Getting over lazies and now we have 5 ~ WIR & TSP

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

Well one of your Hermit Crabs (Angle) passed on to that big beach in the sky. My son was so upset it broke my heart but we still have 5 and I told him we can get another one if he wants one but he said it’s not necessary. I felt so bad that it was his favorite that passed. He had me in tears while he was crying. I realized that when you name critters you become more attached to them, I was actually really upset when I found him but I am glad I found him and not the kids.

I realized the Summer lazies aren’t gone yet. The kids are back in school and I get my Friday Blogging day back. Well not this Friday since I spend all day watching Once Upon a Time trying to catch up on last season. As I write this I have 4 episodes left, I have watched 13 since Friday. I am hoping by the time you are reading this I will have finished the last 4. I really haven’t read a lot and at the moment I realize a pretty cover doesn’t always mean a great book. I am having a VERY hard time getting into Crown of Ice and if it doesn’t spark my interest by the end of today (Saturday) I am totally out ๐Ÿ™ I think I need a change of genre, I’m not sure. I seem to be bailing on books left and right with so many out now it’s hard to waste time on one if you aren’t connecting with it, it’s a bummer.

The blog is slow this week but I have a couple posts and a review I might sneak in. Did you see My TBR List Meme? It’s up you can join at anytime. Just set up a post with your three choices and link it to the linky and we will all help you vote. Don’t want to participate this time? No problem why not just help us by voting ๐Ÿ™‚ You can find the post HERE with the Linky to the other blogs!

  1. Oh no, poor Angle. It is true they do mean more when they have been given a name. We have two crabs who have been named Sebastian and Jackson (my kids named them). We’ve only had them for a few weeks. It is heartbreaking when the kids get so upset isn’t it? I feel for your son.
I’m also glued to Once Upon A Time. I’m somewhere in the middle of season 1 and just trying to catch up. Great show.
    Have a great week Michelle.

    • Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚ He totally broke my heart I felt so bad ๐Ÿ™
I finished season 3 and OMG I am in love with that show! I am actually having withdrawals and want to watch it over again ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. That’s awful about the hermit crab and so sad that it was your son’s favorite. Definitely best you found it. I want to watch Once Upon a Time! It’s on my Netflix list but I haven’t gotten to it yet. This is possibly because my to watch list is about as long as my to read list! Have a great week!

    • Move it to the top of the list! It’s the best show ever (maybe not ever but it’s the best) the way they twist everything together is mind boggling! I love it watched 17 eps in 3 days.

So sorry about the crab and it’s good that you found him and not your kids.

While I like a pretty cover, it’s absolutely no guarantee of a good story. The cover might catch my eye but it’s the blurb that sells me. Not that that’s any guarantee either. ๐Ÿ˜€ Good luck with your book and finding something to read. I agree that a change of genre might be a good idea; I know it helps me when I get in a rut.

    • Thank you ๐Ÿ™‚
I am going to finish a series after these and see if maybe that change will help me. Sometimes getting back to something you love throws you out of a rut ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Oh no, sorry to hear about the crab. That’s always tough for the kids when a pet passes like that. I hope your next read is better than Crown of Ice, that’s too bad it turned out disappointing. I’ll have to go vote in your TBR poll! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Thank you! It was rough for him and hard to explain ๐Ÿ™
Yes pick a good one lol I need a good read to get over the last few that didn’t work so well for me!

  5. I feel so bad for Ryan – losing a pet sucks ๐Ÿ™ I don’t even want to think about it. And a book having a great cover but not a good story is the worst – happens more often than I’d like! I need to go back and read your reviews too – I’m so behind (as usual).

    • I am so behind of blogs, now that I have my fridays back I should be able to get a nice routine going. Just need to get motivated to do that ๐Ÿ™‚ I believe a Bloggiesta is coming up that always kicks me into shape Lol

  6. The TBR List meme looks good…but, to clarify, are those books on your wish list…or books you actually possess? My TBR STACKS (books I possess) are what I need to work on…the wish list is just dreaming about books…LOL. Enjoy your week, and you can find my post at my Serendipity blog. (Your commenting system won’t take “too many URLs,” whatever that means!) LOL

    • They can be actual books you posses ๐Ÿ™‚ Have a TBR list of books that I want to read and some I already have in my possess. My list this week is of books I have and have been wanting to read but just haven’t gotten too yet this now lets me at least get to one. If sort of forces me to make time to read it ๐Ÿ™‚ it’s a perfect plan really lol I am not sure why it does that but don’t worry I always visit everyone that visits me link or no link ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. I am so sorry you hermit crab died :(. Although at least it was a good thing that you found him/her and not the kids. I remember I once found my rabbit death in her cage when I was younger and that really scared me. Pets have a way to get into your heart so fast and it’s always hard to lose one.

I didn’t get any reading done this week either :(. I am sad to hear Crown of Ice is a bit disapointing so far, maybe it picks up later?

    • It really is very upsetting since it was a retelling of the snow queen and I was looking forward to it but it just isn’t working ๐Ÿ™
