most if not all of them and blow my Reading Challenge away with over 80 books. Wish me luck!

Favorite Books from the first half…

This trilogy totally surprised me, I picked them up on KU and was blown away by how awesome the story was. They are short reads but it’s one hell of a story.

The Turner Street Series

How did you do the first half of the year

Have a great day and Happy Reading!

  1. A life break sounds good. I always mean to spend more time reading but never quite do and looking back nothing that I’m pushing reading aside for is really that important. My number is pretty good but I haven’t been reading like I’ve wanted to read. My goal this year was to focus more on books I really wanted to read and books that had been on my shelf for awhile but I haven’t done great at that. Good luck with the 2nd half of 2017!

    • The week of the 4th should be a nice break with the kids away but I already know I will miss them. That was my goal too and I agree when I look back I see nothing important that I couldn’t have just spent time reading.

  2. I probably haven’t even read that many. Life’s too busy. Looks like you had a nice mix though. I need to keep on w/ Lumberjames, I’m just curious enough to keep reading. And you had quite a few 4 stars. Most of mine have been three’s if I were starring, but I’ve had a few 5’s too. Not a bad year all the way around.

  3. Sounds like you got a bunch of books read! I only have had two 5 star reads so far this year, but I did a lot of 4 stars and quite some 3 stars as well. I think I only DNF’d one book so far. So it has been a pretty decent reading year so far. I am glad you found a trilogy you enjoyed so much! It’s great when you find a new series you enjoy.
