WIR vectorstock_43821-1-1Week in READ-view is a post I have posted on Sundays telling you what I have been up to this week and what I read or am reading. The Sunday Post is a meme sponsored by the awesome Kimba at the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

Real Life & Blog News:

This was, what I call, a Rough Ryan Week. The meds he is on had to be adjusted because he was once on three meds but we took one away that we didn’t realize was working along side one of his other meds. So taking it away kind of made the dose lower than it was. So we have since adjusted it and now just have to wait till his body gets adjusted. He has been very mean, nasty and aggressive. He never has severe manic moments at home but he has had quite a few in the last 4 weeks. He has torn apart his room and screamed and cursed. It gets pretty bad so until his meds and his anger are under control I might still be in and out. I haven’t been able to visit anyone because I just don’t have time. I need to watch him closely still to make sure he doesn’t hurt his sister or himself. I thought about going on a long hiatus to get all this under control but I really love my blog and now that COYER is starting I don’t want to disappear however I probably wont have a lot of posts up unless things start to settle down sooner than expected (fingers crossed) as least not original post however I am trying to work on a few just taking me longer than I would like. So please excuse my disappearances while my family and I get a handle on all of this. We are also trying to work with my daughter because we realize she is under a lot of stress watching all this happen and it’s a lot for a little girl of 7 to keep to herself. It’s just another bump in the road and we got through all the other ones we will get through this. Thank you all for understanding and being so supportive, it really is very much appreciated. You all are an amazing group of people and I truly love that about all of you!

From now on I wont make a drawn out post, I will just say a Rough Ryan week so you will understand unless things get better than I will be able to share that happy news. I do hope it’s soon πŸ™‚

So lets get to the BIG NEW! COYER IS BACK!!!

COYER ScavHuntLogo-SignUpI am so excited because this is going to be so much fun, we have the scavenger hunt but if that’s not your thing, no problem than just do normal coyer using the summer rules from last year. You can see the rules HERE. I do hope you will join us, we have lots of fun prizes and a bunch of twitter parties and if you aren’t a member of the COYER Group you need to get over there and join because we have lots going on in there also even when COYER is not running. Please note, the group is closed to only members of COYER so you need to participate to join. πŸ™‚

I have been working on a few posts like I mentioned I hope to have them up soon and I have a bunch of reviews going up in the next couple of weeks and I also realized that I forgot to write 3 of them (oops) so now I have to go get those done because I am pretty sure I already forgot more of what I wanted to write. I hate waiting a long time to write a review need to get back to writing it as soon as I am finished or at least writing notes again so I don’t forget with my old lady brain.

So that’s about it, today we are having a girls day out. My Mom, Sister, Julia and I are going to NY to see Aladdin on Broadway. This will be my daughters first time in NY and her first play. She is sooooo excited and it will be good to shower her with a lot of attention. Then it’s home to watch a WWE Pay-per-view with the boys. I think it will be the BEST DAY EVER! If I don’t get to visit you I promise I will, the Sunday Posts I always try to get to as many people as I can because it allows me to see what I missed during the week, it’s my favorite post visiting day.

  1. I’m sorry Ryan is having such a tough time of it, and the rest of you as well. I hope that the adjustments to his meds are helpful and things calm down for all of you. Meanwhile, don’t worry too much about the blog – family and taking care of yourself come first.

What fun to take your daughter to a Broadway play, though! We took ours to her first Broadway touring company production (Wicked) last summer for her 20th birthday. She loved it!

    • I am hoping it does help, thank you

I loved Wicked, I saw it when the original people were on it. It was fantastic. I love Broadway if it wasn’t so expensive I would see more play like I use to but Aladdin was ok just a little slow and I was expecting more special effects and fanfare.

  2. My heart goes out to you with Ryan, med adjustments and waiting for things to return to some sort of balance is really tough. Brings back awful memories of difficult years with my son and dealing with severe ADHD, tourette’s and depression and juggling medication. He’s now happy, well adjusted and married with a baby and a beautiful daughter.
Enjoy COYER and Aladdin … hope that’s a wonderful outing!

  3. I’m sorry to hear things are rough with Ryan. I do hope things settle down soon for all of you.
On a brighter note, how was Aladdin? I saw your photo’s on Instagram and it looks like you were all very happy and were enjoying yourselves.
    Have a great week.

