We now have 6 – WIR & TSP 8/17

WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. Itโ€™s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

Before I tell you about the heading of this weeks post let me tell you about some blogging stuff. I have nothing to report ๐Ÿ™‚ got a little behind on stuff I wanted to do, I attempted to catch up this weekend, then the CLOO Channel had a Mork and Mindy Marathon on until 8pm and I got a whole lot of nothing done. I was so sad to hear that Robin Williams had died, the internet has been so sad that last couple of days and I thought this was a great tribute to him so we watched it all day, forgot how funny it was. So I plan to work on a bunch of stuff this week. I have some original post ideas and some reviews to write before I totally forget everything that happened in the book. I need to get back into reading and writing the review right after or taking notes again. My brain just isn’t what it use to be (not sure it ever was) but it’s easier to write them right after when it’s fresh in my head.

Ok now the title…Its funny really. We use to have 1 Hermit Crab and now we have 6. All I did was ask my friend about her cage and she explained how much her mom (who took care of the 5 she had) didn’t really want them and more. Everytime I talked to her she asked when she was dropping them off. Since I am a sucker for my kids and homeless hermit crabs I told her I would take them. So I would like to introduce you all to our new family members (god help me)

    • Yes 3 of them are huge and 3 are small. The bugs ones I won’t put in my hand I’m scared they will pinch me.

I love that we have the same taste in books!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • They are very cute in an ugly way ๐Ÿ™‚ Yes it’s Holly Black and Cassandra Clare I really thought I wasn’t going to get approved for it but I am so happy I did. It’s suppose to be really good

    • Yes that is a lot I have one cat (I’m allergic to cats) and 1 dog plus the 6 hermits crabs I think that’s enough ๐Ÿ™‚ My daughter wanted them and I thought this would be a good learning experience for her they are pretty easy to take care of.

  1. I totally agree with you : read first, then write the review before starting another book ! (Or else, you are late of 15 reviews like I was this month). Enjoy summer laziness and your books, have a great week ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. You are such a good mommy! Taking in all those hermit crabs, you’re kids will remember that you did that when they’re older and think you’re the greatest!!!!!! My hermit crab growing up never came out of his shell so you guys are lucky they are all so active!!!!! So cool!!!!!

I love that you’re being lazy and working on cool new content for the blog! Yay! Enjoy, girlie!

    • I had a bad experience with them was I was little because mine died after a couple days but I realized I wasn’t taken care of them properly. When I get her the little pink one (flyra) while we were on vacation I did a little research and realized they are a lot more work and a good experience for Julia. I have to say I have gotten quite fond of them and they are so much fun to watch ๐Ÿ™‚ I think this time around I might do a lot better with them then when I was a kid Lol

  3. Those hermit crabs are pretty cool, Michelle! I never thought about having those as pets – do they need water or are they good on dry land?
My kids only have one more week of summer vacation before school starts again, so we are going to go shopping for stuff next week, and I also want them to get up at their normal time the whole week, just so they’re kind of used to it before they have to ๐Ÿ™‚
    Have a fantastic Sunday!

    • They live on dry land but they need to have water it’s very important. I have a small bowl with a spoonge for the water and I will fill the sink with a little water for them to walk around in every week for exercise and a bath. They sell them on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore and if taken care of properly they can live for a long time. I didn’t realize how much it was to take care of them until I started doing research. They also eat anything we eat but love tropical fruits so I plan to get some when I go to the store again.

  4. 6 hermit crabs, wow. Your family has gotten a little bigger! ๐Ÿ™‚ I don’t know much about crabs but they do look kinda fun… I bet they’re interesting to watch.

The Forbidden Library looks good, will watch for your review. And I’ll have to try and remember the COYER twitter party, even though I’ve been a bit AWOL lately. Red Queen looks good too, like that cover.

    Enjoy the rest of summer!

    • I think we are all AWOL it’s hard for me in the summer with the kids home all day. I haven’t been a good blog commenter either only on Sundays really. When the summer is over I will have more time to comment and be around ๐Ÿ™‚

They really are a lot of fun to watch when they the bigs ones try to ge in the little hut they have. Yesterday 3 of them were trying to get in so the hut was on top of them. They seem happy I guess and the kids really like them. My friend has had them for a couple years now and I heard they can live a long time. I hope I am a good caretaker because I have grown quite fond of them! Lol

  5. Those hermit grabs look fun and thier new cage looks great! Can I ask what do they eat? I never heard fo anyone having hermit crabs before, but it indeed sounds like they would be fun to watch, but then again I love watching animals.

I’ve been strugling with coming up with orginal content for the blog. I do have one discussion type post scheduled for next week and I still have to finisha draft I started a few weeks gao, but I need a few more examples/books to add to it and I can’t seem to find the time to do it.

    • They had hermit crab food but they also can eat anything we eat as long as you don’t add any perservatives to it (ie salt, garlic, etc) They love tropical fruits since they are a beach type animal so I plan to get a few things for them when I get to the store

Original content is hard since most of my ideas have already been done. I have been having a hard time with finding time to do what I need to. I hope when the kids go back to school things will be a little better…I hope ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Oh god, 6 hermit crabs?! Am I the only one who looks at those pictures and gets freaked out? LOL I’m glad your family is enjoying them though. They do stay in the cage, right? Lie to me and say yes if they don’t lol.

Have I mentioned that I hate you? Why do you get Red Queen? I want it… ๐Ÿ™ LOL Have a great week!

    • Yes they stay in the cage but I will let them out for some excerise in the sink with a little water, water is important for them and they like to walk around in it.

Shut up you love me regardless of the book I got ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I have been into creepy lately and I think Creed fits it perfectly.
Thank you my kids and I think they are cute but my husband said they look like spiders with shells ๐Ÿ™‚
