It’s a Filthy Dirty Christmas with Michelle & Berls – Week 3

Posted December 30, 2021 by Berls in Review / 2 Comments

Last year Michelle read these fun, kinky Christmas novellas that were released almost daily and they looked like SO MUCH FUN. This year, she asked if I wanted to read them with her and I was thrilled to join in on some Filthy, Dirty Christmas fun. Every Monday – Friday from November 15 to December 10 they are releasing a new novella. Michelle and I are reading them as fast as we can (she’s faster than me) and reviewing them together, a week of books at a time. This week we have the third 5 books that were released. Although we had planned to read all 25, we have been so busy and that they’re taking longer to read than we planned and we’ve started to fizzle out. So we’re stopping at 15 (at least for now). It was a fun ride, though!

North ‘Nori’ Vega is too young and too sweet to get stuck with a rough and tumble guy like me. I’ve been around the block and then some. Not only is she too good for me, my best friend, her brother, would kill me if I touched her.
But one innocent kiss under the mistletoe has me breaking all my rules. I’m her secret Santa this year and I am going to make sure her stocking is stuffed!
Nori’s name is about to be Christmas because I wanna marry her!
Welcome to a filthy dirty Christmas!
Forget sugar and spice and everything nice … this year we want to show off our naughty side.Taboo, dangerous, and over-the-top, we’re bringing you everything you were too scared to ask Santa for.
**Don’t worry, loves, these are still packed with the heroes you crave and the HEA’s you deserve!

    1.  what did you like/dislike about the hero?
      • Michelle: Pax was cute, he is in love with his best friend’s sister since the moment he has seen her in a photo. He is just adorable.
      • Berls:  I liked this hero a lot – Pax is the brother’s best friend and he’s older. He is definitely going to dote on Nori.
    2. what did you like/dislike about the heroine?
      • Michelle: Nori is a cutie too, I really liked Pax and Nori. She is a curvy girl that doesn’t really know how adorable she is and I love when the girls in a book are like that.
      • Berls:  Nori “North” was very likeable too. She is independent but also has a hesitant side – a nice balance. I really enjoyed the little tidbits of Hispanic culture that came with her.
    3. how would you rate the romance/steam factor?
      • Michelle: The romance was nice and the sex was spicy!
      • Berls: This one was not as steamy as the others; it was more of a sweet romance with some fade-to-black/assumed steam. And I enjoyed it. Nori is not a virgin – thank you!! – and she’s not over the top sex crazed either. Another nice balance.
    4. overall rating and why?
      • Michelle: I gave it a 4 star. I would love to read this in a full length and just get more of the backstory and also learn more about the other characters in the book.
      • Berls: I gave this one 4 stars. It was a sweet romance and I could see myself enjoying more with these characters.

One billionaire boss + One curvy employee named Christmas + An undeniable attraction = Christmas is coming more than once!
I can no longer ignore the curvy babe in my office. When the opportunity to join her to select a signature drink for the annual Christmas party appears, I'm all over it like tinsel on a Christmas tree. Chrissy is just as tasty as the cocktail we choose.
Chrissy shows up to the party in a dress that makes her look like a princess, and I know that she'll be mine. But when she disappears, leaving only a pair of broken heels, she's going to get a gift from a Secret Santa she didn't realize she had. When she drops a bombshell on me a few days later, I'll stop at nothing to win her over and give her everything she wants.
Chrissy is all I want for Christmas and forever, and I won't stop until she's mine.
S.I.L.F. is part of the Filthy and Dirty Christmas series! It features a hot billionaire boss and the curvy babe he's going to make his wife. This is a short and sizzling romance, perfect for a pick-me-up during your day or just before bed. Guaranteed HEA, no cheating, no past relationship drama -- just two people working on their love and starting a sizzling future together.

