To avoid spoilers it is strongly recommended you read the first book before reading this review
I enjoyed this book but not as much as the first. I still loved all the characters but the story was just a lot more than I was expecting. What does that mean? I’m not sure how to explain this book without giving all the details away. So let me try doing this without confusing you all.
I enjoyed seeing all the characters back again in this book. This book revolves around Cynthia, Serena’s sister. Cynthia is as strong as her sister but reckless which I wasn’t expecting. After reading about her in the first book as being boy crazy I was thrown off a bit by her in this book, however I did enjoy her character and I loved how she was really determined to show the men she was able to do just what why were able to do. (sorry for being so vague just don’t want to give it away) Lukas was very likable, both books I actually liked the men more then the girl characters, they are so super sweet and very caring about the girls and I really think it was what both the girls needed. They were great counterparts for the girls and the relationship between Cynthia and Lukas was so cute and I just loved them together.
The story was filled with so much information and not enough of the story, the end was fantastic & I really enjoyed it but the build to that point seemed to take a long time. The struggle to be a woman in this world is shown quite strongly in this books and the twist at the end makes me so eager to read the next one. I think I what really got me in this book was I was looking for more POV’s then just Cynthia, I was hoping to have Serena also.
I gave Mine to Spell 3.5/5 stars I loved the characters but the story wasn’t what I was expecting but the end was wonderful. I can’t wait to see were Janeal takes these two characters next. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Regardless of how I felt about the story in this book, I strongly recommend this book and series for a unique and wonderful read.

Have a great day and Happy Reading!
I can totally see where you’re coming from – the story wasn’t what I was expecting either. I was just basing my expectations off of the blurb, but now that I think about it, you are right that the Cynthia we met in the first book was boy crazy and Falor changed her character somewhat in this book (although she did give reasons and showed that the “change” was really just the fact that Cynthia had been pretending all along). It didn’t bother me and I still really enjoyed the story, but I can definitely see how this book wouldn’t quite meet your expectations because of that. Great review!

It wont stop me from reading the next one lol. I was hoping for more of the end then the middle. I thought she spent to much time on the secret and not enough on proving herself 🙂
