After Vacation ~ WIR & TSP 8/9

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

With a few schedules posts and a comment here or there I left for vacation on Monday to spend a couple days relaxing with the family. Heading the Wildwood, NJ to spend sometime enjoying the pool, Water Park and boardwalk we had so much fun and of course hated to leave. I didn’t do a lot of blog thinking just relaxed and read when I could. Thought I would share a few pictures from my vacation, we even came home with a new friend for Julia, Flyra the Hermit Crab.

It was nice to step away for a couple days and by Friday I couldn’t wait to jump back into blogging. I missed it ๐Ÿ™‚ I missed commenting on blogs and I missed chatting with people on Twitter and FB and I realize I spend so much time checking FB and other sites why not spend more time visiting blogs I enjoy. I feel like I am a little more organized and have more time to visit like I want to. The one thing I realized is that I read a lot of blogs but don’t comment and then wonder why I get no comments….So I want to apologize for not commenting and being a jerk about wanting comments but not returning the favor. I know you don’t have to comment on everything you read but I use to share the post just so you knew I was there…I plan to do more of that ๐Ÿ™‚

    • Bloody Mary was really good, I enjoyed it in all it’s creepiness ๐Ÿ™‚ vacation was a lot of fun and much needed it was nice to get away for a while ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Crane looks scary and the Forbidden library looks tempting ! I’m not a great commenter myself, either I don’t have time or I don’t have material in working order, so… Well, you can’t have it all, just enjoy life ๐Ÿ˜‰ Have a great week !

    • Crane was good not very scary just a really interesting retelling of sleepy hollow. I’m excited to start Forbidden Library. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • i didn’t realize how much it took to take care of hermit crabs. I gave it a bath today and I think I will be going out to get it a new home this weekend something a little bigger. My daughter loves her and is so excited to have a pet of her own.

    • When I was little we use to go down for a week with the family and stay in North Wildwood and got to know a lot of people too. Really was Good Times!

  2. Honestly sometimes I read posts and don’t comment. It just depends on how much time I have. I have been real busy these past couple weeks and haven’t been able to visit as many blogs as I would like. I went on vacation too and just didn’t have time to blog.. but that was also a little on purpose. Internet free!

    • I agree you can’t comment all the time that’s why sometimes I will just share the post just like an “I was here” type of thing Lol. Internet free vacations are the best. I had spotty access so I was only allowed on for a limited amount of time ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Sounds like you had a great vacation :).
I’ve been doing some more blog commenting lately and I am really glad I have the time for it as it’s really fun to have more time to visit other people’s blogs. I think sharing also is a great idea instead of commenting. It always fun to know people have read your post :).

    • It really is, I sometimes just don’t have anything to say about the book review or the discussion so this is a nice way to show them you were there ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Welcome back!!!!!!! I’ve missed you ๐Ÿ™‚ I think I don’t know what a hermit crab looks like because I don’t see one in that picture lol.

Glad you had a good time and are feeling refreshed ๐Ÿ™‚ I just realized you finally did Life of a Blogger and I’m not doing it for a few weeks. *sigh* oh well, I can still read yours!

    • I did two life of a blogger so far and I wish I did start earlier. They are fun to do and I enjoy letting people get to know me ๐Ÿ™‚

The hermit crab is in the pink shell I will try and take a picture of her today when I give her a bath. I can’t believe I have to give her a bath LOL I didn’t realize how much work they really are might even have to get her a few friends since they are considered Social animals.

  5. Looks like a great vacation, and the waterpark looks like a lot of fun. And a hermit crab too- how fun! Glad you guys had a good time.

I know what you mean about missing blogging, when we were on vacation a few weeks ago I occasionally thought I should be checking my blog, or I haven’t posted in a while. My wife laughed and said I was addicted. I guess it does become part of your life doesn’t it? LOL.

    • It really is a part of our lives and I missed everyone. Being away from twitter and FB and not visiting blogs really made me sad and realize how much a love the book community!

  6. What?! No books?!?! Then why am I even here??? I am SO kidding… What an awesome vacation! Just to sit back, relax and plan nothing for days…. heaven. And to miss blogging and hopping around, that’s even better – HERE, HERE!!!!

Yeah…. I’m an awful commenter. I scoot around and then I get interrupted and close the computer and never get back. Such is life. I’m not one to worry comments, though. I’m like, “eh..” I NEED to be better, though. It is the courteous thing to do, you are so right!!!!

Enjoy the rest of your week!!!!

    • I know I am as shocked as you are, I always at least have one book but now not this week Lol. Vacation was really nice!

I think we are all awful commenters at times and sometimes life just gets in the way and we don’t have time. I love commenting and feel bad I don’t do it enough but I think I have a system now will be putting it to the test this week Lol

      Have a great week Kristin!!!

  7. My cousins used to go to WILDWOOD each summer. We never did though. I noted in your about you section that you read a lot of Middle Grade and I think that reading what your kids do is awesome. If you have a book club with your kids it will mean so much to them, you will be able to talk about issues without it being a big LIFE LESSON they won’t want to hear about. And it will give them fantastic memories.

    • Thank you! I had always hoped the local library would do a book club for the kids since I have loads of suggestions ๐Ÿ™‚ my kids have gotten more into books since I started my blog and I love that!!! I love the Idea of starting a book club with them that would make some great memories!!!

  8. Glad you enjoyed your Jersey Shore getaway. It’s such a great place for a family vacation. I haven’t been to Wildwood in years. I used to go to Sea Isle City when my kids were small. Now the furthest I venture is LBI and Spring Lake.

The Forbidden Library is calling to me–I must find out more about it.

    • I can’t remember a weekend not being at the Jersey Shore ๐Ÿ™‚ This is the first time in a VERY long time that we went to Wildwood wasn’t sure what to expect but it was so much fun. We are already planning to go back next year ๐Ÿ™‚ LBI is very nice, haven’t been much but the times I did go it’s just beautiful.