    1.  what did you like/dislike about the hero?
      • Michelle: Totally loved Dallas, I love a good boss & employee story. He was just adorable how he watched her but not in a crazy stalker way. Just thought he was a great guy.
      • Berls: I honestly didn’t love him. Dallas is rich and sexy, yeah, but otherwise, he felt kind of nothing special to me. He likes curvy girls, so he has that going for him.
    2. what did you like/dislike about the heroine?
      • Michelle: Poor Chrissy, just not having the best luck at work and her supervisor hates her. It was like a Cinderella story and that is what I loved the most about it. She even loses a shoe.
      • Berls: So, I loved that Chrissy is a curvy girl, but she lacked confidence and let her boss be all mean girl on her. I wanted her to have more confidence. I wanted to believe she was smart and talented, but I never got to see it in this short.
    3. how would you rate the romance/steam factor?
      • Michelle: SPICY! I really loved these two!
      • Berls: I honestly was distracted from the romance by all the ways this was an HR/lawsuit nightmare. If I wrote an epilogue to this book, it would have been Deena suing Dallas for promoting Chrissy for giving him sexual favors LOL!
    4. overall rating and why?
      • Michelle: 4 stars, this might be one of my favorites out of this week’s books. I wouldn’t mind spending more time in this story.
      • Berls: I gave this one 3 stars. It wasn’t bad but I was distracted by the workplace environment that just didn’t make sense in so many ways. I hated that she found another job where they actually valued her but after she started sleeping with the boss she stays at the crap company instead.

She calls him Daddy Christmas…
Ford Gamble is my dad’s best friend. He’s also the reclusive keeper of the Conception Ridge lighthouse. But I remember a time when he was around more—the perfect hotter-than-sin fodder for all my teenage fantasies. And if I’m being honest, for most of my fantasies since then too…Now there’s just enough silver in his shock of sexy hair and thick beard that he looks a little bit like a hot forty year-old Santa, with six-pack abs. And that’s what has me heading to the lighthouse on a dark, stormy Christmas Eve when the retirement home where I work needs a fill-in Mr. Claus for their annual celebration.Except I underestimate the bad weather, and the next thing I know, I’m waking up in his bed—realizing I may have revealed my forbidden fantasies to him in my feverish sleep. Can I convince him to finally let me call him Daddy Christmas? Or will he deny that he shares my taboo feelings?Because I know Ford can’t stop looking at me with a wild heat in his gaze. And my desperate Christmas wish is that he’s thinking about corrupting his little, not-so-innocent angel.

  1.  what did you like/dislike about the hero?
    • Michelle: I sort of liked him but then it got super weird
    • Berls: He had potential; the daddy thing could have worked for me if he was just a silver fox. But he took it too far for me.
  2. what did you like/dislike about the heroine?
    • Michelle: She was ok but also thought it was super weird
    • Berls: She confused me, honestly. She was asserting her independence and then infantilizing herself. Mixed signals.
  3. how would you rate the romance/steam factor?
    • Michelle: Didn’t really make it that far
    • Berls: Um… Not for me. Breeding, virgin, daddy….
  4. overall rating and why?
    • Michelle: This was a DNF when he said that he got hard when she start growing boobs, I was out. She was like 12. That is gross and now they are roll playing like she is still that young. EWWWWWWWW!!! NO!
    • Berls: I’m with Michelle on this one. I DNF at 36%. The daddy thing can be hot… but not when it feels pervy and that’s how it felt for me.

I have a confession to make: I have hated all things tinsel-related for years.
Yeah, I know, most people have a right to hate things, but I don't. I'm Nick Kristoff, CEO of the biggest department store chain that specializes in the holidays. Hating a holiday I plan to promote all year long is kind of like living in hell.
But that all changed the moment a bundle of sparkly energy hits me. And by hits me, I mean she rams into me, knocks me over, then lands on top of me. In that one moment, my life changed.
The second I look into her hazel eyes, I know she's the woman for me.But first, I have to convince the Christmas-loving woman to give me a chance, even if that means letting my hang-ups about the holiday go. I am up for that challenge.
Because this Christmas, the only thing I'm asking Santa for is the sweet sugarplum who knocked me off my feet.
Author Warning: This books includes elves(duh), jingle bells(another duh), a sweet woman who falls for the grump, a little light stalking, and a man so head over heels for a woman who is his complete opposite it will make you melt. Hot chocolate and cookies recommended while reading.

