Blogging, Bookish and Real Life  News:

HOLY CRAP! Christmas is TUESDAY! I have so much to do today and the next two days. Here is some highlights from the week.

  • Busy week at work, had to finish up all jobs before I left on Thursday
  • I have off this week after Christmas (first time in 7 years)
  • Officially finished all wrapping
  • Had my daughters Cheer Banquet on Saturday. It was nice and the girls had a great time.
  • Accidentally dyed my hair blue black…it wasn’t suppose to be this black. It still looks nice 🙂

I was able to finish a few design jobs and some blogging stuff so the next three days I am free to enjoy the holidays but plan to get back to it on Wednesday. When I have a few minutes and standing around, I plan to organize all I want to do the week I am off. I plan to spend it with the kids (however I am sure they will be playing with their stuff), reading and also getting ahead on some stuff I am really behind on. It will be a nice break, I really can’t wait for it.

I had some fun new ideas for the blog. I am really looking forward to the new year and blogging. I honestly think I am in a much better place right now, even with a few minors challenges that present themselves every so often, I am able to work through them and I am proud of myself. You can read more about this on my first Out with the Old/In with the New.

You still have plenty of time to check out and Sign up for these challenges!

2019 Reading Assignment, if you joined last year it was basically you list the books you want to read and read them each month. That was a fun challenge but a lot of people are mood readers so instead, he hired 3 teachers and they set up class. So Spring Semester is now taking class registration. You can sign up for one class or all 3. Our Author Love challenge is now part of the reading assignment.

A Year in Anthologies I had a conversation a few months ago about not getting to Anthologies and then I had a great idea. Why not make it a challenge to read as many anthologies as you can, the bigger the better. You can pick one or a few as long as you read the entire thing by the end of the year…also the more pages the more points you get in the giveaway.

2019 Bookish Resolutions I used to host this with another blogger but she’s now a pretty popular author so Berls agreed to help me out, so basically you just make your list of resolutions and if you can complete them by the end of the year you get a point in the giveaway but wait there is more….We also are linking this challenge with our BRAND NEW! Bookish Bootcamp that will be similar to Bloggiesta and also Task it Tuesday will be back starting in Jan. You can find all the details on the sign up.

What I grabbed

Woah! How did this happen! 😉

Falconer was from my COYER Secret Santa. I have had that book on my list for a while and the cover is just gorgeous, I got this as a physical book. My owlcrates came this week two and I love getting books that aren’t on my radar because now they are. Amber and Dusk is a gorgeous book, the cover is so pretty in person. We were thinking of getting rid of the owlcrates next year but since my husband didn’t stop smoking, I think my daughter and I will keep our boxes since it’s a lot cheaper a month than cigarettes.

If I grab books before release date I prefer ebooks but if it’s after release I will usually grab the physical. Since Wicked and Raven isn’t out yet I am very happy with my eArcs! I can’t wait to dive into them they are my most anticipated for 2019

Totally Random:

Berls and I have a new co-blogger.
Meet Mr. Auggie, he is currently hard at work writing up a posts! 😂

  1. Hey! Glad your week went so well. Sounds like you’ll have a great next week too.

Just in case this wasn’t on purpose, your Reading Assignment link went to Bookish Resolutions.

  2. Merry Christmas!!! Holy crap is right lol- it’s almost HERE. And yay for having the week off- breaks are so awesome this time of year. 🙂 The holiday is so much better when you don’t have to go to work the next day…

  3. Yay for the time off and a chance to go into planning mode. 🙂 Enjoy your family Christmas and vacation, Michelle.

LOL, Mr. Augie has quite an expression.

  4. I am so happy you have the time off and hope you get a break and relax some also. I find I need a day or so to unwind before I can really get myself to do anything. I try to lump my tasks so I have bigger blocks of time to do things. Like I do all the errands one day, so I can have another day totally at home. Today I have to go out a bit and then lots of cooking. This morning I already tackled laundry.
Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy your time and your new books and have an amazing holiday week. Anne – Books of My Heart

  5. I’m so happy to be off for two weeks, Michelle! Even if I have some work to do (like grading 36 papers…) it’s going to be nice not to have to set my alarm clock. Plus spending time with Mr. Lex and the kids plus pups 🙂
I wish you and your family the best Christmas, and hope you’ll have the time to read the books you want, and plot and plan as you want.
Big hugs! I miss your face!!