  4. I’m sorry to hear about your rough week. Family does come first and I hope you everything works out soon for you. I hope you had a great time in the city and with your WWE night!

    • It does look very cute and I can’t wait to read it

and Thank you! it gets very frustrating but at this point we don’t know what to do anymore.

  5. I admire your courage and your strength. In times of stress we often find interesting things to help us cope. Yesterday I pulled out my grandfather’s trench brasses and polished them and put them in display. They have been collected from WWI and WWII.I shared them on Facebook and people’s response was amazing. It was good to reconnect with my past after a few bad weeks coping with my mother’s mental illness.

    • Mental illness is no fun, I am sorry you and your mom have to go through it but I am sure you have faith like I do that things will work out. Thank you I try to have courage and strength but sometimes it’s hard. I agree interests help cope ,it’s why I love this blog so much πŸ™‚

  6. So sorry to hear about your rough Ryan week. Hopefully his body will adjust to the meds soon and life will be a little calmer for everyone. It sounds stressful and exhausting for everyone involved. What a fun girls day! And I love the cover of Serafina and the Black Cloak. Have a great (and calmer) week!

    • Thank you! It can get very draining, I usually handle him but my husband got him today and realized what I have been doing for the last 4 weeks, he said it’s no fun, I said no DUH! πŸ˜‰

Is that cover gorgeous!!! I totally fell for it and than read the synopsis and have been waiting almost a month to get approved, I actually squealed when I got it. πŸ™‚

  7. So sorry you had a rough Ryan week – med adjustments are so rough for everyone involved. I absolutely hate it when mine have to be tinkered with. Hopefully he’ll adjust quickly. I’m glad you are getting out for a girls day – that sounds SO fun. I just found out about Coyer today and am really excited to be joining for my first time! Will look forward to seeing you around then.

    • I wish they would just work because I also hate having to adjust them for him. He just has a weird tolerance to meds and some don’t work like they are suppose to and have the opposite effect.

I am so glad you are joining COYER! You will have so much fun, please join the FB group, it’s has a great group in it and lots of fun games during coyer to participate in to win prizes. I look forward to seeing you around COYER also!

  8. Bea

A trip to Broadway to see Aladdin sounds wonderful! I hope you all have a great time.

I’m sorry to hear about the Rough Ryan week. I hope the change in meds works and that he settles down. That must be frightening for him to be so out of control, and for your daughter. Hugs to everyone.

    • We had a lot of fun, my daughter loves the city but said it has a lot of weird people lol

Thank you! I will admit at times he scares even me but my husband is able to handle him physically if needed. I do hope the meds work soon because I don’t know what we are going to do. *hugs back to you*

  9. Enoy the show! Hope you guys have a great time. Sorry things are rough, but they’ll get better- hang in there. It sounds like you handle it well.

COYER is back- yay! I wasn’t very effective the last time around LOL but this time should be better. You guys have a ton of fun stuff planned, it will be nice to have this all summer long. I’ll have to put together a post and think of some goals. πŸ™‚

Have a fabulous weekend, and enjoy the city!

  10. I am so sorry to hear that, sounds like you had a really rough week. I hope things settle soon and his meds start working. And indeed that must be hard for your daughter to go through as well. And I totally understand this means you have less time to blog.
I am really excited for this Coyer and already have my post scheduled, I like the supportive participants giveaway you added and am hoping to get a few entries for that.
Looks like you got some awesome gifts for mom’s day :).
I hope you have a fun day today and that this week will be better!

  11. It’s been a tough week for you, real life comes first even though blogging is mostly an escape πŸ˜‰ Don’t worry about visiting blogs, your health and welfare are more important, enjoy the play with your daughter, she’ll probably starry-eyed πŸ˜‰ Hugs !

  12. There’s no need to apologise for your family coming first!

So excited for COYER to start back up again! It’s going to be fun like always! I hope you’re enjoying the Wright Brother, even if it is a complete emotional roller coaster!

    • Thank Laura, I am really hoping that this will be the last post like this, I hate being so somber, I am a very happy/unusual person most of the time so nothing but good news (fingers crossed)

I don’t know about the book so far, I haven’t have an emotional feeling yet and her problem with their age is getting on my nerves. I can sort of understand but my husband is 4 years younger than me and I met him when he was 19 and I was 23.