  1.  what did you like/dislike about the hero?
    • Michelle: He was just so cute. I really did enjoy how sweet he was with Ivy. The owner of this big department store and a bit of a grump but I really enjoyed how awesome he was.
    • Berls: I loved Nick! He’s got the grinch/grumpy older guy thing going on, all while being super sweet to Ivy and his parents.
  2. what did you like/dislike about the heroine?
    • Michelle: Ivy was so cute. I love the chemistry and I loved that she knocked him on his ass. lol I just really enjoyed Ivy and how she really needed that push to get out of her shell.
    • Berls: Ivy is adorable. She’s all things sunshine to Nick’s grumpiness. She lost her parents recently though, and the way she’s trying to keep her cheery demeanor in the face of hardship makes her loveable.
  3. how would you rate the romance/steam factor?
    • Michelle: Steamy, Spicy and Sexy! This was fun to read.
    • Berls: It was a really sweet romance. Nick falls for Ivy immediately and it’s not hard to see why – and yet he tries to take things slow-ish. She’s a virgin (again, which you know is not my favorite) but that part wasn’t overdone in my opinion. I enjoyed the way they clearly cared for each other.
  4. overall rating and why?
    • Michelle: 4 Stars for me, I could have easily enjoyed this as a full-length story. The characters even the side ones were just fantastic.
    • Berls: 5 stars! It’s funny how a workplace romance bothered me in a previous book and not at all in this one. I think it was the way Nick respected Ivy and let her be her own woman? Whatever the reason, I loved this book and would happily read more about the characters we met.

Emersyn Daws is driving me crazy, has been for months. As soon as we met I knew I needed her by my side, soothing my ragged edges with her thick curves and sweet smile. Every time she walks past me, especially in one of her tight pencil skirts, I'm like a dog chasing after a bone. She was into me too, at first, then something changed and now she wants nothing to do with me. Every once in a while I catch her staring and right before she turns away our eyes connect and I feel the connection I felt the first moment I saw her. She's going to be mine, no matter what.
This Christmas we're going to figure out what went wrong then I'll spend the rest of the night Decking Her Halls.

  1.  what did you like/dislike about the hero?
    • Michelle: He wasn’t my type of guy and I wasn’t really liking him very much at all.
    • Berls:  I may have enjoyed this book more if it wasn’t the 15th – by this point I’ve read quite a few heroes like Cohen… the boss, likes curvy girls, etc. and he just didn’t stand out as special. But he also didn’t bother me.
  2. what did you like/dislike about the heroine?
    • Michelle: I really liked her, I loved her confidence as the story progressed but I just wasn’t really connecting with her like I had wanted.
    • Berls: Emerson was fine, I liked that she wanted to prove her worth to her peers and I liked that she stood up to the office b*tch.
  3. how would you rate the romance/steam factor?
    • Michelle: I sort of never got to the point.
    • Berls: I wasn’t that into it. I think it’s because it’s another office romance and I’ve read so many of them lately, and this didn’t have anything that made me excited.
  4. overall rating and why?
    • Michelle:  I DNF this book, I just wasn’t feeling it and just wasn’t connecting or even care about anyone in the book. I felt like I was dropped into an already solid story and missed a lot of what was going on. Just not for me.
    • Berls: 3 stars because it was okay – I didn’t dislike anyone, I just wasn’t excited by the story at all. Every time I picked it up I had kind of forgotten everyone and everything that happened… I wasn’t into it.

Which novella was your favorite this week? why?

  • Michelle: This week it was S.I.L.F for me. I just loved them and really loved that it was like a Cinderella story!
  • Berls: For me, it was Kiss My Tinsel all the way. I loved the characters, the side characters, the setting, the concept – all of it! I really would like to read more with these characters.
